That's because our glass is always half empty!! We've just won 5 out of the last 6 and from the outside looking in looks like we're in cruise control!! As City fans it's never that simple!!

Southampton have lost their last four games away from home, and lack confidence away from the south coast apparently. Needless to say we need to make it as intimidating as hell for them on Saturday. They're still an excellent team, but confidence is a huge thing in sport.

I know that. I'd just never heard of Toonside before.

Southampton W
Sunderland D
QPR W

Leicester       41 -11

Hull                38 -14
Newcastle     35 -29
------------------------
Sunderland   34 -27
QPR              30 -25
Burnley         27 -30

Interestingly if we manage a win against Sunderland I have us down as finishing 13th. Imagine lol

We will beat Sunderland. we are fighters and that is the match we'll be most up for. Just like Burnley.

Predicting which team will eventually accompany Burnley and QPR back to the Championship is akin to

identifying the ins and outs of a serialised thriller.

As each game throws up its result, the picture - and options -change. As far as the Foxes are concerned,

the final score of 1-3 in last night's match Hull v Arsenal brought even more into focus not only the 'Goal

Difference' factor but the fact that when these are the same for two teams as it is now with the Foxes and

the Tigers, we are above Hull due to having scored more goals.

So who do I think will occupy that third place? Well, I wouldn't be surprised if it were Newcastle! Not only were they thrashed on Saturday, but there is much discontent with the 'Williamson' incident, the row between the captain and the goalie on the bus, the discontent of the fans back on Tyneside, the failure to get a new manager - in all, a once very proud club in almost total disarray.

Although QPR will be relegated, (I can't see them getting much change out of Man City this Sat. or their visit to us ) they will leave the PL with a final show of defiance at home to Newcastle whose last two games are at home to WBA (winners at Man Utd) and West Ham - and I can't see any points being gained by the Geordies in these three games. So, that's my forecast!

Hull aren't going down. It's us, Sunderland or Newcastle.

Or Hull.

I wouldn't swap our run-in for any of the others - not even for Sunderland with their game in hand.

A draw H Southampton and a win over QPR (who will already be down)... 38 points.

Hull might beat Burnley but can't see them getting anything at Spurs, and then Home to Man United last game of season... Even if they draw. 38 points. Down on Goals scored.

Gonna stick my ostrich neck out and say... It's (Rod) HULL.

I said last week we needed 7 points from our last 5 games.

We now have 3 left to play but I'm not convinced my previous estimate was enough.

Two more wins and we are safe, anything less and it's a nerve jangling nightmare.

Yeah I think it will take two wins. Doing that would mean we've won 7 out of 9... which is bonkers.

Maybe just one win if it's at Sunderland.

They would then need 5 points from trips to Everton, Arsenal and Chelsea.

The Sunderland game is huge, if we win that we'll stay up whatever else happens.

I still can't quite believe we are where we are in the league with only 3 games left. At Easter, would any of us believed someone telling us where we'd be at this point? We've actually got a pretty good chance of survival. I'm just glad that we're involved after I was absolutely certain we were gonners.

We've got a fairly kind fixture list compared to everyone else around us and we're one of the form teams of the division, but then we had to be to stand any chance of avoiding the drop. I don't want to get ahead of myself - it's the end of the season, a time that usually throws up some strange results.

It is great to see the team playing as well as we knew they could and finally getting the results they deserve. I don't care what others say - we did get more than our fair share of bad luck during our barren run, but recently, we have had a bit of payback (Burnley's penalty fvck-up being the main incident). The players look confident and desperate to stay in the division. Long may it continue.

If I was forced to pick the three teams to be relegated, I'd have to go with Burnley, QPR and Newcastle. Burnley just can't score and, like QPR, have left it too late to escape now. Even if they win all their remaining games, they still need to hope that two clubs ahead of them get next to no more points. It's just not going to happen. Every team above them, bar Newcastle, are picking up points. Newcastle are in total disarray. You can see that the players just don't want to be there. The manager is even slagging them off publicly. I'm sure they never thought they'd be involved in a relegation dogfight until recently, and are not prepared. Their defence is shot, and their form is abysmal. 8 defeats on the bounce is shocking. I did think they might be able to escape by changing manager before the end of the season, but that's not happening now. I just can't see how they're going to turn it around so soon, even if their remaining fixtures aren't bad.

Agree with your points and selections.

However, I don't agree about the fixture list being kind. It could be argued it was unkind and contributed to us having far lower points total & for longer than our rivals in the table because we were playing tougher games, while they were playing weaker teams.

Yeah, I agree with you. When I said our fixture list is kind, I was thinking about the remaining fixtures. You're right - kind is probably not the best word, because it implies that it's unfair when it actually is as fair as it could be - every team plays each other club else twice. I think I should have worded that something like, "Our remaining fixtures are more winnable/desirable on paper than our rivals' remaining fixtures."

It has been kind in the sense, we knew what we had to do and we have had teams that on paper are beatable.

It has also allowed us to gain momentum in the most crucial part of the season

My default setting is we're going to lose that one, so we need to win the other two. :D

If we do stay up then this will have been one of the weirdest seasons I have seen, good at the start, abysmal apart from a patch just after Xmas and phenomenal at the end.

I'm getting quite addicted to checking out the Run Ins, still think it's going to be close and we'll have a better idea after this weekend, but I think we'll be fine. Not sure why the BBC didn't include Newcastle in the above graphic, I think they've got a huge chance of going down.
