lgfualol Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 Twitter is shit. Stringer does love shit stirring though.
the messenger Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 I disagree stringers has every right to question pearson he is a reporter/broadcaster that's his job! Pearson is in self denial, to sensitive and can't give honest answers to perfectly good questions. WHERE DO THE F!!! DO WE GO FROM HERE!
LAprice_ Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 Bollocks. He's just doing his job. Just doing his job? That's the exact line he uses every week when talking to Pearson. Please don't use that same empty remark. He takes advantage of his "job" to push through his own opinions and force his way to the top. I could understand his controversial, attention seeking style if he worked for a tabloid newspaper but no, he works for a supposedly neutral media corporation.

Riot Van Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 Has stringer deleted his twitter? I can't find it
Mark_w Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 If it's his job to be annoying, generally unlikeable and to alienate himself from the best source he has access to then he's doing it marvelously.

Pearson is in self denial, to sensitive and can't give honest answers to perfectly good questions. WHERE DO THE F!!! DO WE GO FROM HERE! Stringer doesn't question Pearson - he's trying to lead him to the guillotine almost week in, week out. Pearson has yet to fall for it - although he was close again post-match tonight. Isn't there a BBC code of conduct somewhere? Because I'm pretty sure Stringer is crossing the boundaries more often than he's willing to admit.
Corky Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 Sad that we'll lose a talented manager long before we get rid of the reality TV show failure from the radio station. Losing is not in his vocabulary apparently. Yet seems to revel in struggle and defeat as it stokes up debate for idiots to call the phone in wittering on about pashun, Martin O'Neill and Pearson not being a bloke to have a pint with. If Pearson goes I hope Stringer goes with him.
Dan Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 a lot of hate for him. I've thought for a while he's a self-interested nobhead who gives all the bollocks about how big a fan he is yet will still do anything he can to act like a ****ing Sun writer regarding us. What did he actually say tonight?
Tom17LCFC Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 haha replying to tweets about pearson being under pressure. what a sad little man.
ozleicester Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 Pearson (rightly or worngly) abuses fans... Stringer asks him about it. Where is the problem? He is not a protected species and is more than capable of dealing with interviews, and its stringers job to tell me whats going on and get answers. Stop protecting NP, hes a big boy and more than capable.

Guest MattP Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 His baiting of Pearson sounds ten times worse when you remember his complete arse licking of Sven. Even after Sven had spunked 50 million on taking a team backwards in the Championship Stringer barely mentioned a word about his job, a courtesy he has never afforded Nigel. The bloke is a typical attention seeking reality show misfit and the sooner we see the back of him the better for all concerned.
Riot Van Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 Good for you. But i have't tweeted to him so im confused...

Brooksy Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 Absolute cvnt. Does he bollocks support Leicester. Only interested in enhancing his own career.
Manwell Pablo Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 I rarely take to twitter but his conduct since the "does that spell the end for Nigel Pearson" comment has been abysmal so I've had a dig.
inckley fox Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 He did his job in asking about the accusations because it was a new and relevant story which he'd never asked him about before. He wasn't doing his job in asking about job security because it was not a new story and he had asked him about it before. He'd simply run out of relevant questions because he hadn't prepared for his interview properly. There were many relevant performance-based questions which could have been asked, and open questions which encourage Pearson to share his knowledge as a tactician and a football manager. But asking about the accusations has highlighted a very fair point - which is that Pearson needs to look in-house for solutions, rather than for people on the outside he can blame. If players like James are saying they can't put their 'finger on what's wrong', then the manager should be letting them know. And how on earth did Stringer not pick up on this comment before he interviewed Pearson? In other words, Pearson appears to be papering over cracks as best he can in order to defend his players. Fine. But those players need to know where the cracks are - and it sounds like they don't.

You'd know that if you spent more time following the club as opposed to searching the internet for the latest goldfish injustice in Outer Mongolia.

He is not a protected species and is more than capable of dealing with interviews, and its stringers job to tell me whats going on and get answers. Stop protecting NP, hes a big boy and more than capable. I don't rate Stringer but, - like you say - why on earth would anybody feel the need to protect Pearson on this? Criticism might be due to the interviewer, but in an age where our club's wealth is built on media coverage more than attendances, why on earth should the manager get away with an easy ride from them? I'd just like to see him put under pressure with questions which get at footballing specifics, and what people think is going wrong at the moment, rather than asking the same old same old.
inckley fox Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 If it was a stand alone incident I'd probably put up with it. He's been working the angle for weeks. You'd know that if you spent more time following the club as opposed to searching the internet for the latest goldfish injustice in Outer Mongolia. I suppose the problem is that the 'Pearson confronting fans' thing isn't standalone either. It tends to crop up in the middle of, as opposed to at the end of, runs of very poor form. I hope Pearson doesn't look back at this season in years to come and wonder why he didn't spend more time impressing on his players what they need to do to meet the required standard, and less on defending them from the people who pay their wages (by which I'm referring to the media more than I am the fans). I am still shocked to have heard a Leicester player saying he had no idea what is going wrong. Pearson has to look at when things have gone wrong for him in the past, and what hasn't been especially helpful in terms of helping to overcome it. Outrageous defences of the indefensible ('our defence was very good' - for two consecutive games in which we conceded a total of six goals!), attacks on outsiders ('people can stay at home if they don't like it' - in February 2013 and December 2014, not to mention numerous remonstrations against fans by the likes of Konchesky, Marshall, Drinkwater) should be among them. Stringer comes across badly because the questions he asks aren't open ones which invite the manager to share his expert analysis. But I'm afraid to say that what a lot of people will have gleaned from that Pearson interview was 'we're doing exactly as well as I'd hope us to be doing, and if you're expecting something more then you can **** off.' And you have to be doing a lot better than a side rock bottom of the table to get away with that kind of talk.
Robin JD Popley Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 For me, I understand Nigel's sentiment that yes - you can stay home if you like - but also, there is no need to use the language he did to demonstrate his point. People swear all the time (rightly or wrongly) but when you are in the public eye and in a position such as his, tact is key and I think tonight he has let himself down massively. As for the post match interview...well, I think most of what I feel has already been covered. Vichai and Aiwayatt will feel quite let down I think - the Thai people are a proud and honourable people. So, yes. Lessons need to be learnt.
