..Vardy played today with a pain killing injection, so think he'll be rested.. With the Newcastle game just 3 days later perhaps cambiasso should also be rested?... Thoughts?

It's about managing resources to do the job we need

We've got a shot at a point against Chelsea, we've got a great chance of 3 points Newcastle and not risking injuries for the final 3 games, 2 of which are 6 pointers

I trust Pearson to manage the players, just like he did over New Year when we grabbed a couple of wins

Hammond & King did alright at the Bridge, wouldn't mind seeing them in midfield & give Cambiasso a rest. Wouldn't be surprised if Kramaric starts; however unfortunately it wouldn't surprise me if Upson starts also.

picking and choosing which games we want to try and take points from is a recipe for disaster, really.

id go for this

GK - Kasper

RWB - Albrighton

CB  - Was

CB - Huth

CB - Wes

LWB - Schlupp

CM - James

CM - Lord Esteban

CM - King

RW - Mahrez

ST - Nuge

LW - Vardy

Set up for the counter.

Unless both games are won people will blame the line up.

If its strong on wednesday - "why did we use energy against chelsea?"

If its weaker on wednesday - "should always play the side with form and momentum"

I'd rest Ulloa and Konchesky, and by that I mean drop.

Ulloa looked knackered from the start today.

But we need to play a full strength team, no question. What kind of embarrassing club would surrender a potentially crucial match just because they're underdogs?

I really wouldn't mind seeing a few players rested for this game so we are fresh and at full strength for the Newcastle game.. Rest Vardy, Cambiasso, King and Was.... Bring in Kramaric, Hammond, Moore... Schlupp for Konchesky hopefully too!!!

think i'd deffo play kram tho. surely gonna be up for it and ulloa always looks knackered when we play more than once a week.

No game is easier. I would argue that the Burnley game was probably the toughest we have had this season. We go into every game picking the best side to win the game. Simple as that imo.

...even with a more crucial game just 72hrs later???

I'm hoping nuge will be fit.. He was finding form and tbh you can't fault his work rate...

I think he has to start king he's been outstanding lately and also if he plays Wednesday it will also be his 300th appearance for us- which I think we should make a lot of noise for!

I also think it will be hard for Chelsea we did well at the bridge and now we are finding form as a team with the home fans behind them - atmosphere as it has been past couple of games at home... Anything is possible I'd like to think we should at least get a point

Would go with this line up it's 12 players

I guess the fans aren't the 12th man, it's actually Vardy.

I don't rate Ulloa- if the ball is given to him or finds his head ok but he doesn't run.. By that I mean chase the ball vardy and nuge chase all the time putting pressure on them

All games are crucial. Agree Newcastle is probably more winnable but we cannot go into games putting higher priorities on certain games. Every game is high priority and we always play the best team available. We have beaten United, Burnley beat City the other week. The Chelsea game isn't exactly a write off already is it.

Resting players shouldn't be seen as 'arrogance', as it is by some, but logical.

We would all quite happily take 3 points against newcastle now for a defeat against chelsea.

Also, maybe weakening the side for a game, may actually strengthen the squad for the remainder of the season. The like of Drinky and Kram for example clearly need game time, and i have no doubts that cambiasso will perform better against newcastle if rested against chelsea.
