Steven Posted 8 September 2014 Posted 8 September 2014 Well he makes an attempt to play the ball by jumping for it and that's good enough reason Yeah Sky Sports, they usually put live games on Fridays and Sundays and you should be able to get Red Zone on the red button, which covers all the important bits. As for highlights, nfl put it all up on their site, there's a huuuuuge amount of adverts but it's good quality.

Jordan Posted 8 September 2014 Posted 8 September 2014 Ray Rice has been cut by the Ravens and not sure what the NFL are gonna do with him. He only got 2 games originally when there was just a video of him dragging her out of a lift unconscious. Now there's a video of the punch it seems they think it's a lot worse - somewhat double standards. And she married him after - hope it wasn't for the money, cause he's unemployed now. The NFL took a lot of shit this offseason for how they handled the Ray Rice situation. Everybody and their cats and dogs knew that Rice decked her in the face and knocked her out. While the Ravens did the right thing here, it's kind of a shame that severe action was only just taken. Although some punishments are in the CBA, it's absurd that a player can get suspended for an entire season for smoking weed (Josh Gordon) yet Rice got two games for knocking a woman out. And it's disgusting how the Rice and the Ravens brought Rice's wife out to face the media at a press conference, which must have made her feel like shit. Now, they're whistling a different tune. Perfectly and delightfully legal The moment the wide receiver makes a grab for the ball, the corner or safety or lb has every right to tackle them, no matter if they're in the air Well that's what my coach said any way haha. Don't grab the face cage though, that's naughty.Close. A defender can make contact if he gains position on the receiver, but he cannot interfere with the receiver catching the ball if the receiver has a position advantage. The defender can nail the receiver at the moment the ball arrives, but not before then, even if the receiver is stretching out, waiting for the ball......HOWEVER, as soon as a forward pass is touched by anyone on the field, pass interference can no longer be called... So as soon as the San Fran safety touched the ball, the Niners has free reign to ****in' destroy Bryant! (...well, so as long as they didn't hit him in the head, in which case the defender can expect to write a big check to the NFL the next morning.) That hit was awesome. Actually, that whole first half was enjoyable.

Jordan Posted 8 September 2014 Posted 8 September 2014 Oh....well...then refs in the UK don't know the rules and I'm very very lucky! (I play corner) Cheers for the correction Ha to be fair, though, your refs might use a different interpretation of the pass interference rule. As the years have gone by, pass interference rules have become a lot more strict against the defender over here, and this trend has become clearly noticeable in the NFL as pro football has become (and the league has embraced) a more offensive game with more passing.
Chug Laguna Posted 9 September 2014 Posted 9 September 2014 Well, my Lions looked very, very good - shockingly good defensively. Of course, this is against a decidedly poor team in the Giants, but these were the types of games that we would consistently struggle in last season, so feeling good. Stafford has six viable weapons to throw to and Bell is still a beast. Promising.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 9 September 2014 Posted 9 September 2014 Just catching up on the Eagles highlights now, what a terrible, terrible first half.

zak_lcfc Posted 9 September 2014 Posted 9 September 2014 So far the Seahawks look like they could be dominant, impressive win to kick off their season and if others QB's are as scared to throw at Sherman like Rodgers was then they will have an easy enough season. The Broncos also did the business this first week and if their offense finds a good rhythm they will be very difficult to stop (they did concede 24 points though so maybe defensive issues from last season are still an issue there) Lions looked very good as well, The Patriots looked unimpressive their offensive line was poor and they couldn't click into gear in the 2nd half but a good game for the flippers, but after the first half I expected them to win that as well as the Saints, they looked really good first half but their running game faltered and they looked unfocused defensively in the last 2 quarters and it cost them the game in the end the 49ers looked ok as well but we'll see how teams kick on from this week. I think if Kaepernick can gain a lot of confidence this 49ers team can do very well, amazing what a little bit of confidence can do to a QBs ability to direct a flowing offense, from what I saw Rodgers and Brady both looked shaken and the offenses of both seemed to stall.
Chug Laguna Posted 9 September 2014 Posted 9 September 2014 Looking like a bad season for the Cowboys, Giants, Redskins, Bears and Chiefs... in addition to the group that would be expected to be terrible (JAX, CLE, STL, etc) Of course Seattle, Denver and San Francisco are the class of the field... Tentative thumbs up for Atlanta, Cincy, Detroit and Arizona to be surprises.
Guesty Posted 12 September 2014 Posted 12 September 2014 Adrian Peterson been deactivated this week and possibly for longer as he's being brought up on charges of child abuse. Unlucky any Vikings fans. People saying he should be let off as he was just disciplining his kid, yet from the pictures he left scars - so others not exactly buying it. After Rice I could see him being banned for a while.
GingerrrFox Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 Adrian Peterson is done in the NFL. If Ray Rice is suspended indefinitely for punching his angry wife during a heated argument, then Peterson has to get the same punishment, if not worse for beating a helpless 4 year old with a tree branch so bad that he left him with cuts and bruises down his back, bum and legs. He even hit the kid in the scrotum for FFS! He is done.
Nalis Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 Its a shame as he's obviously our best player but what he's done is crazy and he deserves all the punishment he's going to get. I follow the Vikings on FB and surprise surprise there's not a peep of it from them. Also, surprisingly lower amount of comments than usual on the Vikings FB which make me believe that a lot of comments have been deleted...
