Riyad Mahrez - The great Artist
David Hankey replied to The whole world smiles's topic in Leicester City Forum
What do you mean "for a team like Leicester"?!! We have every right to hold out for the this type of figure given Mahrez's undoubted talent, the current market valuations and the fact that the likes of Liverpool splash out £75M for a defender. You appear to be saying because it's Leicester City who are not a top 4 club they have no right to try and get the top price for a top player. As for Maddison, who is he?!! -
I hope he does better for the Toon Army than he has for us. Obviously LCFC must have realsied for sometime now that his valuation at the time of his purchase was well over the odds, infact, it was crazy money and has proved to be so.

Poll: What is Riyad Mahrez worth?
David Hankey replied to coalvillefox's topic in Leicester City Forum
Compared to the current valuations and L'pool paying £75M for a defender I see no reason why Mahrez's value doesn't exceed £100M. -
Fantastic servant to Leicester City. Well done, Andy, I wish you all the best for the future.
-
Of course Mahrez will be hurting that the possibility of picking another title winning medal has passed him by but in all honesty he should have acted in a more professional manner this week given the unfortunate result last night at Everton. Advice is; get your head down, work hard and who knows what might happen in the summer.

Some monkey thinking going on here I think. -

I've never said he's always been crap. He wasn't worth £8M and his valuation hasn't increased irrespective as to what he has done. You may think he is an idol but in reality he's just one of many players who has come and who will go and not lived up to an inflated price tag. -

You can quote all the stats you like and make them say what you want but at the end of the day successive Leicester City managers don't see a future for him at Leicester. -

Man City were trying to get Mahrez on the cheap and it's backfired. The cheeky bastards don't deserve to have him. He is easuly worth £100M plus.

And what has he done since? If he was that brilliant he'd be commanding a fee of £35/40M now. -

If Ulloa is so great as some of you seem to think why didn't he command a regular place in the side. Citing selective goals does not reveal the whole picture. As for Slimani & Musa we all know we paid well over the odds for these two chumps as their eventual price tags when they move on will confirm. Incidentally, the "bargain of the century", without doubt, is Harry Maguire. -
No need for disparaging remarks by either Club. We all know where we are and where we've been. All I would say is the 'Blades' looked a bit blunted at present.

Never worth £8M back then and his valuation, unfortunately, has not improved since. -

A lot of money wasted I'm afraid.

City 5-1 The Posh FA Cup 4 Round Post Match Thread
David Hankey replied to urban.spaceman's topic in Leicester City Forum
Great result for LCFC and one you'd expect against inferior opposition. Hope Diabate is as good in the PL. -
I wonder if Chester FC have tried tapping up their big-money neighbours Man City & Man Utd? Cash in the back pockets for them.
-
What is the likelihood of any of the 6 teams above us coming unstuck, highly unlikely I would have thought. All we can do is continue in the same vein since the turn of year, keeping clean sheets and taking 3 points where we can. Finishing 7th and getting to the FA Cup Final won't be so bad.

VAR will need time to settle in, that's obvious. However it is because of TV and their pundits who see incidents in slow motion and from umpteen different angles as compared to the one off real time the match officials that it is being introduced. Now the likes of Shearer reckon it is a "shambles". You can't have it both ways. Personally I would prefer for matches to be decided on the basis of true decisions being made and if that includes VAR for assistance then so be it.

His league record of 12 goals in 48 games for Manchester City obviously could have been more but it wasn't and it doesn't necessarily mean because you play more you'll score more. As for Arthur Rowley 251 goals in 303 games and an overall league tally of 434 goals in 619 games. I doubt that will ever be repeated and never played for his country, unbelievable!!

Probably not a "bad" player but one certainly not worth £30M not even in this climate of crazy valuations.
