  1. Current squad - 9th to 16th. If we actually improve the squad - 1st to 8th. Marti doesn't know his best XI yet so giving him and our prospective squad position the benefit of the doubt.
  2. This all feels a little knee-jerk. Yes we lost to Huddersfield, and its our first-round loss for many years, but poor Marti is working with a bunch of entitled prima donnas that need to be turfed off, and they will be eventually. Have to keep faith that he gets the funds and then finds a team suitable for at least a top half finish. To answer the question, no, I genuinely believe this team will not be relegated again. However a substantial culture change on all levels of the club needs to happen to make sure of it, and a squad refresh too. Too many players that are comfortable and able to not give that 100% our club deserves, and they should just be left to rot whilst we have a more committed starting XI to work with.
  3. And not just the case of not trying, but also trudging around in a giant sulk like Winks. Don't care about the theatrics in the background, they still should be professional enough to do their job and play for the badge that is paying their weekly salary!
  4. Hamza currently gets 4.6... That's after scoring a stunner. What would it have been without the goal? đź‘€
  5. Not many players I can recall that have always made a team worse when they have been on the pitch, but Soumaré ticks this box. Has not improved our squad in any way at any time, and this will be another player stealing a wage that will simply leave on a free. And good riddance. Anyone willing to come buy him before then would have more money than sense.
  6. Another one where sentimentality gets in the way where the club is concerned. Hard to say what the lad is actually prolific at in any sense. He is at times OK, other times utterly ineffective.
  7. Hooray, means we focus on survival more earlier than I expected!
  8. Certainly mine of choice and only a short walk from the King Power too.
  9. They don't. Faes is just unfortunate enough to be Belgian, which carries with it a certain reputation for being, well, good. Soumaré and Vestergaard don't seem to have that same level of arrogance and entitlement, but equally it's not lost on us that they're just not very good and need to be eventually moved on.
  10. Another one we will probably lose on a free. Did himself no favours today with a poor performance, before and after Skipp's HT substitution. Slow, ponderous, lethargic, passing backwards more often than not... Different season, same Soumaré. Sell him in this window whilst we still can.
  11. You certainly made your point. A peaceful protest that more than emphasises what needs to change, and I'm glad we could help play our part in shoving the message down Chansiri's throat. One of those rare moments that I'm prpud of our fanbase as a whole. No football fan's club should ever be in the position they are in, and if your chairman has any sense, he should sell up as soon as possible. Good luck for the rest of the season. You, as fans and as a team on the pitch, did Sheffield Wednesday proud. 👏
  12. Thanks to his first name, I still found myself questioning if people were still booing him despite scoring what was the winning goal... His reaction (cupping ears to the fans) absolutely stank and will do little to change the minds of those who want him gone, myself included.
  13. Skipp and Soumaré have to be the worst possible centre midfield that we can put forward. If we could have afforded to keep Ndidi and if Winks was a little less petulant, then the two we had start today would be confined to the bench. Can still hear the sound of Spurs laughing and Skipping all the way to the bank.
  14. Your mood in 10 words? Still pissed with the hierarchy, cautiously optimistic for the season. Where will we finish? 8th, mentally preparing for a second season in the Championship. How many points will we be deducted? 9. EFL (and Premier League) will want to make a BIG example of us. Nick can't save us a second time. Who will be our most important player? Fatawu. A squad deprived of proven goalscorers will the star winger to step up. Who will be top scorer? Not going to be Daka is it? Fatawu is a safe bet. What are you most excited about? The youth coming through the ranks, and seeing what Cifuentes can do. What are you most worried about? Not having an quality striker. May as well call us a shittier Arsenal. What’s one thing you most want to see this season? More communication or actual financial competence at the top. Which player is going to surprise us? Okoli. Looked good in preseason, hoping it carries through the season. Which player do you most want out the door? You only want one? Faes. I could name at least three more. Which player linked with a move are you most desperate to keep? El Khannouss, but he's going in any case. Too good for us. Will Martí Cifuentes still be the manager this time next year? Hopefully. We need some actual stability for a change, every system needs time to bed in.
  15. Looked to me like he was saying goodbye. Sad to see him go, but at the same time, we need to sell him. Such a frustrating place to be in.
  16. Considering he bounces from club to club like a hot potato, I'd say he is bang average at best. DG always thought he was better than he actually is and kicked off when he wasn't getting the game time. Petulance. Could never beat a man, end product was questionable. We overpaid for this guy because he scored against us when playing for Birmingham.
  17. Glad he is gone. One of many that I hoped we would sell this summer, hopefully this triggers the fire sale that the club sadly needs to refresh its squad.
  18. If I was to send Daka any kind of message, it would be to leave. JV won't accept a wage decrease, so the idea of a return is dead for many legitimate reasons. As much as I like the fact that he got his 500/200 ending, he left the club much later than he really should have done. Sticking my neck out and saying that the reason that he is still without a club, says to me that his own financial/playing demands are too high, or that those same suitors struggle to see where he can fit into their sides. Time to either lower his expectations, or retire.
  19. Apparently Daka is...! Maybe also consider about the wage situation, JV would be commanding a ridiculous wage being a free agent. We need to move on, and we can't afford to be frivolous with our spending. We overpaid on JV massively over the last few years on wages, and we can't afford to make these kind of mistakes again. Unless you are Rudkin in disguise, then just ignore everything I just said and sign him again anyway.
  20. It's almost like we all, including JV himself, expected every suitable club to be falling over themselves to sign him. It hasn't worked out that way. He is 38, and everyone will have seen him play last season in a relegated side. Any prospective club would be trying to think how they can incorporate an ageing player, with decreasing speed and effectivity, into their side. And most are deciding it's just not worth it. The longer this goes on, the sadder the story gets for him. Probably needs to just retire now and maybe work on starting a coaching career and get his badges. For a late bloomer at the top level, he has so much experience and know-how that could be passed on.
  21. Honestly, this is about as useful as signing Alex Smithies who didn't play. Literally no point to this unless we have no other options available. Negative enough?
  22. I know Topps Tiles shirt had a bit of a bad rep for being an ugly AF shirt but after this, I take it back. This latest instalment of betting/ gambling companies for a shirt sponsor is a disgrace. The family club vision is well and truly dead. I'd say good luck selling that abomination of a KBet shirt Top, but if decreased revenue from shirt sales gets you, Rudkin and Whelan out faster, so be it.
  23. Opened the door and you walked right on through, good for you. Missed the dash between the words though, so you lose a couple of points for missing out basic punctuation.
  24. Call me ill-informed, but never heard of this guy before the rumours started, but here we are. Good luck Marti... Welcome to the shitshow, sure you and Rudders will get on just fine.
  25. An extremely damming set of results across all aspects of how a club should be run. One can only hope these findings will actually count for something for a change.
