lgfualol Posted 27 September 2014 Posted 27 September 2014 I gave cambiasso 8 thought he was excellent. Definitely one of the best players. Would rather have had Hammond go off before him.
One Legged Beaver Posted 27 September 2014 Posted 27 September 2014 Predicting an 80% approval rating of Pearson this week.
Guest ttfn Posted 27 September 2014 Posted 27 September 2014 Schmeichel 6.5 - A couple of decent stops. Couldn't really do much about either goal. De Laet 5 - Bolasie gave him a tough time and he kept losing the ball on the right touchline in the first half. Morgan 5 - HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOF Moore 6 - At least one great tackle, otherwise not exactly imposing. Konchesky 5 - Average Cambiasso 6 - Can't see where these 8 out of 10s are coming from to be honest. Looked to give the ball away a lot but marshalled the midfield well when he was on. Hammond 4.5 - Not good enough for games when we're on the front foot. Drinkwater 5 - At least he wants the ball all the time, but he gave the ball away way too much. Nugent 5 - Completely ineffective. Missed a great chance, but a waste of a shirt at the tip of a diamond against a side without a deep lying creative player. Vardy 5 - Missed a great chance, didn't play in Nugent when he should have. Should have had a pen. Ulloa 5 - Barely worth rating him given the lack of service. subs: Simpson 5.5 - Marginally better than De Laet. Mahrez 5 - One great pass, one spectacular piece of cowardice in bottling out of a 70/30 with (I think) Delaney. James 7 - Our best player and he only played 15 minutes. Get him in the side.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 27 September 2014 Posted 27 September 2014 Definitely one of the best players. Would rather have had Hammond go off before him. Yes Hammond should have gone off first I agree, but Esteban waswas also poor I thought. Passing wasnt as good as it has been and set pieces were off. Wasnt the worst though. I gave everyone 4-6 markings
Corky Posted 27 September 2014 Posted 27 September 2014 Schmeichel- 6 (Good save from Puncheon, couldn't do a lot about the goals) De Laet- 4 (Maybe the early challenge hampered him but Bolasie gave him a torrid time) Morgan- 5 (Defended ok, passing was awful) Moore- 5 Konchesky- 5 Hammond- 5 (Looked slow on the ball) Drinkwater- 5 (Not his best display) Cambiasso- 6 (Best of an average midfield) Nugent- 5 Vardy- 5 (Should've scored early on) Ulloa- 5 (Given poor service and struggled to make an impact) Subs- Mahrez- 3 (I like you Riyad but that was shocking) Simpson- 5 James- 7 (Wasn't on long and showed more purpose, drive and composure than everyone else)
Dickov22 Posted 27 September 2014 Posted 27 September 2014 Kasper 6 Nothing he could do about the goals. De Laet 4 Given such a hard time by Bolasie Morgan 6 Did ok Moore 6 See Wes Konchesky 5 Poor Hammond 6 Couple of decent interceptions but didn't impose himself on the game enough Drinkwater 5 Such poor performance from him. Gave the ball away so often Cambiasso 5 Can't understand the decent ratings. Gave the ball away and looked off the pace quite a few times Nugent 5 Rubbish Vardy 5 Gets a minus point for the silly booking Ulloa 5 Couldn't control the ball and was dominated in the air James 7 The best of a bad bunch, has to play every week for me. Such a good player Mahrez 4 Completely ineffective Simpson 6 Thought he did ok and got forward fairly well too We lacked width and were dominated in the air. Thought McArthur, Jedinak and Bolasie were all excellent for Palace. We couldn't break them down. Onwards to next week! Need to forget about this game
Sampson Posted 27 September 2014 Posted 27 September 2014 Disagree with people saying Schmeichel couldn't do anything about the first. He could'v been commanding and come and collected the corner instead of timidly standing still n his line.
Dan Posted 28 September 2014 Posted 28 September 2014 Largely fours and fives. Gave Drinkwater a two. Genuinely think it was the worst game he's had for us. Maybe I've been harsh though based on everyone else.
Harry - LCFC Posted 28 September 2014 Posted 28 September 2014 I dunno, I don't think it was that bad. Both teams created similar amounts of chances and neither really dominated. A mediocre game where Palace edged past where it could easily have been a draw. Just didn't attack the game like we normally do, don't know why that was.
Dan Posted 28 September 2014 Posted 28 September 2014 I think Palace got their tactics spot on, but that doesn't change how poor we were and Drinkwater really did stand out as being poor to me today. The theory that the result often reflects his performance lives on and on.
Stuliasz Posted 28 September 2014 Posted 28 September 2014 We performed poorly but you have to give a bit of credit to Crystal Palace too. Constant pressing and won most of the individual battles. Little things like stopping Cambiasso's quick free kicks makes me think they did their homework and got rewarded for it. It's a shame we didn't have the confidence to keep it on the floor despite their pressing, way too many early long balls. Anyway my ratings are: Schmeichel 6 De Laet 5 Morgan 5 Moore 6 Konchesky 6 Hammond 5 Cambiasso 6 Drinkwater 6 Vardy 5 Nugent 6 Ulloa 5
anstey blueboy Posted 28 September 2014 Posted 28 September 2014 credit where credit is due, CP did there home work, they didn`t give our midfield any time on the ball, won 90% of the 50/50 balls and imo the players were still thinking about the manu game
Foxes1 Posted 28 September 2014 Posted 28 September 2014 Palace knew what we were going to do and the system we play, fair play to them they sussed the danger men out. Think we may have done better if last weeks game against Man Ure wasn't on Sky they probably wouldn't have known our tactics.
Monsell1976 Posted 28 September 2014 Posted 28 September 2014 All 5 out of 10 for me, by the high standards set, the whole team performance was disappointing
Stadt Posted 28 September 2014 Posted 28 September 2014 All 5s bar Cambiasso who got a 6. Pearson 4. Ref 5 Palace 6, they were the better side obviously but they weren't anything special and I'd still expect us to finish above them come May.
dmayne7 Posted 28 September 2014 Posted 28 September 2014 Despite the descriptions, this is where people's differing opinion on what constitutes what rating can distort the figures. For me all 6's (Average, slightly below par) apart from 7 Konchesky (They had very little down that side) and 5 for Drinkwater who was poor. The way I saw his performance would probably constitute a 3 from some people. The worst I think I could ever see myself rating a player is a 3 and that would probably be the result of gifting multiple goals to the opposition and doing next to nothing right. Nobody was awful but everybody bar Konch was below par.

It sounds like, based on what is proscribed there, they were all 5s and Konchesky a 6...
Silverdaz Posted 29 September 2014 Posted 29 September 2014 Hammond and Nugent were 8 for me as I think they were the only players who showed energy and urgency
suffolk fox Posted 29 September 2014 Posted 29 September 2014 People slag Warnock off but he did a job on us albeit a typical Warnock style side bullying and harrying wouldn't want to watch how they play every week. Hammond was woeful and he shouldn't start against Burnley. Mahres was like the little kid at school please don't bully me you big brutes. Cambiasso got kicked numerous times both on and off the ball. Ulloa tried hard but they did put two men on him and he had his shirt pulled most of the game which again went unpunished. Drinkwater fell into the Hammond school of football by only being able to pass sideways and backwards at times to no one in particular. Big Wes kept hoofing it up the pitch to their tall monster like bully boy centre halves. Moore had a good game, and I thought Konchesky did too. APart from the two goals from set pieces they rarely troubled Kasper in goal. Solid cameo by Simpson Nugent and Vardy no real service although Vardy should have done better with the first chance of the game and hit it first time. Np got this one tactically wrong should have set up like we did away at Chelsea fell into the trap of oh we beat Utd I will stick to the same team and tactics. You can't do that away from home in this league especially against a big bullying Stoke like team.
