5waller5 Posted 23 March 2015 Posted 23 March 2015 We lose every week anyway. I can see the logic of wanting one of those losses to be bad enough to finally swing the axe.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 23 March 2015 Posted 23 March 2015 Never understood the desire to want to lose a game to change manager. What if the next manager loses his first three games? We've just lost four in a row and no progress has been made. Having sat through so few victories I'd like to go home pleased with a win and hopefully a much better performance. What happens after that, happens. The manager could still go the week after. But wanting to lose a match? Never. I'm with you on this one, Corky.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 23 March 2015 Posted 23 March 2015 I went regularly 15 years ago. I do see why that makes my opinion more valid than someone who has been only watching since League 1. I'll go along with that; 55 years worth. Hand me my gold watch!
Webbo Posted 23 March 2015 Posted 23 March 2015 I'll go along with that; 55 years worth. Hand me my gold watch! You must've been a babe in arms.
Corky Posted 23 March 2015 Posted 23 March 2015 We lose every week anyway. I can see the logic of wanting one of those losses to be bad enough to finally swing the axe. Why does a 4-0 defeat make so much difference right now? The owners, or the people making the decisions, have enough ammunition whether you agree or not to make a change of manager. They have Pearson's dealings with the press, the fan and the player if they feel it's affecting PR. The results have been consistently poor despite the relatively decent displays in away matches. They have the table in its current state, the fact they've given a decent amount of money to spend on players. Presently, a loss makes no difference if it is 1-0 or 5-0, we are cut adrift. If the owners feel a change gives us a better chance they should make a move, not wait until a heavy defeat comes along because it might not happen.
Dan Posted 23 March 2015 Posted 23 March 2015 Bentleys is as extreme in it's "Pearson out" stance as this one is in it's "Pearson in". As many have stated, football is about opinions, and sites like this an Bentleys give you an insight into why people might have a differing one from yours which for me is what makes them interesting. To state that someone is not a fan because their view differs from yours strikes me as a tad arrogant. Not very then? This "Coco the clown" insult that's caught on is probably the most embarrassing thing in the history of Leicester City. Shout. Makes the appalling disney tune we come out to in the second half seem slightly less deplorable.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 23 March 2015 Posted 23 March 2015 Everyone just seems to forget there is a vast silent majority who don't bother getting caught up in the slating, points scoring and abusing fellow posters over the manager.
Monsell1976 Posted 23 March 2015 Posted 23 March 2015 Everyone just seems to forget there is a vast silent majority who don't bother getting caught up in the slating, points scoring and abusing fellow posters over the manager.I'm not silent but you never see me being abusive, or point scoring, and I don't slate people's opinions.I like a good debate, but once a person becomes abusive, they have lost the argument, if they have resort to personal insults.
Monsell1976 Posted 23 March 2015 Posted 23 March 2015 But some of the "in" are pretty extreme about it.Very, to the point of they take it personally, it's all just opinions
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 23 March 2015 Posted 23 March 2015 As for Bentley's Roof, I went there about 3 years ago and couldn't hear myself think with the sound of knuckles dragging on the floor. They have everything from oddballs to manic depressives and barely a shred of optimism in the place. I've never looked at bentley's but I'd imagine it'd be full of the semi-literate knuckle draggers that just get angry about everything. a bloke called bnet cracks me up he never says anything postive im sure he is really a forest fan He was on here originally, made himself alot of enemies very quickly EDIT - The majority of his debates ended up with personal abuse...
theessexfox Posted 24 March 2015 Posted 24 March 2015 I've only been following City for about a decade but I'd still say my opinion is as valid (probably loads more) than people who have been going longer.
phg Posted 24 March 2015 Posted 24 March 2015 Some top blokes on there who have supported Leicester for many years (before most on here were born let's face it) and they have just as much right to an opinion as anyone on here. Not everyone subscribes to a brand of happy clap of modern football supporting where you aren't allowed to utter a negative word because all you have been fed is shite post 2004 - eternally grateful to the beloved leader (who is taking the club right back to where it came from incidentally, with a whimper). Some of the classy things they have done on the roof over the years is beyond comprehension of most on here. The Yifter tribute (everton fan who died attending a game in our last top flight appearance just one such example). Moaning isn't a crime. balanced. Well put.
Rhysm Posted 24 March 2015 Posted 24 March 2015 I've only been following City for about a decade but I'd still say my opinion is as valid (probably loads more) than people who have been going longer. ... Imagine how valid Bernie's opinion is then. You debate the point not the person.
Channies6thswan Posted 24 March 2015 Posted 24 March 2015 No matter how much you might hate the manager, players, owners etc of your club, no true fan would ever want their club to lose or fail. If you intend to turn up to a game wanting us to lose, please don't turn up. I have been going to matches 45 years now (I started very young!) and by far the worst time was when Peter Taylor was in charge and I found myself going to matches hoping we would lose. One more defeat and they have to get rid of him I thought. I clearly remember walking down aylestone road with this horrendous feeling in my stomach thinking one more defeat will be worth it to stop him doing any more damage Actually wanting the team I have loved and followed all over the country to lose to one of our rivals. But it was because I loved the club that I wanted this. In retrospect it would have been worth it if it had meant him going earlier. So I understand their feelings and don't think it's fair to say they are not proper supporters etc For me I am not there yet. Pearson has been terrible this season and the blind-faith and chanting his name grates a bit but as an eternally optimistic city fan I still look at the table and think 'just maybe'. Unfortunately it's the hope that really gets you'

Swiss_tony Posted 24 March 2015 Posted 24 March 2015 I've only been following City for about a decade but I'd still say my opinion is as valid (probably loads more) than people who have been going longer. is this a competition? like channy6thswan i've been going 45 years. i also have coaching badges and am a qualified ref. but please, don't let me get in the way of your obvious footballing genius.
Collibosher70 Posted 24 March 2015 Posted 24 March 2015 is this a competition? like channy6thswan i've been going 45 years. i also have coaching badges and am a qualified ref. but please, don't let me get in the way of your obvious footballing genius. Not sure it means anything...Pearson played as a professional and is now a manager and he know bugger all

UpTheLeagueFox Posted 24 March 2015 Posted 24 March 2015 You've never looked at Bentleys, yet you can make that judgement?? Wow It's a pretty accurate guess though
Stadt Posted 24 March 2015 Posted 24 March 2015 You've never looked at Bentleys, yet you can make that judgement?? Wow
Stadt Posted 24 March 2015 Posted 24 March 2015 I think I did look at it once but the design was absolutely shit so I didn't bother

The Yifter tribute (everton fan who died attending a game in our last top flight appearance just one such example). Moaning isn't a crime. Everything you've typed is either untrue, a manipulation of the truth or irrelevant. The first sentence for example, all of it is complete rubbish. Your personal opinion on a few of them has little to do with what's being said. Their age doesn't give them extra authority either - a person's view isn't worth more because they've been watching for longer. And lastly, no-one's denying them the right to an opinion, they're just pointing out how ridiculous it is. Frankly, if you want to see the team lose you're a cvnt. Sorry if that's a bit of North Korean style oppression on my part (I'm guessing you're one of those who likes to resort to that sort of nonsense when someone disagrees) but I really can't stand people who claim to support the team while wanting them to fail.
