just spoke to a vile fan neighbour who recons hes in the know as he has a mate who works at he Vile, says Jamie Vardy is 99% going to sign for sherwoods Vile even if Benteke is staying and he's willing to pay £15million for our little roadrunner!

i recon tho he needs to take his mate with a ton of salt let alone a pinch !

can't see Jamie jumping ship at the moment but if he continues to play for England and he plays well then that shop window will really be open and who knows we may end up losing our little Gem and of the Vardy tangent im really hoping King Cambiasso stays with us and hope his wife loves Leicester as much as he does if papers are to be believed regarding his wife ?

Good luck Jamie for the Slovenia game hope you get a chance to show woy how great you can be !!

Vardy has openly said that a lot of his success is down to Pearson and supporting/pushing him on, remember Vardy was even looking to throw in the towel after yr 1 with us....I would be surprised if he would want to leave Leicester whilst Pearson is in charge.

Posted

I would only sell if Vardy himself says 'I want to leave'

Anything else would show a real lack on ambition, opposite to what the owners are saying about pushing for top 10. Vardy was our best attacking player last season. Selling our best players is not what we need to be doing.

Unless someone comes in with a ridiculous offer that allows us to buy an outstanding replacement, it shouldn't happen!

How are people under the illusion that vardy couldn't be replaced for £15 million?! That can buy a whole range of strikers who'd score more goals and even provide more assists. If our scouts are to be as good as they are believed to be imagine what they could find with such funds?! Mind you we probably will never get that sort of money for him.

What I don't understand is that the media believe charlie Austin will go for £10 million while vardy will go for £15 million!

Vardy plays for a premiership team and has just signed a new deal.

I don't know how long Austin has left but I think it's fair to say he wants to leave QPR where as Vardy doesn't want to or need to leave.

That would be why Vardy has a 15m price tag, if we went down he would probably have a 5m price tag.

They don't need him really anyway with Agbonlahor

But Agbonlahor only scores once in a while, and I think Andreas Weimann has gone to Derby?

Con me old Lad it's a simple as Vardy has a worth within the team squad ethic at Leicester and that is priceless currently

In ability and technical terms he isn't worth as much but in heart in team ethic in work load he is worth more than even Real Madrid could offer . . .

  • Sell @ 15 million & replace with Pierre Emerick Aubameyang .................for £25-£30 million
. Aka the Panther

We would never get him. I'm sure if he came available there would be loads of teams ahead of us to get him.

Would be a class signing though he is absolutely rapid!

I understand his worth to our team, but do people not think we could perhaps replace him for £15 million?

definitely , especially if we added a bit towards a replacement

West Brom = Sideways/Backwards step (ask Joe Mattock), Stoke = Sideways step/slight improvement on West Brom.  Villa=Big club in the making but average team.  He will 100% stay with us.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah????

:crylaugh: :crylaugh: :crylaugh: :crylaugh: :crylaugh: :crylaugh:

What the **** are you smoking?

West Brom/Stoke - teams we should be aspiring to challenge (Over a few years to get to that level) - Mid table.

Villa - Relegation rivals - Something we need to try and move away from, I can't see Villa moving from that status anytime soon - I've said it before i'll say it again, they're a modern day Coventry, relegation battle after relegation battle but always wheedle their way out of it by the skin of their teeth.

If we need to add then that's not replacing him for £15m is it?

He's not irreplaceable and never again will he ever be worth £15 million pounds. I'm not say we should sell him but that kind of money would definitely be tempting.

Possibly tempting in previous administrations, but with our owners now and the premier league money we don't need to sell, especially as it would only strengthen our competitors.

Really astounds me when people say we need to 'cash-in quickly' because 'we won't be offered x amount again' in terms of Vardy, Schlupp and Chilwell, as if they've forgot that our owners/board have brought the stadium for £millions, wiped off £100 million of debt, pumped in fvck knows in training facilities and transfers (especially Sven's reign), these boys have a billion or two and this is pocket money to them. On top of that you have the £70 million we picked up this season, which is to go up to over £100 million in the next couple of years. What is £15 million for Vardy or a pathetic £1 million going to change in our finance? Why sell off a winning team or up and coming prospects for a pittance when we're likely to be fully self-sufficient with a couple of years if we stay up?

Villa big club in the making?

Villa aren't a big club these days. With the amount of money given out for being in the PL now, a clubs past success or past glories will mean very little. Having a few thousand more local fans will equate to F all. Teams need to be doing well right now, it will make a huge difference in the next 2 or 3 years. A wrong decision by a club now, like hiring Sherwood for example could send a club into a worrying downward spiral. Leeds and Forest, they aren't big clubs anymore, despite their history. Times have changed. There are the obvious 4 big clubs in the PL, but after that clubs are pretty much like for like. How long will the likes of Spurs and Liverpool be thought of as big clubs if they continue to fight it out for 5th-6th or even lower? It's about how clubs are performing right now and how likely they are to be in a relegation scrap. Nige's Leicester is more desirable than Sherwood's Villa, that's for sure!

Vardy can't leave yet, I've just bought a England Vardy shirt from china. Maybe in the January window. Lettering is bound to have peeled off by then.

Do you know any other players like him?

Vardy IS irreplaceable, he is a unique player vital to the way we play.

Sure we could get a couple of Ulloas for £15m, but even if that guaranteed us more goals, we wouldn't be able to replace his tireless running and movement off the ball as well. I'd rather keep that than have 2 players who can score but need things served up for them.

We need to be improving and that means you don't get rid of your best players, you add to the squad with different types of players. Hence why I think it's bizarre that people would cash in on a player like Vardy, who excels in certain areas that other strikers we have don't.

We don't need to sell players to spend money anyway, so the argument that '£15 million will buy us several players' is redundant.
