zak_lcfc Posted 5 September 2014 Posted 5 September 2014 Obviously we suffered when two of our O-Line went off injured at the same time and we missed B J Raji just because he takes up half of the line himself but we just couldn't cope with them. Lacy had a decent game but Rodgers couldn't get anything going into the 4th quarter when the defence tired but by then it was too little too late. That spell at the start of the third was our undoing. Packers 1st down - interception. Seahawks score. Packers 1st down - Rodgers sacked and fumbled. Seahawks safety. Uncharacteristic "mistakes" by Rodgers but I would put it more to great defence than him having a bad game. Yeah I agree, it would have been a mammoth task without the injuries and mistakes but like you say good defensive teams put that pressure on and that's where mistakes happen. I might have been tired and so wrong but I think Rodgers didn't even try to throw to a receiver on the side Sherman was defending the whole game, makes defending so easy when you know the danger is coming from one side of the field! In my opinion it's maybe a blessing that the Packers got the Seahawks at the start of the season maybe now they can kick on and try to establish some kind of rhythm and pick up some wins, any team playing against the Seahawks will have a very tough time but that's what won them the Superbowl. Looking forward to seeing what Payton Manning can do with the Broncos this season and whether the 49ers look like a Superbowl contender as well, I'm a Bears fan but can't see them doing too well for a while!
General Smuts Posted 5 September 2014 Posted 5 September 2014 Well that wasn't worth staying up for. We couldn't do anything against that Seahawks defence. Keep that up and they've going all the way again. Geeez I feel like crap this morning after only getting an hours sleep after the game! You're a new parent - when do you ever sleep? Bears will win the NFC this year. FACT.
Chug Laguna Posted 6 September 2014 Posted 6 September 2014 If Locker finishes a season we'll make the playoffs This whole sentence has broken my brain
goose2010 Posted 6 September 2014 Posted 6 September 2014 Redskins fan here. Not much hope to be honest hoping it's better than last season though! Looking forward to just watching some football though!
GingerrrFox Posted 6 September 2014 Posted 6 September 2014 I follow the Buffalo Bills. Wish I didn't but they are my team. Went on holiday to New York City and Upstate New York many moons ago and was took to a Bills game. I loved it and they were going through their golden period at the time with Marv Levy as head coach. Needless to say they've been terrible ever since, but they are my team. I fancy the Saints to win the big one this year.
bovril Posted 6 September 2014 Posted 6 September 2014 Poughkeepsie Arsebandits fan here. Go bandits!
zak_lcfc Posted 7 September 2014 Posted 7 September 2014 Loads of games on tonight thought i'd stick a few quid on teams I expect to do well over the season! Saints (-3.0) Patriots (-4.0) 49ers (-3.5) a fiver pays something like £34, I'm hoping that all of the teams can win by more than a field goal, looking forward to seeing how some of the teams get on and start their seasons!
Jordan Posted 7 September 2014 Posted 7 September 2014 Based on teams that I have a funny feeling about today, I've got the Jets (-5.5) and the Vikings (+3) in a parlay.Half a ****ing point. Still, although I don't care for the Niners, I just loooove seeing the Cowboys getting spanked at Jerry World.

I would jest about the 4 losing Superbowl in a row but at least you guys got to those Superbowls in the first place...
General Smuts Posted 7 September 2014 Posted 7 September 2014 Shitty first half for the Bears. Real glad I went with DeSean Jackson in the flex instead of Brandin Cooks who currently has more points on his own than the rest of my team combined. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

SOCCERROO FOX Posted 8 September 2014 Posted 8 September 2014 Who Dey got off to a nice start with an away win in Baltimore
docho66 Posted 8 September 2014 Posted 8 September 2014 I'm a Pats fan myself, purely because of the brilliance of Mr Brady. It was a shame they weren't firing on all cylinders last night. At the end of the day, we lost to a decent Flippers side! Followed the NFL for a couple of years, on and off... this year though, I aim to watch as much as I can. I was going to try a Fantasy Football team, but I don't know enough yet! Go Pats!
Narborough_fox Posted 8 September 2014 Posted 8 September 2014 Looking like another struggle for the Bucs then. Poor pre-season results and a loss to Cam Newton-less Panthers in the first game, really hope I'm wrong mind.

Fox in the North Posted 8 September 2014 Posted 8 September 2014 Bet Tony Romo isn't on Dez Bryant's Christmas card list any more after trying this...
Lamby Posted 8 September 2014 Posted 8 September 2014 Hoping for a Cardinals win later. Need to be winning games like these if they wanna get in the Playoffs
Jordan Posted 8 September 2014 Posted 8 September 2014 The Giants' defensive line is going to have to play like monsters today, because if they can't get a pass rush, and if the Giants have to play safeties in the box to stop the run... Well, that may mean the Giants will get caught just playing Prince Amukamara man-to-man vs Megatron, and that scares me. I'm never going to get any defensive coordinator jobs any time soon, but I wonder if it might be a better if if the Giants lined up Dominique Rodgers-Cromatie against Megatron instead of keeping their corners on the same side of the field at all times, as they have said they would. The Giants' secondary needed big improvements for this season, and I'd have assumed the Giants splashed their cash on ARC precisely for matchups like tonight's.
Guesty Posted 8 September 2014 Posted 8 September 2014 Ray Rice has been cut by the Ravens and not sure what the NFL are gonna do with him. He only got 2 games originally when there was just a video of him dragging her out of a lift unconscious. Now there's a video of the punch it seems they think it's a lot worse - somewhat double standards. And she married him after - hope it wasn't for the money, cause he's unemployed now.
Finnegan Posted 8 September 2014 Posted 8 September 2014 Bet Tony Romo isn't on Dez Bryant's Christmas card list any more after trying this... lol smashed. Is that legal? That's a red card in rugby.
Fox in the North Posted 8 September 2014 Posted 8 September 2014 lol smashed. Is that legal? That's a red card in rugby. Perfectly and delightfully legal The moment the wide receiver makes a grab for the ball, the corner or safety or lb has every right to tackle them, no matter if they're in the air Well that's what my coach said any way haha. Don't grab the face cage though, that's naughty.
Fox in the North Posted 8 September 2014 Posted 8 September 2014 Also, to be fair the tackler doesn't know that the balls just got picked so as far as he knows, Dez Bryant has just caught the ball.

Don't grab the face cage though, that's naughty. But he's not reeaaally making a grab he's miles away. That's amazing, haha. Love that. What's the best, legal, way of watching NFL in the UK? Is it on sky sports? Are there good highlights shows?
Fox in the North Posted 8 September 2014 Posted 8 September 2014 Well he makes an attempt to play the ball by jumping for it and that's good enough reason Yeah Sky Sports, they usually put live games on Fridays and Sundays and you should be able to get Red Zone on the red button, which covers all the important bits. As for highlights, nfl put it all up on their site, there's a huuuuuge amount of adverts but it's good quality.
