car1os Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 Found this on Skysports - he's now a target for other clubs too... Needs a new contract asap methinks. After a good start to the season, Leicester's Wales international midfielder Andy King has emerged as a target for Sunderland, QPR and West Brom. The 25-year-old's current deal runs out next summer and he would cost around £2.5million. The Foxes would be reluctant to let him go but may have to cash in before he is able to leave for free in 12 months' time.
Brooksy Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 We've got no central midfielders and it doesn't look like we're signing anyone, yeah let's sell him.
Spiritwalker Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 1 fit cm at the club and we sell him to QPR, unlikely.
fleckneymike Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 If that was my agent I'd be a bit miffed. I mean, if your agent is making up bullshit stories then you'd like to think he'd invent a slightly higher (but marginally plausible) fee. King's agent must be like Darren Lamb from Extras
johnny the fox Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 he's got a pulse so arry is bound to be sniffing..
MHC Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 Leicester's Wales international midfielder Andy King has emerged as a transfer target for Sunderland, QPR and West Brom. Sky sources are indicating that Foxes midfielder King is in demand as deadline day approaches, with three Premier League rivals keen to recruit him. The 25-year-old is contracted to Leicester until next summer, having been with the club for the whole of his professional career, and is valued at around £2.5million. With 54 goals in 278 appearances in all competitions, King is the highest-scoring midfielder in the club's history and an important player for Nigel Pearson. He played the full 90 minutes in the 2-2 draw against Everton and the 2-0 defeat at Chelsea.
car1os Posted 25 August 2014 Author Posted 25 August 2014 Great timing for this story, especially as Pearson has only just said he doesn't want too many players on the last year of their contract...
Master Fox Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 They know we've got an imminent signing in that position meaning Kingy might want regular premier league football elsewhere.
MPH Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 Not a chance we'd sell him. Lazy journalism. One of the most overused phrases on facebook. It doesnt always matter if we will sell or not.... Nigel has a habit himself of going for people in the last year of their contract...often a cheaper deal.... so why wouldnt other clubs? And as already pointed out...... Maybe his agent is handing his name around or angling for a better deal?
Stadt Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 Well this couldn't be any more obvious from his agent.
Monsell1976 Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 No way he would leave for any of these clubs mentioned, if we offer an extension to his contract, unless he wants a regular starting place, which I doubt he will have here when drinky and James are fit. Also Pearson has stating nobody is leaving, so if he was to leave, it won't be this window.
Larry_LCFC Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 QPR will go down quicker than the Titanic. No chance he would go there.
Finnaldo Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 £2.5 million Add another £2 million and Pearson may consider it for 5 minutes before he says no.
ktfox59 Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 If that was my agent I'd be a bit miffed. I mean, if your agent is making up bullshit stories then you'd like to think he'd invent a slightly higher (but marginally plausible) fee. King's agent must be like Darren Lamb from Extras . The worlds shrewdest agent
MHC Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 It must be his agent trying to get King a new deal because I don't believe for a minute that he wants to leave. He's better off here, I fancy us to finish above all three of the teams linked.
Guest Sharpe's Fox Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 As if I think his agent is going to have to think of something better than that.
Father Ted Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 I think Pearson will be having words with his agent.
Guest Col city fan Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 "Andy King you say?" Don't be surprised if he goes in for Diarra.
Robin JD Popley Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 Doubt there is much in this. He loves this club and the only way I see this type of move materialising is if Nigel said he doesn't want him. In the last 18 months, there has been opportunity for such discussion to have taken place, but to the best of our knowledge - hasn't - and he will want to see the job through with us. Plus, £2.5m for a British-born Premiership player? Bit of an insult.
EastNeukFox Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 Leicester's Wales international midfielder Andy King has emerged as a transfer target for Sunderland, QPR and West Brom. I'd imagine he'd prefer to remain in the BPL next season, so that would rule out a move to QPR and West Brom, and I can't see the Stadium of Light proving more attractive than the KP.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 Fact is Andy King has often stated his desire to play in the Premier League, preferably with Leicester City, we've (mostly) long thought him good enough, fans and staff alike, after turning down offers in years gone by and with him never seeming to try and force through a move, would be more than a bit strange to leave after starting the first 2 games of the season for us.
