He should do, but Cooper is Southgate 2.0. He'll probably play Ndidi as a CAM and Ayew at LW, so that we can press from the front. We'll concede and in desperation he'll throw on Facundo and Mav.

The scousers will be sniffing around. They signed Nyoni at 16 and he's already made his 1st team debut.

7 in 30 games is not that bad of a record for a squad player, averaging almost 1 in 4.

That's the crux of the problem, the demand doesn't seem there.

Same here. Seeing his name on the bench last game, over guys like Hamza, who may not be the greatest player but gives 100% all the time, pisses me off. The guy has openly said he doesn't want to be here, performs like he doesn't want to be here, but is still in the matchday squad, over someone who'll literally run through a brickwall for us.

If we'd started with Mav, Ricky and Facundo, we could've easily got something from this game. On the face of it, it looks like a honourable loss, but realistically Villa won without getting out of 2nd gear. The point is will Cooper learn from this. I have my doubts, I think Ayew and JJ will definitely play the next game and our gameplan will be to hang on and have a go in the last 30mins. He just seems a very conservative coach, abit like Southgate.

Utd do like to waste money on some absolute rubbish. 110M+ for Zirkzee and Rasmus.

This would've absolutely been us under Enzo. Burnley got 24 pts last season playing this way, Saints won't even manage that.

He had an ok game, nothing spectacular. What you see is what you get, a solid hardworking pro. Personally I think Tielmans showed both our CMs, how a deep lying playmaker should play, especially offensively.

If this doesn't convince Cooper to start with Mavs, nothing will.

One of Bobby or Ayew is always going to play, because they are Cooper signings. Also what is Soumare doing on the bench ahead of Hamza.

For me, Odsonne tips it from a poor window into an ok one. Now its upto Cooper to see what he can do with this squad.

Entirely predictable that nobody wants to pay for him. He'll be loaned out for the next 2 years and then walk away for free. It's so obvious, we should just let him go for free now and save ourselves the stress.

I always look at Villa and think what if. Just 2 years ago we were both struggling in the PL. Villa sacked their manager and got Emery who took them into Europe. We kept hold of Rodgers too long and got relegated. They have left us far behind and are a top team now. It's going to be a pretty one sided game.

This is why he should've been given far more game time in pre season.
