Silverdaz Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 Why oh Why didnt the St Johns medics eake him off the pitch instead of walking straight across the pitch doesnt make sense when he was only just near the touchline. P.s hope it isnt too serious because he is a cracking player

P.s hope it isnt too serious because he is a cracking player He was right by the touchline too Dowd could have asked both him and the trainer to move off the pitch in order play could continue. However, if it had been one of our. Players we would have done the same.
DB11 Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 Because a player that is injured needs the quickest and most direct route off the pitch to receive treatment ASAP?

Babylon Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 Only bit that annoyed me was he got up walked a couple of steps and his feet were just about over the line and he sat back down again on the pitch. Only doing it for his team I know and we'd probably do the same, but it's bloody frustrating.
Silverdaz Posted 6 October 2014 Author Posted 6 October 2014 What would happen if the ball smacked a Stretcher barer and they dropped him. Fair enough I suppose just was a bit frustating how long it took
Soar Fox Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 Whilst Trippier's injury was frustrating I was more annoyed and embarrassed by one of our own players. Mahrez in the first half, went down like he'd been shot, could have caused more injury to himself with the pathetic rolling around he did. Then within 10 seconds he was back on his feet. Our own player or not I hate seeing footballers do that and hopefully Pearson has a word with him about that sort of behaviour.
KFS Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Kieran Trippier has two legs? One of which was attached to the injured ankle? Considering he actually got up and hobbled on the left leg, why could he not hop half a metre off the side of the pitch?
JIMMYWILLIS Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 Because a player that is injured needs the quickest and most direct route off the pitch to receive treatment ASAP? Last thing he needed was St johns then...slower than Howard
peach0000 Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 For me the worst thing was how he was told to try and stand up when he was in no state to do that. That could have caused more damage than the injury. Also with Burnley 2-1 down on 80 mins and pressing for a goal the last thing they would have done is intentionally time waste.
Babylon Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Kieran Trippier has two legs? One of which was attached to the injured ankle? Considering he actually got up and hobbled on the left leg, why could he not hop half a metre off the side of the pitch? He could have, that's what's annoying. But it's no different to what our players would do (you you don't carry on with 10 men). It's hard to be too angry about it, it's just bloody frustrating.
Bamba's Babes Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 What would happen if the ball smacked a Stretcher barer and they dropped him. We'd all laugh?
promised land Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 Because a player that is injured needs the quickest and most direct route off the pitch to receive treatment ASAP? Quickest? They hardly moved quick walking back over to the tunnel, no rush at all.
DB11 Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 Quickest? They hardly moved quick walking back over to the tunnel, no rush at all. So you're saying it would have been quicker for them to walk round the pitch?
leicesterisme Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 Because a player that is injured needs the quickest and most direct route off the pitch to receive treatment ASAP? Come off it, that extra 30 seconds to walk round the pitch wasn't going to harm him. He wasn't going to die.
DB11 Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 Come off it, that extra 30 seconds to walk round the pitch wasn't going to harm him. He wasn't going to die. How much quicker or direct is irrelevant. It was asked why he went off the pitch instead of round and the answer is true.
Webbo Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 Why would a Burnley player waste time when they were losing? The man had an injury so bad he had to be stretchered off and some people are are moaning about having to wait an extra 30 seconds for the game to restart.
Babylon Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 Why would a Burnley player waste time when they were losing? It's not about wasting time, it was about them not being down to 10 men for a minute or so while they got a sub ready. Nobody is suggesting he was playing for time. He was doing what any good pro would do and staying on the pitch so as not to leave his team down to 10 men. Bloody infuriating to watch, but no different to what I'd want our player to do.
The Doctor Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Kieran Trippier has two legs? One of which was attached to the injured ankle? Considering he actually got up and hobbled on the left leg, why could he not hop half a metre off the side of the pitch? He could have, but it's worth noting we were on the counter at the time - why hop or roll off to the physio waiting to be let on and get treatment, when you can wait 10 seconds, get treatment and move the opposition back from your half to their own box? It's what any player would do, but it's also infuriating to watch.
Buzzell Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 To everyone that think's Trippier was time wasting.
Dickov22 Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 Because give someone a fluorescent jacket, and they'll become a jobs worth. It wouldn't have done him any harm if they'd walked around the pitch.
Carl the Llama Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 This thread's an embarrassment. One of their key players gets injured and we're somehow making out that it gave them an unfair advantage? Fvck off.
