Akinbiyi24 Posted 29 April 2015 Posted 29 April 2015 Absolutely dreadful. A decent centre back can make the other look half decent. See cahill at Chelsea alongside terry also. If we stay up Morgan has to be one of the first out the door this summer.
Harry - LCFC Posted 29 April 2015 Posted 29 April 2015 I think he's the most harshly criticised player in our squad. Not our best some people make out as if he's done nothing good at all this season which simply isn't true. He's had good and bad spells. I'm not eager to see him leave but I think we do need to see more of the good that he's shown he's capable of.
cc_star Posted 29 April 2015 Posted 29 April 2015 Been immense last 4 games. Very difficult tonight against best team in country... By miles Take that corner... Drogba, Terry, Cahill, Ivanovich - That's an immense lineup who score against best defenders in the world week in, week out. And we only had Ulloa who could look them in the eyes without looking up. Basing anything against the elite of the elite like that is ridiculous

cc_star Posted 29 April 2015 Posted 29 April 2015 Can we still criticise Konchesky though because I thought he was dreadful. And deliberately targeted, again. He was targeted 2nd half, but it's not Konchesky's fault his teammates allowed Ivanovic and Willian to double up on him. Cambiasso made half attempts to cover, but couldn't (where's his criticism on FT for that?) We need Schlupp's pace

Drinkwater was weak tonight and James didn't offer that much. King, imo, was a massive loss. Konchesky was just the wrong side on too many occasions. Schlupp would have made a massive difference tonight.
AKCJ Posted 29 April 2015 Posted 29 April 2015 I genuinely thought Morgan was MOTM for the first half. Lets not forget that he was playing with a RB at centre back and the divisions worst left back in the second half. Unfair to criticise him for tonights game.
shailen Posted 29 April 2015 Posted 29 April 2015 Apart from that set piece slip that led to their goal, he was okay. Nothing dreadful about his performance. Made a lot of blocks from crosses and some decent interceptions. Why are the same players being targeted? For me if anyone is to receive criticism, it is the second half performance of the midfield three, but a lot of that was down to Chelsea turning it up coupled with fatigue.

What game were you watching, he was the best cm by a mile tonight. Camby played one unreal pass and that was about it
Guest Col city fan Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 If Huth is out for any length of time, it's a major loss to our team IMO. In fact, I'd go as far as to say the chance of us staying up would be lessened significantly. I think he's that important at present.

Personally, second half yesterday I thought he (yes..along with others) looked utterly pedestrian, needed a rest and was completely over-run. But you can't say that.
harpendenfox Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 We competed pretty well with the champions of England despite two early injuries. Absolutely no cause for concern. Indeed I would take encouragement from the performance. I think Morgan has learnt from Huth and is a better player for it

Yes he can, but you can't wait to have a pop at him. Its a little strange. Chelsea were just too good 2nd half.
justfoxes Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 shows how weak Morgan is,Huth keeps our back door solid (please excuse the pun ) Huth is twice maybe more the defender that calamity is he switched of for drogbas goal didn't close down terry, Morgan can be more of a liability without Huth and Pearson just doesn't see it !!

I'm so glad you're on the Huth side after your initial reaction to him joining us

No you can say that, but once again you take delight in focusing on him.
Guest Col city fan Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 I'm so glad you're on the Huth side after your initial reaction to him joining us What I said was, I was concerned about him coming back from such a long injury. He's stayed fit and played exceptionally. Good on him. I hope he's not out for long now.
Guest Col city fan Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 No you can say that, but once again you take delight in focusing on him.No, I'm not focussing on him. I'm providing balance. If you wish to see this in some way as negative, then be my guest.I'm not at all surprised that you are doing so.
TMELcfc Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 Two subs rocked us and made it difficult to freshen things up. I've never been a fan of Morgan's but I've got to hold my hands up and say he's been good last 4 games but it seems s coincidence that as soon as Huth goes off we look like we did against Liverpool at home again... Shaky, nervous and often out of position. Then again, we were playing the champions, so a little perspective is needed. Let's hope we are at full strength for Newcastle.

I'm not at all surprised that you are doing so. "Balance" your new catchphrase, funny how the balance never seems to extend to many other players. You've done it all season with him. Every goal you looked for a mistake from him, or said someone else playing his position would stop it. That's why I scoffed the other day when you brought up scapegoating. Unfortunately I don't think you see what you're doing, from the outside it's pretty obvious.
CKB Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 Morgan's defending for their second goal was laughable. The way he stood around looking for Cahill & then fell over was Sunday league stuff

Unfortunately I don't think you see what you're doing, from the outside it's pretty obvious. I've been balanced with pretty much all of the players this season. If you can't see that, that's your issue not mine. Neither have I said Cambiasso is still world-class, nor have I slated any of the players like many many posters have done. Whilst some posters continue to say Cambiasso is fantastic in every thing he does, I point out..yes..sometimes. At other times he isn't. If you can't see that, that's your issue, not mine.

He seemed to walk off okay so that was a good sign.
