Sir Fynwy Posted 29 January 2015 Posted 29 January 2015 If you are having sex with women you think might falsely accuse you of rape I'd suggest you need to take a bit of a look at your lifestyle.
indierich06 Posted 29 January 2015 Posted 29 January 2015 If you go out on the weekend and try to drag home some bird who's so drunk she can barely speak or stand up, then whether it's rape or not, you're a slimy, horrible ****. Simple as. I'm embarrassed and disgusted that we live in a society where amendments to laws like this are even necessary. It's the ****ing Geordie Shore Generation. What a time to be alive.

MooseBreath Posted 29 January 2015 Posted 29 January 2015 If you are having sex with women you think might falsely accuse you of rape I'd suggest you need to take a bit of a look at your lifestyle. Is there a fool proof way of knowing whether or not a woman might make such a claim?
Sir Fynwy Posted 29 January 2015 Posted 29 January 2015 Is there a fool proof way of knowing whether or not a woman might make such a claim? It's impossible to guarantee anything in a relationship but it's pretty easy to make choices that reduce the likelihood of problems.
Guest MattP Posted 29 January 2015 Posted 29 January 2015 It's impossible to guarantee anything in a relationship but it's pretty easy to make choices that reduce the likelihood of problems. That goes for both sexes as well but you get slaughtered if you suggest a woman should take more responsibility for their actions with regards to drunken sex. Either way it still isn't a reason as to putting the burden of proof on the defence.
ADK Posted 29 January 2015 Author Posted 29 January 2015 It's the old "if you've got nothing to hide you've got nothing to fear" argument.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 29 January 2015 Posted 29 January 2015 What? I thought it was going to go the other way so that they had to prove a woman was completely paralytic. Is everyone going to have to video tape a woman with her hand on the bible saying she wants to have sex with someone? I'd imagine a whatsapp voice recording would do the trick
Captain... Posted 29 January 2015 Posted 29 January 2015 Can't really tell from the article as it's not particularly clear but it seems to me to be guidance to the police/prosecutors in assessing whether to charge/prosecute someone rather than causing a change in the law. Doesn't seem to be changing any burden of proof in the actual case itself, although there is reference to the jury which blurs things a little. The cynical side of me always wonders about this kind of thing anyway as I'm sure a lot of jurors just think guilty or not guilty without worrying about burdens of proof etc. I read it the same way, which if so then I don't see a problem with this, but it is a step down a worrying road. If a woman goes to the police and says she's been raped, and the man she accuses says it was consensual they have to investigate unless he can prove she consented. When it comes to court the prosecution has to prove she didn't. Hopefully it will make young lads a lot more careful about where they hide their sausage.
AoWW Posted 29 January 2015 Posted 29 January 2015 Utterly ridiculous. How the hell is a man supposed to prove a woman said 'yes'? Having said that, I do agree with Sir Fynwy's comment too - there's a large percentage of the population who really should be more careful about who they choose to sleep with and under what circumstances.
Rincewind Posted 29 January 2015 Posted 29 January 2015 The trick is make her scream with joy during sex. If you make a hash of it she'll be disappointed with the result.

Bellend Sebastian Posted 29 January 2015 Posted 29 January 2015 I'll tell you what really bothers me about this. All the rapes
