Bobby Hundreds Posted 31 July 2015 Posted 31 July 2015 Got Thursday and Saturday tickets next week. Yerrrrrs.
Bobby Hundreds Posted 31 July 2015 Posted 31 July 2015 I do actually quite like Mitchell Johnson. Good on yer lad.
Guest MattP Posted 31 July 2015 Posted 31 July 2015 He's getting it big time today, as bad as Sydney. Edgbaston has easily overtaken Headingley as the loudest ground now.
Captain... Posted 31 July 2015 Posted 31 July 2015 I've got Sunday and Monday tickets for next week, hope it lasts longer than this test... Crowd giving Johnson some stick, that last over he looked like he was going to cry. He will either be scrambled next test or rip through us. I don't think Lyth is the right man for the job, but in the absence of anyone else I would stick with him, like we did Bell in 2005, it's the wrong time to bring in Hales as opener, maybe 5th test when we are 3-1 up, but a couple of failures for him next test and his test career could be over before it's even started. With Bell looking like he's stepped up to number 3, we desperately need a solid opening partnership, chopping and changing every series isn't going to help anyone, if Lyth is the man then he needs time.
purpleronnie Posted 31 July 2015 Posted 31 July 2015 The crowds fantastic, as much as I like the tradition of Lords, it's becoming my least favourite venue.
Guest MattP Posted 31 July 2015 Posted 31 July 2015 I've got Sunday and Monday tickets for next week, hope it lasts longer than this test... I'm there both those days so give me a wave if you see me. Big decision on the pitch now, do we want grass with no Amderson and a 2-1 lead?
Bobby Hundreds Posted 31 July 2015 Posted 31 July 2015 I'm there both those days so give me a wave if you see me. Big decision on the pitch now, do we want grass with no Amderson and a 2-1 lead? Yes, they can't bat for shit.
Matt Posted 31 July 2015 Posted 31 July 2015 Woohoo! 3 tests, One of us has been outclassed in all 3 are we going to get an even match where either side gets tested equally?! Don't get me wrong I like it being 'easy' and outclassing them but wouldn't mind seeing an evenly fought game during the 5 tests. I hardly had time to watch any of this test it's been over so quickly!
martyn Posted 31 July 2015 Posted 31 July 2015 Watson in for Voges for the next test? They'd probably bring Shaun Marsh in instead, and be stronger for it.
marko Posted 31 July 2015 Posted 31 July 2015 I'm there both those days so give me a wave if you see me. Big decision on the pitch now, do we want grass with no Amderson and a 2-1 lead? Think we'd be mad to go with a slow, flat pitch after Lords. Their middle order looks short of form, confidence, patience and ideas on a pitch with some sideways movement. I think it'd also be good to have a bit in the pitch if we're bringing in a new face like Rushworth who is used to bowling on a track with some movement.
Captain... Posted 1 August 2015 Posted 1 August 2015 Woohoo! Hopefully the next one will be a 5 day classic with England winning the ashes on day 5.
Matt Posted 1 August 2015 Posted 1 August 2015 Hopefully the next one will be a 5 day classic with England winning the ashes on day 5. That's what we want! Well we want an England win, whatever way, easy or hard, but that's what i'm talking about, instead of one of the two teams being outclassed like the series has been so far. But hey, it's great to be in this position and be talking like this as I thought Australia would outclass us in every test, I didn't think they'd win 5-0, I thought we'd win atleast 1 test but I certainly thought they be in command after 3 tests put it that way.
Grandad. Posted 3 August 2015 Posted 3 August 2015 I'm hoping for an England result on the Sunday, day I go and a nightout in Bridgeford after. Back to the business though, the players chose to have a training day instead of taking their planned rest day, good to see. Really think Lyth has been spared because of the result, if we had lost or drew at Edgebaston then I really think he would of gone. Bayliss has said throughout his short appointment that he would like to play Rasheed at some point so bringing him in and moving Moeen to the top of the order would of worked for me. Wood all day long for me as well as Jimmy's replacement, just praying Anderson can be fit for the Oval.
Bobby Hundreds Posted 3 August 2015 Posted 3 August 2015 Got to be Mark Wood if he's fit, his County average is 13 @ 22.53 in 3 matches at Trent Bridge.
Voll Blau Posted 3 August 2015 Posted 3 August 2015 http://www.espncricinfo.com/county-cricket-2015/content/story/905971.html Northants could become the first first class county to dissolve. Hope it doesn't happen.
TheSomersetFox Posted 6 August 2015 Posted 6 August 2015 Marsh for Marsh is odd, thought it'd be Voges to go. must be because Voges knows Trent Bridge
TheSomersetFox Posted 6 August 2015 Posted 6 August 2015 Binning my Monday tickets, hugely mixed emotions here
Swarles Barkley Posted 6 August 2015 Posted 6 August 2015 Going at 6 an over here. Very poor bowling from both openers
