  1. I love these threads
  2. Many Evertonians are proud of being bitter - I've seen scarves for sale saying as much. Worse than a half & half scarf of a Tuesday night championship game that.
  3. Yeah, all he's done there is paraphrase that Italian article
  4. You've been here long enough to know better than that Tuna! The transfer sub-forum is like a game of where's Wally except your looking for actual news amongst reams of rubbish.
  5. The mentality element is undoubtedly a huge boost, they will always think they can win until the dying seconds and as it was with Brady and the pats, you can never count them out completely until the other team is in victory formation. I wouldn't be massively surprised if the Chiefs won Sunday but that said and my bias aside, I do think the Ravens team is very good. All of our early season losses were effectively bottled and we have a history of bottling big games since 2012, many of which have been pretty painful, but the last few weeks things have felt different.
  6. No-one is banning conkers. Made up culture war press.
  7. Proven to make you wiser. At least that's the conclusion I've arrived at after stroking my beard and thinking about it for a few hours.
  8. Where on earth have you got this from?
  9. A quick google of that name brings up loads of images of this....
  10. Absolutely. Chelsea and Man U have been spending the same sorts of sums but have had 0 success and arguably have both gone backwards over the last few years. Man City at the very least have always had a strategy and bought players with a pretty clear intention for them. Pep is no doubt a big part of that. It doesn't make it OK by any means but I'm surprised we've not heard more about Man U and Chelsea on this front.
  11. If only. Being a bit literal here - almost all of our players have significant experience at a higher level than the championship, that is the point. Doesn't sound arrogant or entitled to me.
  12. Fair enough, I didn't actually bother to read beyond the headline. Mea culpa. Clearly the second tweet was misleading, and it was always likely that there were going to be thousands of job losses, but this wasn't highlighted by Rishi. They will no doubt have argued Tata could've fvcked off completely and lost even more jobs. Whether they've done a good job negotiating or not, who knows.
  13. Tight game this, going back and forth.
  14. Well done for getting all of that down in writing, that can't have been easy. What you've been through sounds pretty traumatic, you have every right to be upset and angry and whatever else you are about these things. Those who lost their lives were obviously in dark places but that does not diminish your suffering as a result of their actions. Your feelings are completely valid and acknowledging that is important. Clearly this is all a burden on you and sharing it here is a good step. That said, it sounds like you know you need to talk to someone about this and share the burden. I can't speak for anyone else but I can't help but think your wife would want to help you get through this. If you're not there yet, try and speak to your GP about it. Alternatively, there is peer to peer support group called Andy's Man Club (here) that meets every Monday up and down the country. I've been a few times and it has really helped. Blokes have spoken about bereavements, relationships, issues with themselves, all sorts. Might be a good way for you to start sharing in a supportive environment. Keep going mate, and let us know how you get on. I'm rooting for you.
  15. What a half this has been. 3 huge drives from Lamar & co. Defence playing lights out - Texans O has still only scored 3 points after putting 40+ on the Browns last week.
  16. Frustrating 3 and out and letting the punt return through after such a good defensive effort so far.
  17. Let's go Ravens!
  18. I wonder if we get that £1B back? 🤔
  19. I know people find this annoying but have you ever tried to use a rucksack with a self-checkout machine? It takes even longer because the weight is a problem on half the shit you scan and you end up stood waiting for someone to authorise every other purchase.
  20. He's just been on Trevor Noah's podcast. I'm not that bothered about tennis or Kyrgios specifically but it was interesting to hear his perspective.
  21. Obviously money is tight but surely it's worth keeping him and giving him some game time in the PL. Others will be more informed but I thought he'd done reasonably well for us, surely we can get some team to take a chance on him as a "PL Squad player" given he probably isn't costing us much at the moment. Maybe it's not worth waiting an extra year for perhaps a few extra million but it seems short sighted to me to let him go for five now.
  22. Salt deposits are when moisture is coming to the surface of the wall and evaporating, not moisture being absorbed by the wall, so if your wall is drying out from significant damp you would expect to see some deposits. I haven't done much with DPC injection but I don't think it's an exact process. Given how wet the weather has been recently, it could be small weakness in the DPC that has then allowed moisture to continue to rise. Its more likely to be rising than to be a leak from higher up unless there are marks at a higher level somewhere. The suggestion of a gravel drain to the perimeter would be helpful if you can accommodate it externally, even temporarily to help it dry out before some warmer and dryer weather. If the ground level is above your floor level externally in this location that would certainly explain the moisture in the wall. It's more likely to be lime plaster at present and I would avoid replacing this with anything that claims to be moisture or whatever resistant - in that case you will just trap moisture in the masonry and it will have a more detrimental effect on the wall over the longer term. I'd get in touch with the company and see what they think also - the least they can do for free is re-visit and review. Keep us posted.
  23. Unlikely.
  24. Zak Whitbrew - American wheat beer. It's not great but it's better than it looks.
