MC Prussian Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 I'm surprised nobody has had a word with the fan shouting twat at the team. Pearson probably sought out his address, paid him a visit and gave him a nice complimentary head butt.
Stadt Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 Gordon Strachan is quite good at taking the piss out of interviewers(not that I'd want him here).
Fox92 Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 There's loads of managers that are sharp with reporters. Have you listened to Bill Shankly, Brian Clough and Alex Ferguson at times? The whole 'Nigel is arrogant' thing is a load of rubbish. Managers don't have to be media friendly and nice like Sven.

The whole 'Nigel is arrogant' thing is a load of rubbish. Managers don't have to be media friendly and nice like Sven. The "he's arrogant" stuff is because he won't do what people want him to. How arrogant for him not to listen to a load of armchair managers who don't know their arse from their elbow.
Bettsj2 Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 First bit of press from Pearson that has actually restored my faith in him a little.
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 So Pearson's arrogant is he now? That's the new accusation we're throwing around is it? Firstly, in the midst of our success last season I don't think he acted that way in the slightest and we were all praising his humility and composure. Secondly, even if he is arrogant, so what! Check what he's done for the club and his achievements here and he almost has a right to be.

Good point, can you imagine the politically correct numpties around today having to deal with watching Brian Clough 40 years ago, they wouldn't have been able to follow to game due to the stress it would have caused them. I personally love the way the football press is treated with contempt by a talented few, you can count the amount of decent football journalists on one hand these days (Henry Winter, Martin Samuel, Matt Dickinson, Tony Evans, Oliver Kay imho), most of them them sit there like a group of young schoolgirls waiting to giggle at Jose Mourinho's latest quote in his packed Sky Sports press conference (which is usually him just replying with "no" in a funny foreign accent to a question he could answer), it's absolutely pathetic. I would have paid a few hundred quid to see Stringer have to interview Brian Clough.

People tend to forget that back in the days, the standard of reporting and journalism was also different. Today, sensationalism dominates as never before. Media representatives trying to make a meal out of everything in order to promote themselves, instead of the content. The exposure you're getting nowadays is ridiculous. As a public figure, you're under much more media scrutiny and have to answer for anything.
walkerleeds Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 How many accounts do you have on here Ian? :xmaslaugh:
Babylon Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 Arrogant twat! He's laughing at the shit tattoos and beard.

The whole 'Nigel is arrogant' thing is a load of rubbish. Managers don't have to be media friendly and nice like Sven. And Shankly, Clough and Ferguson weren't arrogant at times? Point proven I think. All of them and Pearson, ( and oithers ), are arrogant at times. Fact! All this bizarre defense of Nigey Baby is quite strange really.

You should really use different IP addresses when posting from multiple accounts Arthur... how sad.
Master Fox Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 Love our Nige. Nice mention for the fans at Villa Park on Sunday. Met a few nincompoops in bar after the game. But the majority of us are behind Nige.
philayres200 Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 You should really use different IP addresses when posting from multiple accounts Arthur... how sad. Only using this one because of your pedantic attitude effecting a non freedom of speech doctrine on this site. Your disgraceful and archaic stance to deny honest opinion being available for scrutiny amongst my peers is an abject betrayal of a precious human right. Not the first time I have been banned from offering my opinions, nor the first time I have had a thread deleted for no reason, other than I have made you look ridiculous. If somehow that scenario is not accurate, I challenge you to never delete my honest opinions again, and leave this post untouched, and to re-instate my ability to add posts on this site under the name of Artursteppe. Go on, I dare you.
Ross 'LCFC' Turner Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 As Gordon Strachan once said: "Ask me a stupid question, ill give you a stupid answer"
VLC86 Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 Basically it's Nige using the PR machine, he's probably invited Henry Winter in his office after yesterday's pre match conference. Good content mind, it's Nige using the media got the purpose of giving his knockers some grief. Spot on.
Guest Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 Is everyone who wants to cuddle Pearson on this thread. Pearson is arrogant, he thrives on easy 'ain't we chums Nigey baby' type questions. Stringer is incisive and does not give a sh*t about the type of questions that need to be asked. If we have played well, stringer will say so and be complimentary. If we have not played well and selection appears to have been wrong, and the attitude on the pitch has been poor, and the players confidence is low, and people get booked or sent off, and this is the umteenth time all these things have happened, it is very right that the local journalist asks all the questions necessary to give the interested supporters the opportunity to find out what Pearson thinks of it all, and what he plans to do about it all. Pearson is not there to be 'wrapped in cotton wool' by bum licking sycophantic journalists. He should be brought to task by journalists who have the balls to do it! He doesn't give a shit about the type of questions that need to be asked you're right. Other than that it's tripe.

jamesmilner Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 i'm sorry but those that keep harping on about last season are off their nuts . there is two relevant things in football , " the league doesn't lie and that you're only as good as your last game" . last season has gone and is history , you're beginning to sound like those vile Liverpool fans and what they've done before .irrelevant, its all about now !!
Guest MattP Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 You're only as good as your last game isn't the truth, it's one of the most stupid things ever said. Do you really think Newcastle and Stoke are better than Chelsea and Arsenal at the minute purely because of the formers last game? The league table doesn't lie at the end of a season, it can lie now. I'd lay a fair whack that Soton and West Ham don't finish in the top 5.
Corky Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 So if we win tomorrow Pearson is fantastic again and no one will mention the previous ten games? Bollocks. "As good as your last game" is used to suit an argument when a team is struggling.
Harry - LCFC Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 How can a thinking person honestly say a manager/team is only as good as their last game? Does form not vary? Do players not have off days? Do the many previous games get discounted?
Unabomber Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 Newcastle are the best in England goes without saying.
The Doctor Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 None of that article hides the fact that he is a crap manager who is going to get us relegated. The amount of bum licking on here is nauseous. Crap? No. You may think he's reached his level, that he can't take us any further, but he certainly isn't crap. Perhaps it's time for him to move on, but there's no denying he's been a very good manager for us. Twice he's come to us when we've been laughing stocks, and twice he's restored our pride.
