Ruud awakening for the Premier League!
Jacnah replied to DJ Barry Hammond's topic in Leicester City Forum
Really not sure whether this is a good appointment or not. I am however glad they have rolled the dice and not stuck with Cooper -
There is clearly a fighting spirit in the team that, if the players weren't with the manager, would not be there as consistently as it is. He's doing better in terms of results than many of us feared. There comes a point where those of us who are actually prepared to change opinions based on evidence start giving him some credit. Im not saying I'm fully convinced, but hes clearly doing somethings right.

Saturday 3 August v FC Augsburg pre-season friendly
Jacnah replied to davieG's topic in Leicester City Forum
I know its a friendly so i'm not going to take to much from it, but I've got to be honest with you davieG, cant defend and cant score doesnt sound like general play is ok. Its a version of enzo ball thats less effective and considerable more boring...which to be frank takes some doing -
I agree, although it has to be said that there were flashes of brilliance and very pleasing on the eye football as well. The problem was the turgid stuff signifcantly outweighed the brilliant by a long long margin..... at least for me it did. I recognise that others liked the tactical nature of the games and thats fair enough

Leicester 1-0 Sunderland Post Match Thread.
Jacnah replied to Muzzy_no7's topic in Leicester City Forum
i agree with most of your sentiments, but I’m sure we can both acknowledge the good work enjoyed he’s done, the position he has got us to and be desperate for him to succeed. All that said, to be successful in the long run i feel he needs to have a more multi dimensional philosophy. I feel that ‘controlling the game’ regresses very often to ‘controlling the ball’ which isn’t the same thing. An unintended consequence is that the style often (usually) suppresses offensive spirit. -
What a Difference a Decade Makes ... Same Results, DIfferent Vibe
Jacnah replied to KingsX's topic in Leicester City Forum
Obviously everyone sees things through their own perpective and each of us is entitled to our opinions. It doesnt make us entitled or lessor fans, whatever the view point is. I think everyone involved deserves massive credit for turning the club around and having the season we are having. Just because we 'should' be promoted with this squad doesnt mean we automatically would be, so hats off to everyone involved. Without a doubt the club and fans objectives for this is season are being met. Bravo. Now i can say all that and at the same time, and far to frequently, find it massively dull and uninspiring. Its rarely worth turning up until about 60 min. Those two view points are not mutually exclusive and the latter point is why, in my humble opinion, there is as the OP suggested, a bit of a malaise. If youve been watching the club for more than the last decade then I doubt whether 'entitlement' is a thing I think like most, I would see it as tolerable in the short term because of the results and the desire to get back into the Permier League. I dont think most would find it tolerable in the long term though. Football is about passion and excitement. The current methods, at least for me, suck to much of that out of the game. This is nothing to do with the effort the players put in which is self evident. Its the style -

Im definitely on board with the team rather than the individual. I think Mahrez is the best technical player ive seen at Leicester and probably most other clubs whilst Kante was a phenomenon. All that said and done and despite him coming to the end, there is only one GOAT
-
I can accept the fact that results don’t always go your way and that you can’t play like Brazil every game, but Im struggling to accept, despite our position in the league, such consistently tedious to watch football.

Things that you prefer about the championship
Jacnah replied to BenTheFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
Lots of things i like about the championship, much of which has already been mentioned. That said, I want to get out of it as fast as possible and much of the love in is because we’ve won three on the bounce. If we’d lost those games we all know that there would be no love in on these pages -
what a lovely chap James Justin come across as. Very eloquent, well spoken and humble. .....and Mark Albrighton ... but then again its what weve come to expect from him
-
just remind me which game you were watching to day
-
Good luck to him. Its inevitable our best players will move on after relegation and thats not a one sided benefit. Decent funds allows us to do more ourselves in the transfer market. Barnes has done nothing wrong, appears to have behaved with integrity and honesty.
-
I wouldnt be suprised if some one did the research that you'd find most, if not, all other clubs of our size, stature and finances have similar issues. I doubt its a 'Leicester' issue. Its not a situation any of us would welcome and yes there are legitimate questions to be asked, but, as others have pointed out its not simple or easy when players hold the power
-
ive wondered exactly the same thing. I dont really know how all parties have got themselves into this situation, but there is a decent player in there (certainly at this level) if you play to his strengths.Even if we dont play deep all the time having optionality is always a good thing. £70k a weeks worth of good thing...well thats another matter

James Maddison completes move to Spurs
Jacnah replied to AllGoneTitsSchlupp's topic in Leicester City Forum
good deal all around I think. The player gets what he wants, spurs get a very good player and most importantly for us we have funds to invest rather than this coming at the end of the window when we cant reinvest. -
Manager for the Championship rebuild - who do you want?
Jacnah replied to Happy Fox's topic in Leicester City Forum
or potential to be brilliant and just what we need -
Part of the reason it isnt sustainable for clubs without very large revenues is the fact that a club becomes a victim of its own success. The buy low sell high model falls down because, once you reach a level of success, you can no longer afford to buy low. Its essential, in order to sustain the success, that you mostly buy better than you have. Would we, for example, have gambled on Vardy from non league in the last 6-7 years, or kante, or Mahrez. Most likely not. You then add to the mix the fact that losing your most talented players is virtually inevitable (Vardy staying at Leicester is a bit of an outlier) because they will earn more and most likely win more, then things become very difficult to sustain. Its all cyclic unless the club has the finances to drive through it. The current set up does nothing but strengthen the hegmony of the rich clubs. If you accept that then the move to super leagues and franchises as a global 'business model' becomes another inevitability....eventually. (sorry for the rant at the end!!)

100%. tbf and maybe it’s wrong to say it, but our troubles have 100% re-energised my enthusiasm which was beginning to be tested due to the overwhelming mediocrity. I’m terrified, on the verge of a heart attack and loving it
-
If its time to see who you want in the trench with you, most of the whiners on FT can take a hike. Yes were in deep shit. Yes we coulda woulda shoulda. but we didn’t. The only thing that matters is what we do next. We’re still in it and most of those around us would want to be in our position not theirs
-
he wont be managing a premier league club.....
-
hahaha...whay am i not suprised!
-
hes been brilliant for us for many years..probably the GOAT, but, age catches up with every player and his time as a starter is, realistically, done
