  1. We've seen games abandoned with wider scorelines than 1-0 but thankfully the internet wasn't as big then.
  2. Or play Ayew on the left and drop Mavididi who offers nothing.
  3. Aside from the bigger clubs, how much was the average transfer in 2000? Certainly wasn't £5.5m. That was a lot of money and reflected in the fact Akinbiyi stayed our record signing for years and years after. He was a terrible signing. But I would argue other big signings have contributed much less and are worse value for money than Slimani. Adrien Silva spring to mind, perhaps Matt Mills too. And don't get me started on the current crop that have contributed two relegations.
  4. Underrated City.
  5. I've been three or four times, never had any trouble really.
  6. Go on Lincoln.
  7. If rotation happens it needs to be the home game against Wrexham. We need to be at our strongest going to WBA.
  8. It's bad enough Sunderland got promoted after finishing 14 points behind Sheffield United, and Sheffield United having to beat Bristol City to get to Wembley despite finishing 22 points above them.
  9. The same Newcastle backed by Saudi Arabia. Yeah, I don't mind if they do get screwed.
  10. Why does that mean the league is shite? Perhaps those three are just better than us/Southampton/Ipswich from the previous season. Burnley were always going to be interesting, given how few they conceded in the Championship, and Le Bris has proved himself to be a decent manager at Sunderland so in the long term it will be interesting to see how they go on too. I wouldn't call Wolves rolling over for Leeds either, Wolves are shit and if it wasn't for the bottom three being so shit last season then they'd have been in a genuine relegation battle (plus they lost two key players this summer).
  11. Tbf last season the race for Europe in the Premier League was wide open right up until the last day. Can't remember the last time either league had a title race right up until the last day. Probably three or four years back when Liverpool ended up in 2nd but 1 point off winning the league.
  12. They are now close to appointing Roberto Olabe, again he's supposed to be one of the best DOF. Who knows if Monchi left or if the club got rid. And to be fair to Villa at least they act.
  13. But how have MASSIVE club Leeds got less than Palace, Brighton and two Championship sides.
  14. They were nothing special on the day and we should have beaten them. It was nice to see an open game, Lampard clearly a manager who wouldn't go somewhere and defend, but for me it's 2 points dropped rather than 1 gained.
  15. Chelsea fans call it him now.
  16. He’s been shite for ages. Always one that seems to escape criticism though. Hopefully dropped for WBA.
  17. People talking about being able to sell him on We've wanted rid for how many years now and nobody has come in from him aside from two loans moves to Middlesbrough and Sheffield United. And even they weren't bothered after.
  18. We've got one. The Kasabian song. It got a good airing on Saturday at Oxford.
  19. We must be the best club to play for with the length of contracts we hand out for such average players.
  20. Rashford's winner was a screamer but his header was superb.
  21. I said this other day as I thought the same. Can't remember the last time I saw kids just playing football in the street.
  22. We'd just stayed up and Villa were awful. Mad to think within the next decade both clubs would play in the Champions League.
  23. He isn't 25. Not having it.
  24. No. Last time they beat us here was at Filbert Street, think they did the double of us.
  25. Like us. Joke he was invited over here. Pleased to see his picture projected onto Windsor Castle...
