Foxymcoxy Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 Liam has been called up for the U21s Euro squad. He's managed to retain his place despite what you'd have to call a disappointing season. So what does everybody see for him in the future? He's shown a lot of promise and long term I still have really high hopes for him. Short term though, do we expect him in our squad next season, or back out on loan? If so where to? I would hate to see his development stall...
kingcarr21 Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 I would have him back in the squad as backup to Morgan, Huth(if we sign him) and Was(also if he signs). I believe Moore would flourish in a back 3. Get rid of Upson and let Moore be our number 1 backup CB.
BenKimbo Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 Try and get him on a half season loan with a team that is similar in play style and personnel to ours. If he is looking good by Christmas work him into the squad if not keep him around players like Huth who can develop him. I wouldn't like to see him leave he obviously has potential we just need to start getting it out of him.
cc_star Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 He needs to play, it will be good to have a preseason with us & be part of the matchday squad, but if he's not going to play he needs to get a short-term loan deal to get match sharpness.
Guest MattP Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 Nowhere near ready for this level yet and his game clearly needs a lot of work if he is going to flourish at the level we are intending to be at which should now be pushing for midtable - Stories I hear he's not that focused on football at the minute and like so many English youngsters these days the football has become secondary to the celebrity lifestyle, I hope that isn't the case as it would be a real waste of promise. Still young though, if he gets his head back down and works hard he could make it.
bovril Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 His spell at Brentford doesn't seem to have been a success. Sorry to say but I don't think he'll become a consistent Premiership footballer.

When he was in the team our defensive organisation was very poor, and that was not his responsibility. With the attributes he has I could see him actually being really good in this system with Huth telling him what's what. I'm sure it will depend on who's available in the summer at least partly but it would be risky to go into the season knowing we needed him as part of the squad. We need enough cover that he can go out on loan if it doesn't work out here yet.
Lasty Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 He appears to have lost his way this season. I'm all for having local lads in the team, but when they're clearly not good enough for the level we're at then it becomes counterproductive. Unfortunate.

Upson is past it so i would like to see another CB so we have 2 backup incase of injury. IMO Moore will become a Premier League quality CB if he actually gets game time. If i saw a back 3 of Morgan Huth Moore I wouldnt complain at all. Was has been brilliant for us but i truly believe Moore would have a great season with Huth and Morgan next to him.

Look what bringing in Huth did to Morgans game. Morgan was an absolute beast 2nd half of the season and i reckon Moore would be more than capable in a back 3.
kingfox Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 He started the season well, so he showed he can do it against the big teams. His confidence I think took a massive hit, when he got destroyed at Swansea in particular. Got a rare outing against Newcastle in the FA Cup, I thought that day he looked back to his best, very dominant in my opinion. Think he could do well again if given the chance, definitely worth keeping as back-up.
Lasty Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 Needs to get his head down and work hard in pre-season. With the squad no doubt being strengthened during the summer he's in danger of being left behind.

I can't believe any supporter could seriously have Moore or Morgan over Wasilewski after what they have seen over the last two years. Feel sorry to Was, people seem to want to shunt him out no matter how well he performs. I think him and Huth are the most important two to be in that defence for next season.
MrSpaM Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 It's disappointing, but his career seems to have gone backwards. If Brentford fans are calling you **** you know there is something terribly wrong.

He did alright but me and you could have played in that back three on that occasion, Newcastle had absolutely nothing.

Lets be honest here if Moore was going to play who would miss out from the first team. Our captain, No Huth, No Sorry Was no matter how well he performs he will not be in ahead of Morgan and Huth. Me personally if i had to choose a defender to drop for Moore it would be Morgan. I was merely going with what would realistically happen if Moore was picked. In fact after re reading my post of not complaining at all would be wrong as i love Was and defo think he should be first choice ahead of Morgan
wight88 Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 Is he a decent lad or has he become a bit full of himself of late, it's usually ominous when Nigel starts farming you out?
les-tah Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 Moore would learn brilliantly off Huth, his game would come on heaps and bounds playing alongside him..... its a shame his main teacher has been Morgan who himself looks clueless without Huth.

If Brentford fans are calling you **** you know there is something terribly wrong. 12 Months ago we were calling Harry Kane shit. In fact half of us still are! He's doing ok though isn't he? Sometimes it just doesn't work out, he only played 3 games for them this season ffs, it's hardly time for him to call it a day.
bovril Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 Was and Huth playing regularly together at the back is the stuff dreams are made of. It would make Prior and Elliott look like an episode of Gossip Girls.
st albans fox Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 No guarantees that we will give was the contract length he probably wants Liam may well be playing in a three nxt term Would like to see it with huth helping him along
davieG Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 Any new centre back in addition to Huth needs to be a left footer or at least capable of playing on the left.
ithuriel Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 Seeing peeps talk about who could be dropped to allow him to play and Morgan being the captain, who is to say Morgan will remain the captain for the coming season. Moore needs to work hard to get his place back or he will eventually get left behind and moved on.

Staffs Fox Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 I do like Moore and I see potential there but I do worry for his position here, I think we'll sign Huth permanently and another first choice CB. Was/Wes/Huth have been immense the past 6 weeks or so but they need proper competition especially with them all being another year older. I think then Moore will be 5th Choice which will probably not be good enough for a player of his age.
