lcfcliam Posted 12 March 2015 Posted 12 March 2015 Calling all fellow foxes I was wondering if any of you could spare just two minutes of your time to help fill in my survey for my uni dissertation please! It is about nervous flyers! https://demo-account.onlinesurveys.ac.uk/how-safe-do-people-really-feel-flying
DennisNedry Posted 12 March 2015 Posted 12 March 2015 Should you only take the survey if you are a nervous flyer?
lcfcliam Posted 12 March 2015 Author Posted 12 March 2015 Should you only take the survey if you are a nervous flyer? You can even if you aren't because I am also looking for peoples opinions on nervous flyers
Turtles Head Posted 13 March 2015 Posted 13 March 2015 Nervous flyers are cùnts. Wow. Filled in for my Mrs. A ridiculous 2 hour flight during a storm changed her completely. She helped me through my first ever flight, now 30 odd flights later, roles have completely reversed.
Jaspa Posted 13 March 2015 Posted 13 March 2015 They'are Interesting subject I spose. Never got any jitters with flying until one time the airline I was jetting with delayed the flight and I had to stay in the terminal for 16hours before getting on a replacement plane cause the original one was 'broken'. It didnt exactly shake me but foreboding danger and making peace with mystical skygods were going through my brain inflight.
Crinklyfox Posted 13 March 2015 Posted 13 March 2015 Done. Good luck with the dissertation. It's quite normal to be under confident about something you haven't done before, I've seen a few examples of first-time nervous flyers. I've also known some flyers who can't get it out of their head that there's just a few inches of metal between them and a 30,000 feet drop which stops them relaxing. The same people strangely have no nerves at all when on the 20th floor of a skyscraper, it's all in the mind....
DB11 Posted 13 March 2015 Posted 13 March 2015 Completed. I quite liked that survey, short but to the point It would have been nice to have given a response as to why I think I'm not a nervous flyer, which would have been that I've been on planes ever since I was a baby and I used to go on long haul flights every year when I was growing up.

Appreciate the answers, I can use these as part of my analysis section! it seems to be more a psychological problem! Completed. Thanks for the comments, I can use your comments on here as to why you aren't a nervous flyer!
DB11 Posted 13 March 2015 Posted 13 March 2015 Thanks for the comments, I can use your comments on here as to why you aren't a nervous flyer! You're welcome. Boats on the other hand... can't stand them!! If I'm inside like on a ferry then it's ok but I do not like being on the deck and looking over the railings. I went on a cruise once but it was more akin to a reality TV show where you face your fears and just want the week to be over
DennisNedry Posted 13 March 2015 Posted 13 March 2015 I think flying from a young age will help you to not develop a fear of flying but it certainly isn't the only factor. My grandmother for example didn't have the money to go abroad until she was in her 50s and she was absolutely fine. There must be a genetic pre-disposition towards certain phobias (such as flying).
Drew_The_Fox Posted 13 March 2015 Posted 13 March 2015 Done, I'm not a nervous flyer either, I also did lots of air travelling whilst I was growing up I guess getting used to flying early helps to overcome any sort of fears?
Steven Posted 13 March 2015 Posted 13 March 2015 Short haul flights are now like travelling on a bus.
Nalis Posted 13 March 2015 Posted 13 March 2015 The woman is terrified of flying. I'm not cos I'm not a fvckin pussy.
Stadt Posted 13 March 2015 Posted 13 March 2015 Short haul flights are now like travelling on a bus. Full of 11 year olds and smelly old people?
lcfcliam Posted 14 March 2015 Author Posted 14 March 2015 Thanks everybody who has done it so far really appreciate your answers but you don't half get some idiots on this planet! Not saying it was anyone on here but a bit childish aha!
Deane Posted 8 March 2016 Posted 8 March 2016 Hey, for my dissertation I am conducting a survey on BPL football fans and their opinions on their teams use of social media. This is to examine how important social media has become as a promotional tool for BPL teams. Sorry if this is against the rules but I am trying to get as many people as possible and as you can imagine it isn't easy. Only takes 3-5 minutes and would be much appreciated as it would help me out a lot. Thanks! https://ulstersocialsciences.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_23oWBupQzXNW07j
