  1. Thanks for that. Homeless now. Kids crying.
  2. I'm not revising any expectations based on one game at a close rival. We have an entire back four missing through injury and two stupid errors in possession cost us two goals. Terrible to watch and even worse when the commentator clearly has a soft spot for the team he's covering, but this is still our strongest squad and we'll have better days.
  3. She objected to every proposal the club put forward based solely on too much parking in the area. Became much quieter as we became more successful. The fact that there's an arena and leisure facilities planned means the council will do everything it can to push it through, these are very different times with the club seen as an asset not an eyesore.
  4. He was never bullied. In fact when Antonio took it off him 3 times, he nicked it back twice. The way the commentators were banging on, you'd think he'd been stripped naked and tied to a goalpost. His goal aside, Tielemans was far worse, one of his worst games since he signed.
  5. If they had Wilf for a month they'd forget they ever had Rice.
  6. The club took out two loans early in 2020 to cover Seagrave and the potential stadium expansion. Repayments being based on future TV revenues. https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/leicester-city-bank-loans-training-2475803
  7. Maggie Bodell-Stagg. Absolute battleaxe.
  8. Amartey's problem is that he's always the stand-in. That itself will knock your confidence. He must've played 3 or 4 different positions or roles under 3 or 4 managers here but always had someone in front of him. Even when he got a bit of a run under Puel he had that leg break and lost his place again. . The guy will never give less than 100% but there's never going to be a time where he owns the shirt.
  9. I don't know about accepting we'll be crap again, I've barely started accepting we're actually a half-decent side! I still expect there to be a dismal run, a poor season and at some point a relegation battle. Anyone outside that Super 6 has a general expectation of that because football is cyclical. Villa, Forest and Leeds have all shown that dining at the top table can quickly become a Harvester doggy bag. If it happens it happens, but the longer it lasts the more desperate we are to hang on to it I guess
  10. It's a good idea but having lost Ings today and potentially JWP too, I don't see them selling off the last of their spine, even for decent money.
  11. Sticking a few goals past Wycombe or Burton means nothing in the context of the season anyway. Formations change, players change. Not sure Brendan really needs 45 mins to see that Daka & Vardy have similar styles. He'll know that anyway and a few days of training will have pretty much confirmed it. It's unlikely the academy lads being thrown in will feature much either, it's just rotating players and getting minutes under their belt. We had so many niggles and players missing for weeks at a time last season he'll just be focusing on getting everyone up to a level and getting as many as possible ready to go.
  12. Arsenal's fans haven't come to grips with their new status yet. They're the new Everton, past glories fading by the year, the top 6 is a good finish to build on and yet historic enough for them to have delusions of grandeur every summer. They need the reality of a football season to bite to realise what they really are again. Maddison was seven years old when they last won the league.

  14. The FA move a game away from Wembley? Can't see that happening.
  15. I've seen stuff like that on the insta stories already, think it was KDH & Barnes and they've done it plenty in the past too. Maybe I'm just from the generation that only saw players in training with the regular runs up Bradgate and Beacon.
  16. I'm really not that arsed. The club don't engage in speculation on transfers and only announce anything when there's something to say. Pics and vids of training is entertaining for half an hour, then it's just monotonous. Not sure we really have the banter like the days of Shinji & Fuchs that's worth coverage.
  17. I mean, what do you want them to say? There's only so many pics of players training that anyone can find interesting. Literally just players doing drills and pics of them laughing. Oh and there goes Harvey Barnes getting in his car after another sweaty workout. As for engaging with fans? We've had one home game in 18 months. At a time of soshul distancing there's only so many ways that you can engage.
  18. Not big on the Spurs bashing but it's a crazy stat so......
  19. Taking away the anonymity from racists takes the anonymity from people that need to be anonymous. People with certain sexual orientations, political views or jobs will simply stop using social media if they can't be anonymous online. Everyone knows how mental these places go if you offer a controversial viewpoint. If people feel endangered by having their whereabouts or identity compromised they'll simply stay away from them altogether. It'd increase workplace bullying and in some cases could even endanger a life if you cannot be anonymous. Better still, why don't they just tweak their algorithms? I did a 3 week ban for calling a Chelsea fan "embarrassing" after they made a joke about Vichai's crash. Because calling someone embarrassing is apparently hate speech. Similiarly when anyone mentions the N-word and any other racially-divisive words why don't they just flag it up and delete the post. It already happens with Covid or Vaccinations, there's stickers put up on the posts, so it's not beyond their with and wisdom to do the same for racism, surely?
  20. I can pinpoint mine. 2010 when Rooney walks off the pitch moaning "it's nice to be booed by your own fans". We'd coped with things like Maradona in 86, the pens in 90 and 96 and even with things like Beckham getting sent off etc that was just bad luck and things going against us but 2010 was the point where I just looked at them as over-priviledged mercenaries out on a boys holiday. Most not even bothered about singing an anthem or doing an interview afterwards. And then that ungrateful scrote walks off the pitch moaning about fans that had paid their life savings in some cases to watch a pile of crap. The current team is devoid of characters (whatever they do with their hair) and there's just no-one I can relate to or want to do well.
  21. Last time the country was this united about football was probably wanting us to win the league in 2016. I thought I'd be mildly excited by now but I've been the same all the way through the tournament. With no Leicester representation in the squad, I'm just not arsed if they win today or not. I just can't bring myself to back the likes of Grealish, Henderson, Sterling etc that I've usually got no good words for when they play us.
  22. We don't need a summer of marquee signings, some positions we just need a reliable operator and he's one of those 7/10 players that just get on with the job and slot into whatever position they're asked.

    Maddison

Barnes and Perez have both been off doing their own training and Ricky P & Wilf have both been showing off with their own PTs. Maddison gets a lot of shit for being flash, showing off his cars and ridiculous fashion sense but that's virtually every young footballer on Insta now. I agree, since Xmas he's lost his way a bit, he started off talking a lot about making himself the talking point and making people see him as the centre of the team but it must've been pbvious to him by the turn of the year that he wasn't getting in the Euros side and he lost the focus. The question is - if he stays - will having a kid focus his mind again like it's done for Youri, Wilf and others or will he carry on drifting because Southgate won't want to break up his Euro squad in a rush to accomodate others.
  24. Been down today, a few browsers but not that busy. 15 minutes to look around, see that most stuff was XS or XXXL or kids shorts (as ever). Queued for less than 2 minutes to pay and out. Probably worst selection they've had and least reduced prices. Made me wonder if they actually wanted rid of it.
  25. Was cheering every save he made, the booing he got was un-necessary, a few humourless dickheads in the crowd as normal
