What would you do if you were the manager?

I think the fact that people genuinely think these managers would genuinely improve us is more depressing than our form.

Still yet to see anybody suggest someone who would improve us, only Laudrup is a 'maybe'.

So do you think that getting 9 points from the last 60, and going out of the cup without a whimper is impressive, or acceptable?

My god, it would be pretty hard for anyone not to be able to improve on that record!

I'd rest Morgan, put Hamer back in goals, start playing Albrighton and Lawrence (great believer in youth). Also like to see more of Moore.

start albrighton and lawrence instead of...?

Got to be worth trying to fit Hammond into the team. Not sure if it's just a coincidence but he's been involved with most of our wins and best performances this season

wasn't a joke...

nah for real tho if i was a new manager coming in i would slowly dismantle the whole squad, taking us down in the process, start from scratch in june in the championship and probably do quite badly in the transfer market signing run of the mill championship players and premier league rejects and hope somehow they'll all click and take us flying back up.

kinda why i'd like us to just let nige get on with it.

You and AKCJ seem to think you are prophets of some kind. You seem to know the outcome of every possible scenario that doesn't involve Nigel.

Closed minds don't make the most brilliant.

You keep telling people they are talking sh*t and that they don't know better than Nige yet you appear to rubbish every suggestion like YOU know how the team should be played and what tactics should be employed because you are unwilling to open your eyes to anything other than Nige.

It's pretty dull, pretty sad and pretty limited. You two are prime examples of those choosing blind faith in an individual over the love and support of a team. Statements like 'it's not like Villa walked all over us etc' show your complete lack of ambition and reasonable expectation. If you are happy with that, and those lowly expectations, fine, but don't talk down and patronise those with more reasonable expectations of the club and more open mindedness to debate and a host of alternatives to Nige, his inept tactics, his 9 points from the last 60 and his anchorage of the team at the foot of the table. This man you have put on a pedastal has, in reality, an absolutely APPALLING record in the premiership ad you appear to just not only accept it, but thrive on it and have even assumed the same cocky arrogant persona of Sir Nigel.

i've never told anyone they were talking shit unless they were talking shit. i also don't think i've ever patronised any reasonable posters or posts (like yours here), merely the genuine retards who appear once we look like we might sack a manager.

i'm not happy with the team at the moment, nor am i happy with the manager. but i am looking at the bigger picture. we've failed this season (barring a miracle). it's probably over. pearson and his squad have a lot better chance of being a success next year than appointing some guff like neil lennon just because he was a good player for us nearly 20 years ago. that's my opinion. if other people have a different opinion and think someone like him, or any of the other dodgy looking candidates could do better next season (or this season) that's fine, but we should all support the team for 90 minutes 13 more times this season and leave the negatives for here or the pub. not helpful.

I can agree with that. But calling at Pearson isn't a negative, in most instances it's because people are trying to find a new positive. Pearson might be decent next year in the championship - then again he might not, once certain players leave and others are left demoralised by relegation, then theres the pressure of being expected to bounce straight back etc. Next season is an unknown entity, guaranteed success certainly is not. And besides, there is still time to stay up, possibly with or without Pearson so the debate needs having, especially as Pearson hasn't really done anything progressive or built a decent run all season. Somebody with fresh ideas in the final third of the season might just do that.

You'd seriously take Lambert?

Villa play some of the worst football the Premier League has ever seen and are in the relegation places and you'd take him?

Sorry, but you're completely mental.

Like I said he has achieved in 2 years what Pearson has in 5 whether you like it or not. We are going down and if Pearson lasts until the end of the season he will most certainly not be in charge next season anyway. Lambert would be one of the best candidates to replace him, I can't think of anyone better suited to the job.

I'm almost beyond caring, but unless he wisens up and plays a CM as a CDM and gets that goal-a-game clown out of goal, we're ****ed whether it's 541, 352, 442 or 10-10-****ing-10

I'd go out with a bang - recall Conrad for a Premiership start, central defensive partnership of J Pearson and N Pearson, Bakayogo in at left back, let Top the monk play alongside Cambiasso for the smoothest midfield pairing in history alongside that young lad with the afro that Barcelona were after or something, GTF and Super Kevin up front. Results couldn't be much worse, so why not have some fun?

Panic when it turns out that all the things I'd convinced myself would definitely make things better actually make no difference whatsoever, then hide in a cupboard with as many Tunnocks Teacakes as I could fit in there

There goes Jack again spouting shilo for his love child the wonderful Nigel Pearson. You are such a hypocrite it's unreal. You admit Villa are shilo and play awful footie (they have beaten us twice this season scoring four goals in their grand total of 12) yet you criticise anyone who has a go at any level against your god Pearson.

Anyone at the moment would have set us up better than tactical Nige yesterday. Here is some names for you, Lennon, Howe,

Mclaren, Krancar, Monk, Curbishley, all could do a better job than your god at least none of them would have set up with five at the back and playing your lone striker who was so far deep at times he was picking the ball up outside his own penalty area. Pearson is a clown and for the good of my club he has to go.

Play 3-5-2

Hamer

Was. Huth. Upson

De Laet. Schlupp

Cambiasso© James

Mahrez

Ulloa. Kramaric

Spot on. Crucial selections are Mahrez and Cambiasso to feed Kramaric, as I suspect these 3 to be on the same wavelength (and ahead of the rest). The rest then pick themselves - Hamer obviously, attacking wing backs, the 3 strongest CBs,James to put in the running to compensate for Camby, Ulloah to complement Kram. Only alternative would be using just 2 CBs to accommodate Albrighton for extra width and crosses.
