Pearson Nigel Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 You know my thoughts .......... He has presence!
ozleicester Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 Very good piece and i didnt know this.... "..: ‘Liam’s on four bookings. If he goes on and gets booked, he won’t be available for Aston Villa at the weekend’. .’’
C-man Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 Yeah thought that Liam Moore decision was interesting and shows exactly why fans shouldn't rush to judge and question substitutions. At the time I, and plenty around me, were thinking it was suicide going three at the back or sticking with Konch at LCB. But now it makes sense. It's a shame the local press would never manage to get such insight from NP - they simply don't have the ability to ask the right questions. I hope he knows the majority of us still love him. King Pearson
Guest ttfn Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 It's not a very challenging "interview" though is it? It's obviously well written (Winter is brilliant) but it's not even attempted to ask any questions that might offer insight beyond one aborted substitution. Are people really more interested in that than perhaps Pearson trying to offer some tactical or other insight on why we're on an enormous run of games without a win? I love Nige, and I love how he comes across in these sorts of interviews but frankly it seems like a bit of a fluff piece to accompany the one written back in April or whenever it was that Winter last wrote a similar piece.
Bunyip Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 None of that article hides the fact that he is a crap manager who is going to get us relegated. The amount of bum licking on here is nauseous.

I agree to an extent, but why would Winter ask those questions? Nobody outside of Leicester is interested in that sort of stuff so he has to work the angle that people might read. We as fans of course are interested in the questions you asked, that's what's so annoying. We don't have anyone in the local press capable of unlocking Pearson to the extent Winter does. It all comes down to trust, Pearson clearly has none with the Stringer and co, and it's hard not to blame him.

The amount of people on here with zero respect for a manager who has achieved more than most for us is also nauseating.

Stringer is obviously pretty shit at getting anything constructive out of Pearson, but if I was NP I'd be a lot more receptive to somebody asking me questions about Schmeichel's injury and my walking holidays than 10 match winless runs. That is absolutely not to say that Stringer's sensationalist commentary and cack-handed questioning is excusable - it's not - but he has to ask questions that Winter doesn't need to go anywhere near (and maybe hasn't tried to go anywhere near).

I honestly cant believe what I read on here sometimes. its like everyone has forgot about last season, fickle fickle fans. no loyalty whats so ever.

No loyalty I can forgive, people just want the best for the club and all out opinions differ on what that is. Respect costs nothing though, whether you think he'll keep us up or not people should still be able to appreciate what he's done for us and treat the bloke accordingly. As another Telegraph reporter wrote about the other day. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/11282684/Premier-League-managers-are-now-little-more-than-lightning-rods-for-owners-and-punchbags-for-fans.html

CosbehFox Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 It's not a very challenging "interview" though is it? . Basically it's Nige using the PR machine, he's probably invited Henry Winter in his office after yesterday's pre match conference. Good content mind, it's Nige using the media got the purpose of giving his knockers some grief.
artursteppe Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 Is everyone who wants to cuddle Pearson on this thread. Pearson is arrogant, he thrives on easy 'ain't we chums Nigey baby' type questions. Stringer is incisive and does not give a sh*t about the type of questions that need to be asked. If we have played well, stringer will say so and be complimentary. If we have not played well and selection appears to have been wrong, and the attitude on the pitch has been poor, and the players confidence is low, and people get booked or sent off, and this is the umteenth time all these things have happened, it is very right that the local journalist asks all the questions necessary to give the interested supporters the opportunity to find out what Pearson thinks of it all, and what he plans to do about it all. Pearson is not there to be 'wrapped in cotton wool' by bum licking sycophantic journalists. He should be brought to task by journalists who have the balls to do it!

artursteppe Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 Great interview. Enough said.. Pussy interview!
filbertway Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 Interesting point about the Liam substitution situation, didn't realise that.
Corky Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 If and when Pearson goes I'd love the next manager to treat Stringer in the same way, so the lot who believe Nigey baby is arrogant and nasty to the smaller boys isn't alone.

Are you cuddly ken in disguise or good friends with him? I think you two would make a fabulous pairing. Similar age, similar mindset. And as for Stringer being a "journalist": Are you having a laugh? He does neither have the talent nor the qualifications for it. He's learnt his trade as he went along. In reality, he's an overeager reporter who wants to advance at all costs.
