sylofox Posted 10 December 2014 Posted 10 December 2014 , I think I do, it's our turn to say" those were the days" . Would love to get the old terraces back, won't happen. Took my kids Peterborough away the other season, so they got to experience an old terrace, they loved it, my lad got squashed at the front and my daughter was shocked when random people hug you when we scored, remember this black guy in his 40's hugging everyone . But after all the stories I told them of the old pens, after they sampled a bit of it, they could see why it was great, and they wish it would come back. Did you stand to one side and throw 2p's at them at 100mph lol Then they would have got the full feeling lol Really glad they enjoyed it all joking apart. Saying that if we get pboro in the next round of the cup and you get them tickets I'll bring a bag of small change. lol

LCFCtotheprem Posted 10 December 2014 Posted 10 December 2014 We need to improve the atmosphere in the kop!! We need more standing and make it like a blue wall like the Dortmund yellow wall. Their support is class even when they were bottom. Make the most of the prem and let's get behind the players
ronnup Posted 10 December 2014 Posted 10 December 2014 It'll start well. They'll score a few. We will go silent. Then it'll hecome ironically cheering Man city as it goes to 5 or 6 nil. No Aguero, but Dzeko is brilliant anyway and this will be an absolute panelling.

They are putting up a b&q shed for the home fans to use and moving the away fans to the other end.
The Blue Moon Posted 10 December 2014 Posted 10 December 2014 FVCK OFF. I like many years ago are from the county we stood in pen2 and sang and supported our side and still do. I do not get to many games now but anyone that has seen me at a game would never question my support. I know lads from Market Harboro loughborough and many villages that support us well and have over many years. Band wagon fans yes but don't slag off fans from the county I have been at away games with 6 or 7 hundred and we have had 2 coaches from harboro and the villages. Also where do you get the fact from do all fans have a badge on now so you know where they are from. Apologies for late response. Fact is yes there are a few good lads from the county but the main support in the 80s and 90s were from the likes of Thurnby Lodge, New Parks, Braunstone, Monsell/The Saff, St Matts/Marks, Beaumont Leys, West End, etc. These areas still have loyal City fans who would love to go the games but can't justify £40 a ticket on a regular basis, or disillusioned fans who've had it with the shit atmosphere since we've moved to the new ground. They are being phased out. I do remember the days of the Hinckley lads in the kop, and there were lads from Harborough, even Ibstock. But they were the minority. The majority of fans from these well to do areas have come in since the new ground, brought their Mrs along with them, happy clapped in their replica shirt and ruined the football for everyone else. For me, those fans will never be welcome at the City and should get down the Tigers instead.

What about those, like me, who perhaps haven't lived in Leicester and were too young to properly follow City before we moved into the new stadium? Are the only decent supporters those from in and around the city? 'Cos that seems to be what you are saying?
veezeeblue Posted 11 December 2014 Posted 11 December 2014 I remember when this thread used to be good waaaaaaay back in the beginning then things got real bad real quick now it's fvcking terrible things will never be the same again i'm going to some 3rd division thread where I can talk real football
AndWhat? Posted 11 December 2014 Posted 11 December 2014 To be fair, what Blue Moon is saying is sort of correct. And that's coming from a Harborough lad who doesn't shut up all game....The areas he mentioned are obviously pourer areas than the counties and just like a lot of other members of society they have been priced out. The working class guys are the ones who are more likely to get a few beers down them and make a bit of a ruckus, but as the prices have gone up the demographic of our fan base has changed, meaning only people who can afford to go fill the stadium!Think that's quite obvious really.Posh twats don't sing and scum bags do.
Babylon Posted 11 December 2014 Posted 11 December 2014 I must be posh being from the county.... never knew Wigston was posh.

On that point, I fvcking hate people from Harborough who will gleefully support their local rugby team but follow Liverpool/Man U etc when it comes to football. Leicestershire's a one club county and always has been. Personally reckon there's not much difference in the proportion of "tossers" to "lads" whichever town you come from - including the city, which has some pretty well-to-do areas itself.
Livid Posted 11 December 2014 Posted 11 December 2014 I must be posh being from the county.... never knew Wigston was posh. I'll see your Wigston and raise with Co'ville. Posh

Know a surprising amount of people who do just that! Even worse, they actually WANT Leicester to lose!
James. Posted 11 December 2014 Posted 11 December 2014 Posh isn't quite the word I would use when I look around me at the fans in the KP.
C-man Posted 11 December 2014 Posted 11 December 2014 Yeah the turnip abusing NP last week was a right posh cvnt.
The Blue Moon Posted 11 December 2014 Posted 11 December 2014 I must be posh being from the county.... never knew Wigston was posh. Don't recall seeing many lads from Wigston back then. But yes, Wigston is posh compared to the other areas I listed (South Wig estate is the nearest thing to it). Nowadays the ground is full of people from Oadby and Wigston etc etc.

Soup Posted 11 December 2014 Posted 11 December 2014 I'm from New Parks but now live in Stoneygate,i'm confused now.
Guest Col city fan Posted 11 December 2014 Posted 11 December 2014 Glen Parva..not posh, not Council.. Somewhere in the middle..bout right.
I blame Wellens Posted 11 December 2014 Posted 11 December 2014 Glenfield is where the 'real' city fans are.
BlueSi13 Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 You would actually think after 10 long years out of the Premier League our fans would be up for it every game but no. We've had what one maybe two good games at home all others have been shit simple as.. and I've been slagged off on here. People need to wake up and smell the coffee So just like the players then? 8 defeats in 10 matches and no win since the 21st of September. Absolutely desperate football at times (totally outplayed by Aston Villa FFS). Rock bottom of the Premier League. Is it any wonder the fans are subdued?
Guest MattP Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 Glenfield is where the 'real' city fans are.Damn right. I agree with James though, the last thing I think when I look at our support is that it's 'posh'. Get yourself to the Queens club tennis or the Henley Regatta and you'll see posh sports fans.
Babylon Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 Don't recall seeing many lads from Wigston back then. We don't walk around with badges on.
