davieG Posted 7 January 2015 Posted 7 January 2015 Virgil van Dijk is not the only Celtic defender to be linked with an exit this January. Reports emerged this week Leicester City and QPR are both considering a move for Nigerian international Efe Ambrose. The centre-back's agent spoke to newspaper the Nigerian Sun, admitting a switch could interest the 26-year-old. Murat Lokurlu is quoted: "For sure (Leicester City and Queens Park Rangers are interested), but there are other options. I can not comment further. It (EPL) is good for him." Ambrose has been in and out of the side this season with Manchester City loanee Jason Denayer impressing since signing. When he has played he has been inconsistent, and seen as the weak link compared to fellow defender Virgil van Dijk. If Celtic could bring in an experienced replacement then getting a decent fee for Ambrose could be a welcome development, yet this is easier said than done mid-season. With Van Dijk earning considerable interest from Premier League sides, Celtic cannot afford to allow both to leave, yet permitting one to go is likely to upset the other. If manager Ronny Deila is serious about the club winning trophies this season, they need to keep the side together during the campaign, despite Ambrose's flaws - and must ensure players are focused on the job at hand rather than furthering their careers elsewhere.
AKCJ Posted 7 January 2015 Posted 7 January 2015 Please let him go to QPR They'd have comfortably the worst set of Centre Halves the Premier League has seen.
The Railway Man Posted 7 January 2015 Posted 7 January 2015 Please god no. Celtic supporing mates say he's absolutely awful. Total donkey.
Renart Posted 7 January 2015 Posted 7 January 2015 Who cares! With our new strike force we will just score more goals than them! Defenders, who needs defenders?

Can't imagine Pearson will like this coming from his agent if he was interested - maybe the agent has a slightly odd and balloon shaped head? Reading into this, I reckon this is an agent trying to generate firm interest. Clubs look at loads of players, doesn't mean they'll actually move on each one and given how Pearson likes to do business, these comments could ensure we look elsewhere.
ronnup Posted 7 January 2015 Posted 7 January 2015 No chance. Agent being clever with teams who are known to be or have been ready to splash the cash. Horse manure
VLC86 Posted 7 January 2015 Posted 7 January 2015 Horse manure If the question was things that would solidify our defense more than Efe Ambrose this would be the answer.

Its not van dijk (dyke) we need, its bloody Mary Poppins, umbrella the ref, fly through the defence and dribblesupercalafragalistic with some expialidocious, pick up a few penguins to support the midfield, then just step in time. With a bit of luck might only cost us tuppence a bag.
