davieG Posted 9 August 2012 Share Posted 9 August 2012 The origin of the testimonial was based on the fact that players received relatively little pay, the amount of money they get today I don't see why they need one.

I think Niall Quinn donated his money to a hospital or something.

They don't I would just hope the top players give it to charity.

Wymsey Posted 10 August 2012 Share Posted 10 August 2012 Games like these should congratulate (like Walshy) players that played their part in being one of the best players the club has ever had; for all you lot bumming Logan wanting him to get a testimonial, what exactly has he achieved to deserve this? Yes, nothing.
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 10 August 2012 Share Posted 10 August 2012 David Speedie had one due to his early retirement, we lost 3-0 to Chelsea. There was also one for whom I can't remember, that also acted as Pegguy Arphexad and Theo Zagorakis's last match for Leicester, both scored for City with Pegguy scoring a penalty.
