WiFoxes Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 Yes, we have a rough stretch coming up. But I looked at the fixtures of the teams around us and think there may be a little glimmer of hope still left. I examined the bottom 7 teams because although Everton is not ahead by much in points, I just feel they will not be relegated. Hull looked shite today and have for a while. QPR, Burnley, and Villa all are also not in good form for quite some time. So starting 7th bottom: Aston Villa 5-7-10, 22 points Remaining fixtures vs bottom 7 teams: 5 (3 at home) 6th bottom: West Brom 5-6-10, 21 points (note: play tomorrow) Remaining fixtures vs bottom 7 teams: 5 (2 at home) 5th bottom: Sunderlund 3-11-8, 20 points Remaining fixtures vs bottom 7 teams: 6 (5 at home) 4th bottom: Burnley 4-8-10, 20 points Remaining fixtures vs bottom 7 teams: 5 (2 at home) 3rd bottom: Hull City 4-7-11, 19 points Remaining fixtures vs bottom 7 teams: 5 (4 at home) 2nd bottom: QPR 5-4-13, 19 points Remaining fixtures vs bottom 7 teams: 5 (0 at home) Bottom: Leicester City 4-5-13, 17 points Remaining fixtures vs bottom 7 teams: 5 (2 at home) Now I am not saying that it's a given we'll stay up. Far from it. But there is a chance. For as much as people are bemoaning our upcoming schedule, we still get to face just as many shit sides as everyone else. Just thought it would be an interesting study to break down the remaining fixtures for us and those around us and really, if we play up to our ability, finishing out of the relegation zone is definitely possible. We just need to be in better form.
Sunbury Fox Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 Surely Palace are also in the mix. If (and after yesterday I know it's a big if) we beat them on 7 Feb we could be 3 points behind them. They also have to play Chelsea (a), Man U (h) and Liverpool (a) in their last 4 games.

WiFoxes Posted 18 January 2015 Author Posted 18 January 2015 I think Crystal Palace will finish top 10, they are a new team. I agree and that's why I did not include them. However, many teams have been very streaky this year and their current form could maybe just be a Pardew bump.
lee7 Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 I can't see us getting anything from the next 5 considering four of those games are against united, Chelsea, everton and arsenal. I'm really struggling to see where we will pick a win up from!

Wish we'd have signed Gayle!

Stan Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 I really think it's premature to not include Palace in the relegation mix.
stillwater Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 Utd - 0 points Chelsea - 1 point Everton - 3 points Arsenal - 0 points Here's hoping
Benguin Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 Utd - 0 points Chelsea - 1 point Everton - 3 points Arsenal - 0 points Here's hoping Spurs - qualify Man U - 3points Palace - 3 points Chelsea - 3 points Everton - 3 points Man city - 3 points
ousefox Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 Yeah i would definitely include Palace in those stats. New manager influence won't last forever
gotwood Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 I used this site. was realistic with results and had us finishing 16th... Hope like hell Im right http://match-predictor.com/
Aus Fox Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 The Everton game, they play away in Europe the Thursday before, they are usually poor the game after a European break, this is a chance for us I think.
Ali Campbell Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 Palace are deffo in the mix. They can easily go through a run like us and like previously posted, if Leicester beat them there will be a 3 point gap. Gayle and punch are no Kram and Ulloa.
Dan Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 How on earth can anyone not include Palace? They'll be back down there when their honeymoon period is over. I just hope we're the ones who end it.
Harry - LCFC Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 Can't be writing off fixtures. We go in to all of the next six believing we can get something, because we can.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 If Everton lose tomorrow, surely they're in the mix too? Having a terrible season by their standards and only on 22 points same as Villa. Wouldn't be surprised if they dropped Martinez before the end of the season
Guest LCFC_World Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 Wow this is gonna be close, here is my prediction , i did every fixture realistically, according to my predictions if we win on the final day we finsih 14th, if we lose we finish bottom... wow
Dan Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 You can't 100% write them off but I will be absolutely stunned if Everton are relegated.
chapero82 Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 I can't see us pulling it back now unless we get the midfield sorted out so our strikers get service to there feet and stop with the long balls
WiFoxes Posted 19 January 2015 Author Posted 19 January 2015 Just because everyone wanted them included: Crystal Palace have 5 left against the bottom 7 (3 at home) Everton have 6 left against the bottom 7 (4 at home)
