33/1 to go down

Would you put money on one of your family dying? Why not it would soften the blow if they did?

Betting is not going to make it more or less likely to happen, realistically a lot of things have to go wrong for us to get relegated even if all results go against us this weekend and we end up back in the relegation on goal difference 1 less than Hull (worse case scenario) we still have already relegated QPR to play, at home, as the last game of the season and all we would need to do to survive is have a 1 goal better score line than Hull against Manchester United.

So any money, even a free bet, is a waste as we are very unlikely to go down, and betting against us is an act of betrayal, so why bother.

yeh but if it all goes wrong I've got next year's depressing championship season ticket for free, as well as another hundred and ten quid, all from a tenner. whereas if it all goes wrong all you'll have is the depressing memory of it all going wrong.

haha yeah righto mate - like I said - its a matter of perspective and like you said betting doesn't alter the outcome so how is it an act of betrayal?!

And money on your family dying?! actually thats called - life insurance.

I've just put a £5 on with Skybet and got a free £20 bet so I put that on as well!

At 33/1 I get £830 back for what is effectively a £5 stake!

I fully expect it to be a wasted £5 but they way I'm looking at it, I'm pay £5 for Leicester to stay up,

Small price to pay

I just got excited when I saw the odds in my bet365 account. Wish I'd have done that now!

Would rather cut my right arm off than bet against us.

I really do have a bad record I never win when I place a bet but can pick winners if I do not bet.

I really could not bet on us going down I know it would come up.

As a bit of an antidote I've also got £20 on us staying up at prices ranging from 2/1 to 7/2. So I'm winning money either way as well. Sweeeeet.

TBH the money wouldn't even make me feel better if we went down.

And if we don't go down I'm a prat who's chucked money away when deep down I thought we would stay up.

You'd feel no better if you'd just bought £410 for a tenner? You mad?

The bet is not going to affect our outcome. It merely means that you'd be gutted we went down but have £400 to console yourself, or you'd just be gutted we went down.

How can people not see that the first outcome is much better?

I don't get why people can't do it.

It's not like you're wanting the bet to come in. It's just a softener to the blow if the worst should happen.

The feeling of Tempting fate

I'm guessing this was when we were propping up the table... For a split second there I just thought I'd made £600.

currently 1/150 to stay up.

Yeah was three different bets from about palace at home to Spurs away. can't remember the exact times but pretty much one a month, mid feb, mid March and before we played West Ham.

I don't think you can compare death to a game of football somehow....

If we go down now and you've had a bet on it, it's a free season ticket for next season. Worth doing IMO, if we stay up it's a great feeling and you've only lost a tenner - the price of a kebab and a pint.

If shit hits the fan this weekend (heaven forbid) and we go evens I'll probably hedge my bets.

Hull will beat Spurs (When have they ever done us a favour?)

Geordies will beat a dejected QPR

A galvanised Defoe, Wickham, Fletcher, & Gomez will throw everything at us & win

Then it's all down the a nervy last day where QPR will have had time to overcome their relegation heartache & will love nothing more than to take us down with them.

The last thing you will see is a grinning Shaun Wright-Phillips.

Sleep well.

For us not to stay up, we really have to avoid winning both our last two matches.

The bookies judge that to be a 33/1 shot in conjunction with hull winning one of theirs and drawing the other.

We really need to screw up to go down.
