Monsell1976 Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Embarrassing that a premier keeper cannot kick a ball, seems to find touch or oppositions players. Shame really the rest of his game is better than schmeichel.
Bamba's Babes Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Was his kicking the reason we lost today? No, but it was bleeding awful. Everytime he cocks up a simple kick he stops us from creating opportunities and puts us back under pressure. Time for a change.
sdb Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Very poor but so was the fans' reaction. Fair to say he wasn't happy and his confidence will have taken a beating today. His reaction to the kop was one of those horrible moments. I didn't know who'd let themselves down more. The clowns in the stand or Hamer for reacting.
cityfanlee23 Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 I'm guessing blue is a succesfull pass, red unsuccessful? 12 passes out of 27 on target, 12 blue lines... I'd say so mate P.s The red line at the bottom of the 18 yard box
StanSP Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Makes us so wasteful when he kicks it straight out and doesn't even give our players a chance to win the ball. Extremely disappointing in this regard.

What were the fans doing and what was his reaction?
sdb Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 What were the fans doing and what was his reaction? The standard groans and moans when he put the ball out of play or along the ground, but when he finally kicked a ball cleanly there were a lot of loud, ironic cheers, to which Hamer turned around and opened his arms out, mouthing something along the lines of 'why would you be a bunch of dicks to your own player?' - which I can kinda empathise with. Then the fans got a bit mardy about that. Great moment for all involved...

Bayfox Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 hamers kicking = kasper catching a cold sorry cross. know which I'll live with.
Bugg Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 His kicking was diabolical today but the ironic cheers were very cuntish.
Lcfc_1995 Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 As bad as his kicking is, I think it's pathetic that our fans reacted in that way of ironic cheers when he actually did a good pass, now isn't the time to get on a players back.
Robin JD Popley Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 My view on Ben Hamer's kicking? My view on his second half save?
funkyrobot Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 He should take an ironic cheer on the chin. He's a good keeper who just needs to work on his kicks but getting an ironic cheer from some behind the goal is not worth reacting to when you're a pro.
StanSP Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 So he got a bit pissy when fans ironically cheer him for a successful kick. What about his reaction when he got a bit of a standing ovation after the save from Nzonzi?
Katy Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 His kicking was a bit shit today but still prefer him in goal.

Stay at home.... Oh that's right, you do
funkyrobot Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Exactly the sort of fan we don't need. Stay at home.... Oh that's right, you doTwo things. 1. I didn't ironically cheer hamer, just think he needs to handle it as a professional footballer. 2. I'm a season ticket holder and have been for years.

Great moment for all involved... such a shame, it was only the other day i was talking about how i can't really remember a single moment this year (bar the **** off and die) that fans have properly got on a player's or the team's collective backs. sure a lot get stick on here and probably on twitter but we've been as positive as you can whilst rooted to the foot of the league for most the season down at the ground. the last thing we need is players thinking even we think they're shit.
Harry - LCFC Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 It's probably not that important to our chances of success. The reason it's frustrating is because it's such a basic skill, that should be such an easy box to tick on the "getting things right" list and yet it isn't atm.

Konchesky vs Spurs ironic cheers when he made a clearance
ScouseFox Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 Konchesky vs Spurs ironic cheers when he made a clearance oh, i wasn't at spurs. that's a shame too then. i was just thinking of things like vardy, schlupp (until he got good a few weeks ago), even nugent. all been capable of throwing in shockers this season yet i can't really remember many groans or boos etc. jamie vardy's having a party, the preston david nuge song both get airings instead of "**** off you ****" when people like beckford, gallagher and the rest put in mediocre performances over the last 5 years. and most of all support for the manager. nice to see.

Guest MarshallForEngland Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 another thread for inexplicable pro-Hamer sentiment. The same people who were picking apart every minute of Kasper's performances are now either making excuses for Hamer or calling for people to stop being unfairly critical of players altogether, even though the anti-Kasper brigade were relentless in slating him and demanding he be replaced. Hamer's kicking has been awful since he got in and today was no different; he has almost put us in trouble in virtually every game he has played. Sometimes he doesn't even make the halfway line and today he had one that only just made it outside the box. Fortunately it eventually dropped I think to Schlupp but it's only a matter of time before he lands us right in it. Clutching at straws concentrating on that one second half save; it is one you'd expect every goalkeeper in the league to make as it was straight at him. Strong hand but let's not make it out to be something it wasn't. For the record, I agree that Hamer was not the reason we lost today. But once again I can't help notice the double standards here on criticism of Hamer. Some of you were like vultures after every one of Kasper's performances and, now that Hamer isn't really doing what you insisted he would do, you're having to do some pretty nifty mental and verbal gymnastics to avoid conceding that he is worse in many areas than Kasper and that nothing has materially changed for the better since he was brought into the starting eleven.

Watch out with sensible posts like that, the "he gets paid a s#it load" and "I pay my money blah blah" brigade will be out in force.
