Chug Laguna Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 We need a damn kicker. So frustrating to me as that's the position I played as a youth and literally there's no emphasis put on it. Two losses, both because they can't be assed to get a freaking kicker.
General Smuts Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 Nice win for the panthers. Boooooo Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I could be an NFL kicker, they only do straight lines from about thirty yards tops, don't they? Piece of piss. Easiest job in sport!!
Finnegan Posted 8 October 2014 Posted 8 October 2014 That Stimmo bit might actually be a lie tbh. I remember being told he'd gone to the NFL when he retired but I was young and stupid. Wikipedia thinks it's bollocks.

It must be harder than it looks as misses from 35 yards are very common in college football. It looks a piece of piss though.

Finnegan Posted 8 October 2014 Posted 8 October 2014 Are there any kickers that have other roles? Even within special teams? Kicker / punt returner, that'd be a laugh. Leigh Halfpenny anyone? I imagine they're wrapped up in cotton wool and generally considered too small for other roles though?

I imagine they're wrapped up in cotton wool and generally considered too small for other roles though? Them or more usually the snap holder pick up the ball and run ot throw it sometimes on a 4th down trick play to get a 1st...top kickers in their prime though would be treated with cotton wool, Vinitieri was on about 3million a year for the kickers job at one point, obscene money. It's widely rumoured that David Beckham did actually try out numerous times in private but couldn't make the grade, it is far different from kicking a rugby ball or football, twice as heavy for a start.
Finnegan Posted 8 October 2014 Posted 8 October 2014 I've had a go kicking an American football from hand and from a tee and didn't find it too bad, really, in terms of weight and movement. That's from having kicked a rugby ball about, mind, I can imagine a football player struggling significantly more than a rugby player.
Itsthejoeker Posted 8 October 2014 Posted 8 October 2014 Locker injured already How on earth did we let the Browns come back with a lead of 25?!
Chug Laguna Posted 9 October 2014 Posted 9 October 2014 Locker injured already How on earth did we let the Browns come back with a lead of 25?! Tennessee are an absolutely awful, awful team and Jake Locker is barely fit to wear a headset on the sidelines? And I like Tennessee
bovril Posted 12 October 2014 Posted 12 October 2014 Watching Jets Broncos. Well hello there Jenny Dell.
Narborough_fox Posted 12 October 2014 Posted 12 October 2014 38-0 down and it's not even half-time. Jesus Christ.
syston_fox Posted 12 October 2014 Posted 12 October 2014 Utterly ridiculous from the Packers. Victory dance!
Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 12 October 2014 Posted 12 October 2014 Truly incredible win for the Cowboys. After all these years of failure this season is already a success.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 13 October 2014 Posted 13 October 2014 This is the most excited I've been for an NFL game in years, for some reason - falling in love with the Eagles all over again and I ****ing hate the Giants. Lump on NY if you're a betting man.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 13 October 2014 Posted 13 October 2014 Lump on NY if you're a betting man. Maybe not, this has been brilliant.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 13 October 2014 Posted 13 October 2014 Not looking great for Victor Cruz...
Itsthejoeker Posted 13 October 2014 Posted 13 October 2014 Tennessee are an absolutely awful, awful team and Jake Locker is barely fit to wear a headset on the sidelines? And I like Tennessee Well at least we'll be in a good position to get a 1st pick QB from the draft Consolation win against Jags was almost thrown away last night too, pathetic!
Guesty Posted 17 October 2014 Posted 17 October 2014 Percy Harvin to the Jets for a mid-round draft pick. As a Seahawks fan I didn't see this coming. I suppose it frees up money for the salary cap and Harvin has reputation for being difficult to deal with (apparently Wilson isn't too fond of him). Given how much we gave up to get him it looks bad, but if it's not working then better to just make one mistake instead of another one and keeping him around
pooleyLCFC Posted 20 October 2014 Posted 20 October 2014 Peyton Manning breaking the record to become the NFL leader for touchdown passes, makes it even more impressive how he had to teach himself to throw again after his injury problems http://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/redskins/peyton-manning-on-his-neck-surgeries-rehab--and-how-he-almost-didnt-make-it-back/2013/10/21/8e3b5ca6-3a55-11e3-b7ba-503fb5822c3e_story.html
Lamby Posted 25 October 2014 Posted 25 October 2014 Should be a decent game again tomorrow at Wembley, hoping for a Falcons win due to the Lions ties with Millwall.
