James. Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 I'm wondering if the 4 mile cushion between me and Upton Park is enough...! Amidst the general racism on one of the Millwall boards it would appear they are quite up for this game. I bet the police can't wait.
Tommy G Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 It will be hyped up big time, but it's only the carling cup second round remember.
Simi Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 It will be hyped up big time, but it's only the carling cup second round remember. Do you really think they care? They've not played each other in years, I suspect it will be carnage in and around London on the day. Despite all the plastic nobs that will be all over this fixture because of Green Street, this game is massive to the people that support the respective teams. Will be very interested to see how the Governing Bodies go about ticket distribution.
Flynny Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 Will be very interested to see how the Governing Bodies go about ticket distribution. One each probably.

Big Ol' Bob Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 Might be going to this, got family down south who are hammers fans. It's like another christmas for them.
LCFC-ARAB Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 Really?Don't know where you got that thought from, nothing better than the atmosphere at cov away! haha yeah i know! isn't it something like the 29 fiercest in the country?? terrible shout
CosbehFox Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 Can someone explain why this is a big game? Local derby (very local given that fans will work with each other etc). Both fans possess big hooligan elements or at least did. The last time they played it was a right-cockney knees up and also the first time that away fans had been allowed the bottom tier of the away end at The Den!!
john_lcfc Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 there is no way milwall will be allowed anymore than 2,000 tickets. 5,000 milwall fans in west ham would cost stupid sums to police. Very interested to see ticket distribution.
Tommeh Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 Ched last night "Brown will have to pull the troops out of Afghanistan for this one" Me "Someone in the Met Police has Just resigned" 'Kin Huge game this.
Wilkesy Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 I think that the last time these two teams met there was something like 1,100 police officers at the game! So should be interesting!
Monk Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 Convenient that I live slap bang between the two stadiums, upton park is about a mile away. Fun.
Edmund Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 Do you really think they care? They've not played each other in years, I suspect it will be carnage in and around London on the day. Fosse Boy Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 Huge derby. Must have been four or five years since they last played? If anyone's got the book "Mad For It" by Andy Mitten, there's a great chapter on the rivalry between the 'Ammers and Milllllllllllllllll. It's all to do with the Thames dockyards from which both teams arose apparently.
Uncle Albert Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 Watched Green Street last night to get me up for it, 'let's fackin have em'. On a serious note, this will be massive. East London will be crazy on the day of the game, hope it's on TV.
john_lcfc Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 wonder how much this will cost the taxpayer!!! LOVE IT!!! :D
Bert Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 To add to this, Leyton Orient are facing Stoke in the second round at Brisbane Road. CARNAGE.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 Wonder how many Millwalll fans they let in. Bet there will be loads of them sat in the West Ham end too. Hope its on TV too.
