Stevosevic Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Probably deserves own thread. Linked to Villa and a new deal with us. Only just signed one didnt he? In the mirror:http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/southampton-plot-10million-deal-charlie-5749061
Mark_w Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 I'm sorry but 15m? I reckon i'd sell. I think almost everyone would, it's bollocks though.
dbtcity Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Who would you get to replace him for 15m though.... vital part of the way we're playing at the min
Guest Kopfkino Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Its a shame Southampton will probably get Austin, I'd break the bank to get him
Mark_w Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Who would you get to replace him for 15m though.... vital part of the way we're playing at the min If the ESPN article is to be believed then Okazaki is pretty similar. No way we'd get offered £15m for Jamie though as good as he is.
Jaspa Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Now they are safe, there could well be a change of heart. That makes no sense to me, hes clearly valued here. The only thing that article says is Sherwood is impressed and West Brom had a bid rejected in January, I see one known fact in there and its nothing new
4everfox Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 If Aston Villa sell Benteke for say 25 million then we should demand the entirety of it for Vardy.
Nick Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 He'll want to stay but the Villa link is if Benteke goes to Liverpool for silly money I guess.
gurru991 Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Vardy has a very strong relationship with Pearson, I don't believe he is going anywhere. Its a shame Southampton will probably get Austin, I'd break the bank to get him I would love to see Austin here
Stevosevic Posted 25 May 2015 Author Posted 25 May 2015 I think Vardy hit will double figures in goals and assists next season. I wouldn't sell for that money, we don't want to rip the character and spirit out of the side
lgfualol Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 15M bloody hell. He's worth that much for us. Is it probably just his agent? He'll stay no doubt. He seems to love it here. Get him a new contract Nigel.
MPH Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 I'd be concerned about his lack of ambition if he went to villa....
Benguin Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 The amount of assists and crowd pleasing from Vardy is easily worth 15 mill. I wouldn't take it though.
Lambert09 Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 A front 3 of Vardy, Austin and Mahrez would be unreal!!!!!!! Its got everything you need, pace, goals and tricks!!!
Danizen Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 Vardy is Pearson's boy. There's no chance of him going somewhere like Villa.
Foxymcoxy Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 I hate the way people jump on board with selling our players as soon as a decent fee is mentioned. Who are we going to get with 15m that will offer what Vardy does and be guaranteed to settle into our team? Don't reckon the offer is true anyway though tbh, and highly doubt Vardy or Pearson would entertain the idea.

Don't reckon the offer is true anyway though tbh, and highly doubt Vardy or Pearson would entertain the idea. This...we are not a selling club and Aston Villa would be sideways step if he did go. Nigel Pearson is building a team and the last thing he is going to do is sell our best players.
Ric Flair Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 The thing with Vardy is that he knows how hard he has worked for this, he's also had times where he's doubted himself and didn't believe he could make it at this level. Pearson and the club have helped him have the belief he's good enough and i'm sure he knows it could all fizzle away in a different set up. You often see that with players who've come from the lower leagues, there's a fine line between making it and disappearing again. I think both parties will want things to stay as they are, £15 million sounds a lot but it doesn't get you that much for a striker these days. He'll get double figures next year in this formation.
Footballwipe Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 £15m when his contribution next season could net the club in the region of £125m with the new TV deal is nothing. With his personality, spirit and energy that price is a fraction of what he's worth to the team.
Tielemans63 Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 If Tim Sherwood can get Gabby Agbonlahor to up his work-rate by about 60% then they don't even need Vardy.
Jon the Hat Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 Villa? **** off. When he forces his way into the England starting 11 next year, he will be off to Man Utd.
les-tah Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 if stats dont lie his second season in any league is always his most successful.... if next year is good the lad could be in the Euro squad.... natural talent aside he is one of a kind which separates him from ings kane sturridge rooney berahino austin ect.. all of them are very similar.
