Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Hamer - 7 - Offers a much better presence than Kasper; did what he had to do relatively well. Simpson - 7.5 - Combined well with Albrighton and put in some great crosses, defensively sound bar the odd moment. Wes - 8 - Getting back to his form pre-LLLLLDLLLLL Wasyl - 8.5 - Tremendous. Konch - 7 - Would be a 6 if it wasn't for the goal, so, so wasteful in possession. I know it's often better to just clear your lines but he often does it with little or no pressure on him and it's frustrating to watch, sometimes. Great finish, though. Hammond - 7.5 - I thought Hammond was really tidy, to be honest, don't understand the flack he cops. He's never going to be pulling off audacious through balls but he tidies up and recycles the ball well. James - 7 - Daft sending off, sometimes wasteful in possession but bags of energy and bite. Albrighton - 8 - Brilliant, should have an assist to his name, top pressing and tracking back - should provide adequate enough cover whilst Riyad is away. Knockaert - 8.5 - Fantastic, caused problems and his defensive qualities really shone yesterday. Once he'd beaten someone early doors he had the wind in his sails and wanted the ball constantly, great to see. Nuge - 6 - Some decent link up play, teed up both Albrighton and Lawrence to no avail and should've had two goals himself but was always looking to make something happen. Ulloa - 5.5 - Partly down to poor service, didn't receive the ball as often as he'd have liked. Why he didn't shoot when one on one I've no idea. Vardy - 3 - Offered little when you'd have thought his pace could've unsettled Villa's defence. Lawrence - 4 - See Vardy but managed to get himself into better positions, the promise is apparent but he needs polishing up. King - 5 - Did nothing of note, did nothing wrong.
leicesterseddon Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Hamer - 6 Had very little to do, they only mustered a single shot on target. His kicking could have been better. Simpson - 7 Didn't offer much going forward but looks more solid than De Laet, particularly in the air. Morgan - 7.5 Had a good game, although there is no denying that Villa were poor. Was - 8 My MOTM. Konchesky - 7 Still giving the ball away far too much, but he gets a 7 for his good goal. Albrighton - 6.5 Had a couple of decent bursts, but I was actually mildly disappointed by his performance overall (I know others will disagree) Hammond - 6.5 He did a job. James - 7 Our best midfield player yesterday I felt, would have been a 7.5 if not for the silly challenge at the end. Knockaert - 7 Didn't give the ball away nearly as much as I thought he would, and made efforts to track back. But he didn't do too much going forward. Nugent - 5.5 Linked up well, nearly scored a screamer but his finishing is so poor. Hard to justify a place in the team for him ATM given his lack of goals. Ulloa - 5.5 No idea what was up with him yesterday. Held the ball up well but again - he needs to take his chances
kingfox Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 What made them atrocious? Bar our clear tactics to sit back when Villa were in possession and let them do their amazing trick of passing it side to side with zero penetration? First half they could hardly string two passes together, they both gave away possession far too easily at times. Hammond kept dithering on the ball, then he would only pass it backwards or sideways to James. Better teams would of broke us down yesterday, we should be thankful that Aston Villa were incredibly shit. Neither dominated the midfield, if Hammond and James dominated the midfield then our possession would of been in the 50-60 mark. As for the defensive aspect of things, Simpson, Wasilewski and Morgan did the majority of the work, Hammond and James at times were non existent.
Bamba's Babes Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Is it just me or does Ulloa remind anyone else of a tanned Ormandroyd? Racist.

Harry - LCFC Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Is it just me who thinks Wasilewski might be sneaking into contention for player of the season?
Guest Cujek Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Is it just me who thinks Wasilewski might be sneaking into contention for player of the season? I see now why the belgians love him so much, colossal.
Dickov22 Posted 12 January 2015 Posted 12 January 2015 I love ulloa. He was getting fouled non stop, should have had a pen, could have had a goal(hard header tho from nugents rebound) but the lad never hides or gives up. Real trier. No ones doubting his effort or general ability, but he had an absolute shocker on Saturday. It happens.
Raj Posted 12 January 2015 Posted 12 January 2015 No ones doubting his effort or general ability, but he had an absolute shocker on Saturday. It happens. Yeah Nugent was equally "shocking" infront of goal but gets better ratings. Look ...i love Ulloa...i cant say it often enough!!

I wasn't talking about infront of goal, I was referring to all round play. Ulloa was awful, Nugent was pretty decent. Ulloa always starts ahead of Nugent for me anyway because he scores more goals. However, Ulloa was not better than Nugent on Saturday. Yeah Nugent was equally "shocking" infront of goal but gets better ratings. Look ...i love Ulloa...i cant say it often enough!! kingcarr21 Posted 12 January 2015 Posted 12 January 2015 Was for me was MOTM. Made Benteke look very average. Special mention to Wes, Knocky and Albrighton. Equally could have got MOTM. Konch although got the winning goal was again very frustrating defensively and is clearly our weak point.

Stats are misleading, they had 60% but just passed it sideways and whenever they tried to find Benteke Hammond broke it up. To say they were awful in the first half is a ridiculous statement.

Whenever they tried to find Benteke, Wasyl and Wes did the business as they were marking him not Hammond. We weren't as good as some fans have said.
Guest MattP Posted 12 January 2015 Posted 12 January 2015 Is it just me who thinks Wasilewski might be sneaking into contention for player of the season? Just a bit, he's been absolutely brilliant. Stepped up to this level without a problem.
bovril Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Just a bit, he's been absolutely brilliant. Stepped up to this level without a problem. He actually looks better at this level, or at least he has the last five games, than in the Championship. I was quite worried about him playing in the Prem.
