How much would you accept for our players?

Recommended Posts

With january looming, Leicester city have always been a club with big transfer speculation overhanging,

Recently i've seen fans discussing bids for players like mahrez (who I think we would struggle to keep onto for 5m if roma or villareal came in) or vardy at the end of last season,

So it got me thinking. What would I accept if I was manager for our players right now? and I would be interested in what our fans would accept? (providing we had adequate cover for that position or a replacement sorted) so just if the player was surplus.

Kasper - 4m

Hamer - 2m

Konchesky - 250k (would struggle to get more)

Morgan - 3m

Wasilewski - 500k

Moore - 5m+ (would be less if a big club actually came in with a bid)

De Laet - 2.5m

Simpson - 2.5m (hard to judge so far)

Upson - Free

Bakayogo - Free

Mahrez - 5m+ (would be less if a big club actually came in with a bid)

Cambiasso - 2m

Drinkwater - 4/5m

James - 3m

King - 3m

Hammond - 750k

Knocky - 4/5m

Schlupp - 3.5m

Albrighton - 2.5m

Vardy - 3m

Ulloa - 5-8m

Nugent - 3m

Wood - 2m

I know many will probably disagree, but It puts a valuation on our team at 60-70m which is probably even too much considering base value of teams like stoke are around the 80-90m mark.

What would you accept for our player RIGHT NOW? (again providing we had cover for that position or a replacement lined up.

I don't get why you would want 5 million for Mahrez and Moore but would be prepared to accept less if a 'big club' (who would presumably have more wealth) came in.

Plus Wood, Nugent, Schulpp, Albrighton, Knocky, Morgan and Bakayogo have all been seriously over valued.

Vardy has proven he can tear the championship to pieces so I'd want more than 3 million if Deeney and McGoldrick are supposedly valued at 10. James and Drinkwater ran the show at that level so I'd want more than 7 for the pair.

Not sure how Morgan is worth 6 times what Wasyl is.

This is going to get messy

You know me

Because big clubs drive prices down, If roma came in and offered mahrez a first team spot in the champions league and 50k per week he would be smashing nigels door down, which would drive his price to around 5m IMO, if burnley came in they would need to shell out 8m for a player we rate highly and wouldnt really be bothered about moving too...

Wood, schlupp and knockaert are all young raw players who could be shaped into something good so could potentially hold out for more.

Bakayogo overvalued, should we pay to get rid of him??  lol

Morgan is 4 years younger than wasilewski and still have a few years left in him, Was is on his last legs completely IMO, paying 2-2.5m more for a player who can actually play for another 4 years is probably not overvaluing him.. we paid 1m for him, and he proved he's a championship player at least. 2/3m for a proven championship captain is not alot.

with regard to vardy do you think a proven championship and unproven premiership player would command more than 3-4m now? You're going on the valuation of those players BEFORE the season started..  months in, Deeney and mcgoldrick are still scoring, vardy is proving he cant... Plus come summer being leicester we are typically raved about by the media as moneybags paying anything for average players... There is a reason we didn't get mcgoldrick or deeney, and it's not because we didn't pay enough.

I think albrighton could command 2.5m based on his experience at this level, hes still quite young and has the ability to play at this level if given a decent run.

again you're going on championship season to value players who have been below average in the premiership...

Drinkwater I think is better than james, but I wouldn't expect more than 7m-8m for the pair..

I'd happily swap them both for Claudio Yacob and mulumbu who you could pick up for around 8m the pair with their contracts running out.

You've based your opinion on our CHAMPIONSHIP season, thats gone now.. we are in the premiership and the reality is, we couldnt get alot for our players right now... we are bottom.. and only championship teams would come in for them...

In my experience if someone wants someone or something so badly it drives the price up not down, with Mahrez LCFC hold the best hand as they have his name on a contract which runs until 2017.

Maybe if a club was desperate to sell the price may go down but I'm sure the owners have enough in their bank to ride that storm and put him in the U21s if he decides he doesn't want to play ball.

That will do alot for players in the future and current team morale

"If a life changing opportunity arrives at leicester and they dont match what the club value you at, they will just drop you into the under 21's if you dont want to play ball"

I know what you are saying.. but a team bottom of the league and looking like going down.. we dont hold any cards to teams like roma...

do you really rate mahrez a champions league player?? We wouldnt be able to hold out for 8m for him he's not even proven... We want 15-20x+ profit in 12 months?? not in a million years.

I don't know what we would be prepared to accept but I'd say we wouldn't accept anything less than our target figure whether it was Roma or Barcelona, it's all about brinkmanship and maybe that's what Robinson wasn't good enough at.

Kasper - 4m - fair

Hamer - 2m - would say £1m

Konchesky - 250k (would struggle to get more) - free

Morgan - 3m - £1m

Wasilewski - 500k - free

Moore - 5m+ (would be less if a big club actually came in with a bid) fair apart from big club nonsense

De Laet - 2.5m - £1-£1.5m

Simpson - 2.5m (hard to judge so far) £1.5m

Upson - Free

Bakayogo - Free

Mahrez - 5m+ (would be less if a big club actually came in with a bid) again fair but big club nonsense

Cambiasso - 2m - free

Drinkwater - 4/5m - £2.5m-£3m

James - 3m fair

King - 3m £2m

Hammond - 750k - free

Knocky - 4/5m - £2.5m

Schlupp - 3.5m - £1.5m

Albrighton - 2.5m - £1m

Vardy - 3m fair

Ulloa - 5-8m fair

Nugent - 3m £1m tops

Wood - 2m - £1m tops

Ulloa 5-8m I am at a loss with.

5 months ago we paid 10m his scoring record is not bad in a poor side going forward and you have halfed his value.

Perhaps the reason TR was sacked.
