Fa cup coverage

Well obviously lol but it is to purely to pay for bbc. Which is shocking

Nah it goes to other companies as well.

If you think about it £14 a month and you get all the BBC services compared to BT sport where you just get some channels

The FA Cup coverage has been nothing short of appalling. Shit match choices and only two on BBC.

Standard of football nowadays though. Sell-outs.

spent years waiting for the bbc to get the cup back and chiles aside it's literally no better than itv. shame.

Just seen the half time analysis. Bullard dressed like a right ponce.

Looks like he's just rolled in from some seedy nightclub.

He's dressed like a low level Russell Brand

shearer next to bullard couldn't be more of a contrast. why's shearer fully suited up? top button and tie and everything?! he going out after or something

To be honest, unless youre a fan of the clubs, i dont Dover v Palace or Blyth Spartans v Birmingham pulling in the TV audience to watch either to be honest.

It would be interesting to see what the viewing figures and interest is like in the FA cup on terrestrial TV, particularly in the early rounds.

You could've given me those above as well as Yeovil v Man United any day over Arsenal v Hull.

Liverpool tonight is a different matter as I take any opportunity to watch them possibly fail

I find BT Sport unwatchable, can't handle Jake Humphrey's smugness and Michael Owen telling me how quick "the ball's whuzzen pasht yer"

Never had it at home but seems shocking when I've seen it in action at the Counting House

You'd better start to enjoy them because they're gonna become the face of the Champions League from next season.

It will be criminal if (when) Humphrey is the lead on UCL over the excellent James Richardson, and Michael Owen remains the lead co-comm. But that's for another thread to moan about.

Let's just hope tonight's fourth round draw throws up some decent ties else it'll be a snooze fest just like the rest of this competition so far.

It's been disappointing but I'll them the benefit of doubt regarding not having a Saturday game as most prem clubs didn't want to play until Sunday at least. To have your most interesting televised game on a Monday night is ridiculous.

We didnt get 1 game on AUS and not 1 highlight on Pay or Free to Air news or sports service!

I doubt we'll be doing a pre season in Australia anytime soon then.

They seem to be trying to sell something that just isn't there, unfortunately it has been devalued and seen as a hindrance. The League Cup has never been loved yet that seems far more exciting than the FA Cup currently.

Fans should want their team to win and I would love our name on the trophy, but let us watch the match rather than decide for us what should be happening and how magical it is. This isn't 1976, it's 2015 and football has moved on. The pundits and commentators can't complain when top clubs don't take it seriously as they themselves lose interest in it all when it becomes routine for the better sides in a bottom division or lower v top flight clash. See Dover v Crystal Palace yesterday.

It's still worthy and relevant but it's not magical any more.

Id go with this, mostly.

Luton did knock out Norwich last year. But i dont remember it causing much of a stir......it wasnt Ronnie Radford stuff thatll be replayed for years to come.

I think the interest is only there in the later stages, from TV and teams. And later stages usually mean big teams.

ESPN showed Wimbeldon v. Liverpool live this morning so there is hope if we progress to hit TV!

You don't have to pay it if you don't have a TV

This technically isn't true

If you own a device in your house that has access to the internet, you need a TV licence. I tried to argue with the TV license people that I didn't have an antenna at one of my houses, they told me because I have an internet connection that I have access to IPlayer, therefore I needed a TV license. If you actually read the rules, owning a smartphone with internet access means you are required to have a TV license as well.

They were lying.

You don't need to have a TV license to watch iPlayer. Only if you watch it live (and actually only that if your machine is plugged into the mains).

Strictly speaking, if you have a laptop only you do not need a TV license.

Trust me, I work for the BBC.
