Youth striker scoring for first team

Watching Tyler Walker score for Forest the other day, made me think there's nothing like one of your own stepping up into the first team and scoring.

I remember when Tommy Wright scored at home Vs Forest. Scenes!

We've had Andy King score, moore and Schlupp but there's nothing quite like an out and out striker stepping up.

If relegation is confirmed before last day of season would be good for a youngster to come off the bench i think.

For those who didn't get it, it was Harry Panayiotou against Leeds, back in the silent film era.

Hahaha Neil Warnock.

Fvcking loved that kit

Remember thinking that we'd see big things from Harry the following season...

Wasn't he only on for about a minute prior to the goal as well? Must have the best goals-per-minute ratio of any Leicester player ever.

It's painful reading people complain about Panayioutou not getting in the team after scoring.

The ball hit him, guys. It hit him and went it in. Yes it was his goal but it did nothing to demonstrate any great ability. I could've scored that goal - that isn't arrogance on my part, it's just a recognition of how easy it is to be hit by a ball and for it to go into a net.

If anyone thinks that cameo at Leeds was evidence that he's got what it takes to be in the first team they're absolutely kidding themselves.

This post makes me think that Harry - LCFC is not Harry Panayioutou

Absolutely agree anyone watching the under 21's regularly will know he isn't good enough

Don't worry, we won at the weekend so people need to dig at the management about something.

Did our winner at the weekend not come from an academy graduate?

Forest's goal looked very decent, it has to be said.

Definitely hearing the most promising noises about our upcoming youngsters that I have done for a while.

you mean like future England CB George Taft?

he might not lead the line but in hink he be playing regular football with us , as kramaric would of left aswel

I don't know how likely Kramaric is to leave, but that still leaves us with Ulloa, Vardy, Wood and Nugent who have all proved their worth at Championship level. Only injuries would get him on the bench.

I doubt very much that will happen under Pearson.  Even after we had secured promotion last season (and then the title a few games later), Pearson made very few changes to the side.  This included the absurd decision to continue to play GTF which resulted in the automatic extension of his contract.  We still have many teams to play who are scrapping for relegation, and even if our relegation is confirmed, Pearson is not the sort of character to play a weaker side especially when the teams we are up against still have something to play for.

Don't remember a single person saying that in a genuine manner.

Harry must have been seen as talented enough to be worthy of an appearance for us. Think him like many other players need some loan deals offering consistent game time, get them the experience of competitive football and hopefully they can come back and be good enough for our team whether it be the championship or prem league, I think a lot of these youth teams players are capable, they just need the right experience.
