Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 Flashbacks of the last time we lost a popular manager and signed a goalscorer from Wolves... What, 2007? I don't think Rob Kelly was that popular and Carl Cort was shit.
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 What, 2007? I don't think Rob Kelly was that popular and Carl Cort was shit. Therefore ruling Rob Kelly out of my thinking?
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 I heard you are a Rob Kelly fanatic though
AKCJ Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 ahh, fond memories of 2007... "walkin along singin a song walkin in a kelly wonderland" x 1000
MC Prussian Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 Probably the first time ever I really want any major Turkish club to proceed with a signing.
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 I heard you are a Rob Kelly fanatic though I AM Rob Kelly.
Clever Fox Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 Rob Kelly done a very good job with no real money and no support from anyone, least of all the Chairman. I'll always respect him for that.
Edmund Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 Top player, but who the fvck is buying these? New manager might not even be a fan!
Thracian Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 Rob Kelly - watching one game was quite enough! The mark of a manager is to cope with whatever shit he's got to hand. Any idiot can manage with stacks of money and players who all have cabinets full of international caps.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 Rob Kelly is redoubling his efforts as we speak
joshjana10 Posted 10 July 2015 Posted 10 July 2015 What, 2007? I don't think Rob Kelly was that popular and Carl Cort was shit. carl cort sent us in to raptures when he scored at the bridge on that carling cup 4-3 loss great night!!!
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 10 July 2015 Posted 10 July 2015 Rob Kelly was a P.E Teacher posing as a football manager.

No they cannot, and that's been proved many times. How many top players tried management and failed.
Clever Fox Posted 10 July 2015 Posted 10 July 2015 Rob Kelly was a P.E Teacher posing as a football manager. Isn't that something similar to how Arsene Wenger started. And he hasn't gone on to do too badly.

Between us, Everton and Aston Villa according to this article, which assesses us as the favourites to sign him. Still think Sako would be a useful squad addition.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 11 July 2015 Posted 11 July 2015 Isn't that something similar to how Arsene Wenger started. And he hasn't gone on to do too badly. But Rob Kelly has, that's the point .
Clever Fox Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 But Rob Kelly has, that's the point . On that point I think we'll have to agree to disagree. most managers can manage pretty well if they can sign good players. Kelly was pretty much left to his own devices with no money and no support. He had to find and work with frees transfers and still managed to keep us in the Championship. That takes a certain quality of Manager. I know we weren't pretty to watch in those days but that really wasn't his fault. There were other strange things happening at the club in those days.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 Well nobody has given him a chance to prove himself since, which says a lot to me. He'd of had opportunities to manage again if he was competent.
ImBlue Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 Good player, cut above in the championship and has been for a while. Wage demands have priced him out of the premier league, now it makes financial sense, go for it. Good player, cut above in the championship and has been for a while.
