eunmac Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 I haven't given up hope, but let's face it... there will be casualties if we go down. Most likely gone: Mahrez - Biggest loss, but someone will come in for him. He's too good now and easily Prem quality. Kramaric - seems a foregone conclusion even though he's yet to shine. Cambiasso - Think he will retire and look for management opportunity elsewhere. Maybe's:Kasper. Yes new contract, but will he want to play championship? Matty James - If I were someone like Derby I'd be chomping at the bit to get him. Others ?
Mark_w Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 I imagine it'd be difficult to keep Ulloa, Cambiasso would probably leave with his contract up, Mahrez and Schlupp might be tough to keep hold of. Can't see Premier League teams wanting anyone else unless Kramaric picks up.
lgfualol Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 I reckon Schlupp will stay with us. Mahrez will go to Italy or Spain.
theessexfox Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 How much longer have Wasilewski and Konchesky got? Genuine question, they both played well today.
One Legged Beaver Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Can't think many of our players will be that sought after, besides the ones mentioned in the OP to be honest.
benpicko Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Think we'd still be able to play with something like this if we were to go down: Hamer De Laet - Was - Morgan - (new LB) Albrighton - Drinkwater - James - Schlupp Nugent - Vardy And hope Vardy's not had his confidence shot so much that he can't play as he did last year in the Championship, if not we'd have to get somebody who plays like him. Don't think we'd miss Ulloa at all if we went down considering the style of play that suits him isn't what got us up
MooseBreath Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 I suppose one of the advantages of being so crap this season is that not many of our players will be premier league targets. But Mahrez, Kramaric and Cambiasso will be gone. Any premier league bids for the likes of Schlupp, Moore, James, Drinkwater, Kasper etc and they'll be gone. Morgan, Was and Konch all unlikely to be as effective as they were last season. Upson remains unknown. Nugent may be past his best as might Vardy. Knockaert might be useful but may also want to leave having been frozen out this season, ditto Albrighton, Wood, Hamer, Lawrence and de Laet. Will be interesting. Might keep the squad together, might need a major overhaul.

ADK Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 I'd be shocked if Cambiasso and Mahrez play Championship football. I reckon a few others will leave too.
Donut Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 We will lose Mahrez, Kramaric for certain, they have big futures and can play at a higher level than the championship. Schmeichel probably to go, if a bid comes in from a bigger club. Moore was sniffed around previously, so if someone makes a bid, likely he would be off. We will lose Cambiasso because realistically, hes not going to hang around at his age in the championship i wouldnt have thought. A coaching role somewhere, or maybe a return home to Argentina on the cards? Then youre left with Upson, Konchesky, Wasilewski who should all be peripheral figures at the club anyway, but will have to be dealt with somehow.
GingerrrFox Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 James Schlupp Mahrez Albrighton Kramaric Ulloa Would all definitely have teams interested in them. Cambiasso would likely leave/retire and move over to coaching.
lcfcsnow Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Ulloa Would all definitely have teams interested in them. Who? We were the only team stupid enough to pay 8 million for him. Our only hope would be a newly promoted team but we wouldn't get half of that fee back now.
Benguin Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 James Schlupp Mahrez Albrighton Kramaric Ulloa Would all definitely have teams interested in them. Cambiasso would likely leave/retire and move over to coaching. This plus Schwarzer, retirement I'd guess.
ousefox Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Mahrez should definitely go if we go down. Deserves to stay in this league. Kramaric and Cambiasso will be gone. Hoping people haven't really noticed James as much as they should. Knockaert out of contract I think so will probably go back to France Wouldn't be arsed if Kasper left. Konchesky will probably be offered a new deal and hopefully Wasyl. I think Schlupp will stay too.
Bettsj2 Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Schwarzer Kasper Simpson Wasilewski Konchesky Schlupp James Cambiasso Mahrez Knockeart Albrighton Kramaric Ulloa All for contract or sellable reasons these players I believe wont be here following relegation. The argument that a new manager will have to do a rebuilding job will I believe, apply to Pearson too. If he's still here that is.
lgfualol Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 I can't help but think Wasyl will be looking at an Anderlecht return, if they want him back, which I'm sure they probably do.
Manwell Pablo Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Mahrez is the only one who will definitely go for money. Cambiasso's is only on a years deal I think so no way he'll stick about. If we lose Ulloa, we'll be selling him for what he's worth as opposed to what we paid for him unless he hits another purple patch, and I can't see us willingly taken a big loss on someone who in theory should be capable of a lot of a second tier goals. We've got Kramaric tied down to deal and he must of been aware that he could face a year in the second tier given we were in a woeful position we he agreed a deal, he might stay for a year and will leave if we don't go up if he performs. Depends how he performs between now and the end of the season. Aside from that, possibly James, struggle to see why anyone would want them to be totally honest. EDIT: Cambiasso aside I don't know who's out of contract, needless to say anyone who is could well be gone.
Stadt Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 We aren't going to sell Kramaric for any less than the £8 million we played for him, if he only scores 3 or 4 goals who will pay that for him?
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 just hope James stays really. Could be our heartbeat for years to come
GingerrrFox Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Who? We were the only team stupid enough to pay 8 million for him. Our only hope would be a newly promoted team but we wouldn't get half of that fee back now. He's scored 9 goals in 22 games for a team that are bottom of the league. That's not anything to be sniffed at, he's proved he can score goals in the Premier League so could bag even more goals for a team like Newcastle or Swansea or even a team that get promoted like Bournemouth. He's a big upgrade on someone like Yann Kermogant.
RedSoxUK Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 I think Cambiaso is a definite departure. Schmeichel will get a few bids in for him, and to be honest we won't need him in the Champ with Hamer. Mahrez is far too good, I hope we can keep him an offer him a much improved contract, otherwise any reasonable bid from top 12 Prem and euro teams and he's off. Kramaric - if there's a clause, or a matched bid. Though I would like to see him in the Championship where we'll probably have lots of possession and chances for the lad, could be his much needed English football experience for when we take on the Prem the following year if he's still here and .. ofc.. we actually go down this season. I do believe Schlupp, James, Drinkwater, Hammond, King, Ulloa, and Moore stay, some because nobody's interested, most because of their commitment to Pearson - if he's still in charge. We 100% need to keep hold of Matty James.

If you think anyone is coming in over 8 million pounds you will be very disappointed.
Guest Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 just hope James stays really. Could be our heartbeat for years to come Totally agree. First name on my imaginary team sheet.

If you think anyone is coming in over 8 million pounds you will be very disappointed. When did I mention a fee of £8 million? The question was who is likely to leave at the end of the season and Ulloa is most likely one of them. He's proved he can score goals in this league and players that do that usually stick around. As for statistics and getting them right, I picked them up off a website at 1am, that didn't factor in substitute appearances, apologies. However the fact still remains he's scored 9 and is more than likely to hit double figures by the end of the season. I think you will be the one surprised when clubs are interested in the summer.
