England Squad vs Lithuania (27th March) & Italy (31st March)

henderson/carrick/delph has to be one of the worst england midfield threes for what, decades? ever? in a competitive game at least.

and that's coming from someone who is a big fan of hendo.

Carrick is alright, its just Delph, people moan about players from small clubs not getting picked but picking them for the sake of it is wrong.

I'd rather have ward-prowse in

When is jay rodriguez back?

Can't believe he's not starting! Manager must be mad, Stankevicius was surely nailed on start!

Insane that we're not starting the one player on fire at the moment.

Agree, but not surprised, it would have been way too adventurous for Hodgson, and we all know goals scored for clubs outside the top four don't really count.

What a sorry unmotivated looking bunch of players we've  got.

Jesus, these are absolute shite. The top teams and England really shouldn't get 3 points from these games unless you score 3 or more and keep a clean sheet.

Just a thought on all the people moaning that Kane hasn't started. Where was he going to start? We're playing a 433, and Rooney will never be dropped from the Central striker role, so are people really wanting him as a wide striker? Clearly Sterling, Welbeck or even Townsend are more suited to that. He's competing for one spot in the team and it's currently filled by an undroppable captain.

come on we're playin lithuania at home i'd have just started 4 strikers 4 left backs henderson and someone else and we'd have won about 16-2 or something. kane would've scored 8.

i get that he might not fit this system atm but just change the system for him and keep the people happy. we've already won this group, we could play the under 19s and probably still win this game, things like not picking kane just make it even easier for the whole nation to call roy an idiot, a defensive, boring manager etc. just doesn't help himself. even if we win 5-0 tonight (which we probably will) none of the talk will be of the win, the media will focus all it's attention on the disgrace that is roy not picking kane.

just doesn't seem a very bright move, to me.

No reason we have to play this system, and we shouldn't be playing it if it means not playing our most on form players.

We've just struggled to contain them for the last 5 minutes so I'm wouldn't be so sure. Woy is just trying to do a professional job, and go out and win an important qualifier. He's right not to start an unproven player who might end up like a rabbit in head lights the moment he enters the field. Some players are great at club level but fall to pieces for their country, Ben Foster being a good exampke.

Ben Foster has been falling to pieces in club football as well recently, total horror show when he played against Villa.
