Stoke pre match

The confidence is returning to the team and we could, if results go our way next weekend, get ourselves out of the relegation zone with a win. Incredible stuff really given where we were less than a month ago.

Anyway, what should our team be?

I'd go with:

Hamer

Simpson Morgan © Wasilewski Konchesky

Albrighton Drinkwater Cambiasso Knockaert

Nugent Kramaric

Subs: Schwarzer, De Laet, King, Ulloa, Moore, Vardy, Lawrence

I expect Kramaric to be on the bench. King for James.

Depends on when his work permit is sorted for me.

If it's sorted early in the week, I think he'll start. Otherwise, he'll have a sub's role.

If Kramaric is more of a coming deep, linking up and having a shot kind of player then can't see him and Nuge playing together for this, more likely to be Ulloa and Kramaric more our attacking line up.

But if deal is complete for Stoke think Kramaric will still start on the bench, NP doesn't often change a winning side or throw a new signing straight in.

I think Stoke won't be the right game for Kramaric as Stoke our known for being a physical side and I'm sure I read somewhere that Kramaric is little weak- I'm sure we will be working on his strength straight the way.

Confidence is high so every chance of getting a result, would love to see another 1-0 as think it's pretty realistic score line

I'd bring Kramaric on off the bench if he's available, Ulloa and Nugent is working fairly well as a partnership as it did at the start of the season, no need to change it quite yet.

Difference between 20th and 15th now just 3 points...win at Stoke and if other results go our way (Hull/QPR/Sunderland lose and Burnely/Palace draw) we could be at the lofty heights of 16th! Todays match was important to keep us within distance, now Stoke is important to keep momentum.

If Kramaric is fit and available would start him with and Ulloa thinking of heskey/cottee style partnership only better

We need to pick up points where we can and now (hopefully this will continue against Stoke). After this we have a tough run coming up:

Man U (A)

Palace (H)

Arsenal (A)

Everton (A)

Chelsea (H)

Man City (H)

I cannot see us winning any of those, except Palace! Our tails are up and wagging but we could find ourselves adrift once again after that run of fixtures (but this time by losing games that we are expected to lose). However, if we can stay within reach after these games (by beating Stoke and beating Palace and maybe getting a point-or-two elsewhere) then I think we have a really good chance as our run in from Hull (H) onward, is really not bad at all!

I thought Villa was our best performance since United, another clean sheet (great) another deserved win, and with Mahrez/Schlupp out, I think Albrighton really stepped up on the right and deputised well.

With Albrighton's crossing, i'd go with Kramaric starting instead of Nugent, with both Ulloa's height, and Kramaric's right place / right time, we should look comfy in attack. Nugent did well, but go with our strongest 11.

Next couple of games have the possibility to be hard. Hopefully we can still continue this good run and pick up points. Although Kramaric could be available, I think we need to introduce him into the side gently. My team line up for City - Stoke is:

Hamer

Simpson Wasyl Morgan Konchesky

Knockaert King Cambiasso (if fit) Albrighton

Nugent Ulloa

SUBS: Schwarzer, Moore, Kramaric, Drinkwater, Lawrence, Wood/Vardy, De Laet.

Play like today and three points are staying in Leicester. I'd play the same first 11 as today, just Cambiasso instead of James. Kramaric off the bench if needed.

With a Burnely/Palace draw we'd only be 17th. Only with a Palace win (unless Burnley and/or us score like crazy) would we end up in 16th. (Though some might consider a draw between them to be more preferable... imo no though, since I think Palace will stay up, so I think it is best if Palace takes all 3.) Burnley also have that cup match Wednsday, so that'll hopefully cause them some problems recovering.

Also QPR could technically draw, and we'd still be above them.

Same here. Burnley, Hull and QPR are by far the worse teams in the league. WBA could go down if they sell Berahino.

The Stoke game is a big one. Great form in the last three games must be capitalised with another win. It will show the rest that have already written LCFC off.

It won't be easy though. Never liked Stoke. A hard hitting team.

We need more pace than yesterday, particularly at home. Simpsons done nothing wrong at all but I just feel De Laets as good a defender yet offers more going forward.

Without Mahrez and Schlupp we looked slow to break yesterday despite Nugent and Vardy not being the slowest.

It's probably the only (unforced) change I'd make

Hard game this would love a repeat of result at their place. I'll say 2-1 win but really expect one all. They're decent

Agree with this. They're a good side away from home. Both us and them are better on the counter attack, so I can see it being pretty cagey.

A couple of injuries or red cards today wouldn't

go a miss

Biram Diouf at AFCON. Bojan capable of being brilliant and Crouch likes the ground! Think it'll be their set pieces which could undo us though.

This is going to be a tough one for sure.

Hamer

Simmo Wasyl Wes Konch

Drinkwater Cambiasso

Albrighton Nugent Knockert

Ulloa

Kramaric to come on for Nugent at some stage.

I'd go with this, but if Hammond is fit then him over Drinky. I think it's his type of match.
