Mechanical, with a specialism in fluid dynamics. It's a minimum requirement at hotpoint to be an engineer, so I've heard

Very early days but the Liverpool City region is looking at a tidal barage in the Mersey, potentially the biggest in the world so it is claimed. Lots of support for it locally. https://www.liverpoolcityregion-ca.gov.uk/its-time-for-tidal https://www.newcivilengineer.com/latest/mersey-tidal-energy-scheme-receives-very-strong-public-support-in-first-consultation-29-01-2025/

I disagree, I actually think keeping the building and doing some sort of memorial at the ground level would be better and more powerful than anything that is likely to happen. With that said, I imagine there is a liability issue for the council so keeping it probably doesn't have any support from the authorities. I expect if someone had been held accountable and punishments had been dished out there would probably be less opposition.

Wouldn't look good walking out after the window though. Maybe he was promised something and hasn't had it, maybe not, but it's not like we'll have promised a boatload of money. Everyone knows Jan is rubbish window. Quitting on us now would reflect poorly, especially when you consider there's a good argument we've got worse under him. -
Hold on, Chris. Take it step by step, focus on something small and keep the mind occupied with stuff if you can. Don't give up mate.

To some extent I agree about losing games but that does not apply to yesterday. It wasn't poor it was bloody abject. I think everyone is well aware those chants don't help, it's a bit of gallows humour. When we are 2-0 down to 2 horrific goals after 6 minutes against a relegation rival, what else do you expect? It's light relief. I'm really not big on booing, I thought booing Ward specifically at Wolves and Ayew when he took a corner yesterday is wrong. But you can bet I was booing after their 3rd goal and at half time.

This season I've seen us at home to Wolves and away today. Can't believe how bad we've been.

Who the feck is applauding that shower of shit. What on earth were they watching. My word.

Yeah I mean he looked rusty with his feet but bringing Mads up for discussion after a day like that is daft. The defending was f cking horrific he is not the one to be pointing the finger at, at all.- 265 replies

Everton 4-0 LCFC, post match thread

Absolute shitshow. 3 goals straight down the middle. Ruud can't legislate for individual errors but I see absolutely zero evidence of him instilling anything in this bunch. Steaming pile of shit all round. -
**** off with your buttons lads, so wrong on a football shirt IMO.

Don't know what happened to you in Fulham but I think you need to let it go..
-
Congrats, you've clearly earned it.

Now probably is a good time for armageddon. Maybe the universe just knows we've fu cked it

That said, it's probably the best post in the thread in terms of sheer appropriateness, and your last sentence is spot on.

After a spare if anyone has one.

The tweet suggesting Man Utd are getting billions to redevelop their ground is off the mark. I'm not saying it's all squeaky clean but it's clearly about a much bigger project, of which Old Trafford is part of the context. Manchester have also just announced a consultation on the reconfiguration of Oxford Road Station on the same line. I'm not certain but I think this is all linked. https://www.networkrailmediacentre.co.uk/news/network-rail-launches-consultation-on-plans-to-improve-manchester-oxford-road-station Any which way, I don't think it's that comparable to the Ivanhoe line given the significance of this line.

Exactly. Feed it data that is too small a sample size or biased in favour of any particular variable and it will often just amplify that. Facial recognition/classification being one that I think is fairly well documented as having/having had some pretty big flaws in certain systems because what was being fed in was lacking in terms of representation of minorities. The fault is with the human input, not the output.

Awful stuff but a great film. Mark Ruffalo is great.

I don't know too much but it's worth being aware of the Renters Bill which would change potential terms for an eviction or make a sale less appealing for another landlord for the same reason. I imagine it's a few more months for that to pass but I've no idea how long this typically takes and from memory I think there is some opposition to parts of it at the very least. https://bills.parliament.uk/bills/3764 This mentions a Section 21 which it seems you'll need for an eviction. https://www.rollits.com/news/blog/no-fault-evictions-set-to-come-an-end-in-2025/

Electrics are scary. I installed a new extractor fan earlier this year and it's first time I'd done anything electrical. It made me nervous, but the mechanics of actually doing the thing were a piece of piss. I've got old wiring too so the bit that actually took the time was making sure I was comfortable with exactly which wire was going where. I think fear is a big obstacle for people doing DIY in general. If you have the right tools a lot of it is pretty simple, it's the knowledge and the confidence.

Ugh

Script until the turnover was feeling depressingly familiar. Hopefully this the lift the Bills need.
-
Disappointing this, particularly as Daniels hasn't done anything wrong. I really hope the Bills win, an Eagles Chiefs SB is such a snooze imo but I must admit I think the Eagles would be set up well to beat them.

Good drive there. They need to get a 3 and out.
