Rincewind Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Looked at the first three points Burnley 5 points = 31 QPR 4 = 27 Sunderland 3 = 33 So could 3 points be enough? It was just a quick guess. Sunderland have a tough run in Arsenal and Chelsea last two games amd Us at home and Everton away
ousefox Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Newcastle are ****ed. Yep they are right in the shit if we beat them
CPW22 Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 5 or more points and we should be fine, I'd like to think we'll get that from Newcastle, Sunderland and QPR.
ScouseFox Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 if we take 4 points from our next 3 then we are gonna survive imo. reckon if we beat newcastle and get a point from chelsea/southampton then we will just need to not lose vs sunderland or qpr and we're sweet. 36 should see us safe. sunderland might get 3 pts vs us, but i can't see them getting any more, really. hull look buggered too. can't see them getting two more wins. outside chance of newcastle genuinely getting no more points, too. so 36 would put us above them, too.
Fox92 Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Very nervous. Trying to not look too far ahead. I look at our current form and I think we should be beating Newcastle but then I remember this is football and anything can happen. It's so tight it's unbelievable.
Rincewind Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Hull have four games at home but they are against top teams. They may still pick up a couple of draws off them. Cant see them losing all home games. They won away today.

Away no less Sunderland are experts at grinding a result when they need to, they are well experienced at this!
Rincewind Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Has any team that was bottom of the PL at Xmas avoided relegation? I am sure they had not the last time we were there but that was a few years ago.
Mickyblueeyes Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Our run in looks the best on paper. We need 4/5 points to stay up and looking at the remaining 5 we have the opportunity to do that and should be able too. The Newcastle game is the must win for me from the remaining ones. They are on a slump and losing to them would hurt more mentally than any of the others simply because of that. It will seem like a missed opportunity and put pressure on the players to perform and gain points in the remaining 3. Need to beat them and il sit back and say we've done it (just about).
Gary Eatfood Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Has any team that was bottom of the PL at Xmas avoided relegation? I am sure they had not the last time we were there but that was a few years ago. West Brom 2004 and Sunderland last season.
Rincewind Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 West Brom 2004 and Sunderland last season. Ah good, I feel a bit more confident now. Although there is a club already relegated by now. It is a lot closer this year. 3/8 teams can go down.
Carlos88LCFC Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Funny to think that in our 'mini season' that all the staff and players keep talking about. We are unbeaten! Before a game I think "if we win this one we are staying up" How come we win and I am still worried?! Haha! Burnley & QPR are all but relegated which leaves either Sunderland, Hull, Villa, Newcastle or us to fill the last spot... We need to keep winning games and not look at what other teams are doing in my opinion! We have won 4 in a row which is quite a rarity for teams outside the top 4/6. Let's keep this momentum going and we could pick something up against Chelsea I believe!! They won't have faced many teams that 'apply their trade' like us before that's for sure! Webbo Posted 26 April 2015 Posted 26 April 2015 Never mind about bottom a Xmas, we were bottom at Easter. This could be the greatest escape ever.
Guest Posted 26 April 2015 Posted 26 April 2015 Southampton have a lot to say about the end of the season.
Guest Posted 26 April 2015 Posted 26 April 2015 We could be hoping for burnley to find a bit of form and win/draw with Hull and Villa.
Carlos88LCFC Posted 26 April 2015 Posted 26 April 2015 Southampton have a lot to say about the end of the season. Pelle seems to have found his scoring boots and they are challenging for Europe. They hammered Sunderland last game, same again hopefully. We had a tight game with them, tried to score and they got us on the counter could be a great game of football between us and them when they are down here... Both teams will be set up offensively. QPR should hopefully have nothing to play for come the end of the season so that should be 3 points in the bag for us & Newcastle will get a spanking as well hopefully. I'm at around a 80% chance of us staying up now with those fixtures for other teams that simply can't win games or some even score goals! Let's hope we stay positive, if we play the way we did in our previous home games, we WILL pick up enough points to keep us in this league and then build on this positive style of football next season. Finn Claw II Posted 26 April 2015 Posted 26 April 2015 Avoid defeat at Sunderland and beat Newcastle - I think that could put Sunderland down.
dedlock Posted 26 April 2015 Posted 26 April 2015 Only Hull have a better goal difference than us. It's important we keep scoring and not conceding.
CPW22 Posted 26 April 2015 Posted 26 April 2015 Avoid defeat at Sunderland and beat Newcastle - I think that could put Sunderland down. This. I keep looking at Sunderlands run in and I can't see them getting many points at all, although people thought that last year. If we beat Sunderland I don't think they'll get more than 33 points.
