Shrenchel Posted 24 February 2010 Share Posted 24 February 2010 Very good win that, we were dangerous 1st half and fought it out well 2nd. Just about value for the win, massive credit to Weale and Hobbs in the 2nd period. Also I love seeing Dyer and N'Guassan in the same side. Waggy's finish was different class.Just a quick hello and fook off to the fans who irronically cheered Weale's goal kicks later on, yes a couple went into touch before but that was bang out of order. Hardly surprised though, our away support has definatly recruited a few more weasels this season. Yeah, it was shameful. He had a fvcking cracker. I think we might have a job on keeping him here if we don't go up and small-cocked morons taking the piss out of him is not gunna help things. All the more shocking that a few of 'ironic' cheers were coming from the sit down, shut up brigade at the front that didn't bother singing a word of encouragement to the team all game. Away support is definitely on the slide.
J.Lisemore Posted 24 February 2010 Share Posted 24 February 2010 Just got back, great win. Hanging on a bit near the end but played very well defensively. Brilliant result, oh and Chris Weale for England!
CosbehFox Posted 24 February 2010 Share Posted 24 February 2010 I wasn't particularly impressed with Wellens tonight. He, like the rest of the team, started the game well, but faded away as soon as we scored the goal and the match wore on. However, despite a few clever free kicks in his favour, he was very slack off the ball and let players spin off him. I actually thought he did a super job in keeping our shape etc. and organising marking. That's opinions for ya. A good away performance. Tight pitch, team who passes it too much ala QPR, we replicated the tactics from the Loft. Whilst people moan about pressure, push up blah blah, when you have a defence like ours which is hardly blessed with pace - you soak the pressure up rather than let a big ball over the top do ya. Guest Posted 24 February 2010 Share Posted 24 February 2010 Just got back. HUGE 3 points that was, keeping us nicely tucked in the playoff positions. Stand out performances from Weale (MOM in my opinion, few dodgy kicks aside he was immense!!) and Hobbs. Waggy fcuking loved the response he got from the crowd. Shite weather but good atmos from our fans, keep it up folks EDIT: oh and as Tommeh said, I don't get fans who berate the guy who kept those three points for us tonight for a couple of bad kicks in what was atrocious weather

marbelladave Posted 24 February 2010 Share Posted 24 February 2010 No chance of getting to the game last night, given the weather late on, perhaps just as well... Sounds like a terrific smash and grab. heard a bit of the commentary, 5live and RL, sounded like 2 different games! Any of you brave souls who made it to the game able to take 5 minutes and tell me how we played would be very appreciated...
Fox92 Posted 24 February 2010 Share Posted 24 February 2010 Awesome first 15 minutes or so but then sat back abit. Had to deal with Doncaster's pressure late on. Weale made some fine saves but his kicking was shocking, along with Brown's, but Nigel should ensure the full back's come short. Wellens and King were terrific, sitting in front of the back four at times. Nice visit to Doncaster, nice little ground.

Must have been at a different game to me, the midfield dropped too deep and let donny play in the second half, King and Wellens allowed too much space when off the ball and didn't provide quality distribution, Nobby looked good on the ball but isn't match fit and wanted too much time, Dany didn't have a great game but lloyd ripped chambers appart. Early on the tactics of having a pacy front 3 gave the donny defence real problems, Nigel obviously learnt from the 1st game

Yeah I thought the ground was alrite to be honest (apart from being a right march from the station.) Generally not of a fan of these new legoland jobs but I doubt there was any cvnt there last night who would have rather been on the open terrace at Belle Vue. But that's probably just because I couldn't get to Brunton Park last season, last night was fine. Front six or so rows can fook off out of life but most of us stood in good voice, and the stewards were more than happy to let us get on with it. MORE UNRESERVED SEATING AT AWAYS. Joe. Posted 24 February 2010 Share Posted 24 February 2010 I fucking love Waghorn, if we can keep hold of him in the summer like we did Hobbs we'll have done brilliantly. I hope he tears up Forest at the weekend for some well-needed revenge. Just wrote up something about him on Vital if anybody's interested.

Karljohn Posted 24 February 2010 Share Posted 24 February 2010 Good night out...sat freezing on Row D in the first half but was quality when Waggy celebrated the goal right in front of us... Moved up to stand near the scoreboard in the corner for 2nd half, 5 degrees warmer, and fans in good voice. Bloke near me shouting 'Ave it! every time Brown cleared. Then a song similar to the Wayne Brown leg breaking one along the lines of Wayne Brown, he cannot pass the ball. Also plenty of banter with a bald doncaster fan. Thought we were solid, we must put serious cash up for Waghorn in May.
MrSpaM Posted 24 February 2010 Share Posted 24 February 2010 Was just going to say finally we get some recognition on the bbc site, But we've bumped off it by cardiffs money issues now. I was amazed the other week when our thrashing of scumthorpe was second to newcastle getting a draw away from home on their site. Surely a 5-1 win deserves more credit than that? Good result though, well on track now.

Yeh i noticed on the 5 live commentry that they had quite a lot of nice things to say about us too. Think people are starting to realise, in terms of decent squads who work well together, we currently have one of the better ones in the championship. Theirs so many negative teams in this division, in terms of team play, i'm happy to say were one of the truely positive ones. It's just nice to hear people calling Leicester a decent side at this level, it's been way too long.

CosbehFox Posted 24 February 2010 Share Posted 24 February 2010 Any of you brave souls who made it to the game able to take 5 minutes and tell me how we played would be very appreciated... Well first 30 minutes....we played 4-3-3. Next thirty.....4-5-1 Last thirty 6-3-1 Whether that was tactical, tiredness or laziness it's difficult to tell. For the stick, King and Wellens have received (I thought they did their primary job)....all Donny did was knock it sideaways. When they did launch a ball, Hobbs normally won it. When it got past him, Weale made two good saves. Solid, away performance....once again should have made more of our first half opportunities. Solano has a cracking footballing brain, I hope he gets fitness to be wise to the pace of the division. Thought Adams did well as an attacking force too, that shot
