Dan Posted 16 June 2015 Posted 16 June 2015 But you can bet your life 95% of people will say that's why. I'm sure of it. It's one of these myths which are trotted out year after year. Bottom at Christmas is another one, I get that it was quite an interesting bit of trivia for a while but I'm actually convinced some had it in their head that being bottom at Christmas meant you were pretty much already relegated. Those three teams are Hull, QPR, and Hull again. Two clubs notorious for dodgy transfer business.
st albans fox Posted 16 June 2015 Posted 16 June 2015 not dissappointed by the responses ! oh, and nothing to report apart from the fact that the weather is pretty good today
tylesta Posted 17 June 2015 Posted 17 June 2015 I expected nothing worthwhile from either of you... so my expectations have been met. are you constantly on your period?
brookeslcfc Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 I love Vardz, he works his arse off. He loves Leicester and the fans love him. We do not need to sell either so nah!
Babylon Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 are you constantly on your period? Too subtle for you it seems.
st albans fox Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 are you constantly on your period? I believe it was an attempt at humour. I engaged with it as such. I did chuckle a small amount though there was no chance of anything more than that. It's one of the reasons I'm here.
Stadt Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 What'd be the point in selling him even for £20 million? He's not worth that at all but who are we going to replace him with? We're not going to be signing any world class forwards so there'd be no point as we don't need money.

We're not going to be signing any world class forwards so there'd be no point as we don't need money. If we did get an offer of £20,000,000 it would be crazy not to sell. If you get above market rate you have to sell and move on. If Vardy played for Aston Villa and we offered £20,000,000 it would be depressing.

Stadt Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 We have money, having £25 million to spend or having £55m to spend doesn't make a difference really, it's about being able to attract these players not affording them.

I love JV but I'm sure we could get someone on this planet who is better than him with £20,000,000 to spend.
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 I love JV but I'm sure we could get someone on this planet who is better than him with £20,000,000 to spend. Who REALISTICALLY could we buy for £20m that we could guarantee would fit in with our system?
Guest Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 I love JV but I'm sure we could get someone on this planet who is better than him with £20,000,000 to spend. You thoughts are as factual as when you were telling me that Sunderland, Newcastle, Villa and Hull weren't going to win another game with 6 to play. They are simply what you believe. If we couldn't get a better replacement for Vardy then we'd be stupid to sell. The team gets worse but we have 15m to spend and other teams know it.

I didn't say that at all, I would never make such a bold statement as it's idiotic to be so assertive of something that nobody could possibly know. I'm sure there is a FW in South America that is better than Vardy that could be bought for £20,000,000. At some point Vardy has a price we would sell at. If it's not £20m, is it 30m or 40m or how about 50m? If you get a ridiculously good offer you have to sell.
RedSoxUK Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 Who REALISTICALLY could we buy for £20m that we could guarantee would fit in with our system? You could realistically buy anyone you want that doesn't play for Real, Barca, PSG, the top 4, or an overhyped BPL player. With 20m to splash on one guy, the opportunities would almost be limitless. If I had an offer for 15 / 20m for Vardy, i'd take it without a second thought. That's a massive over evaluation of a player, and one we could almost like for like change relatively cheap. Sure, there a player similar to Vardy, and then there's Vardy, but if you're receiving an offer double, triple what his value should be, you take it. Doesn't matter if you're Leicester, Manchester United or Fleetwood Town; you accept an offer which is massively beyond evaluation. That's why Brighton were smart enough not to reject our last offer on Ulloa, and why Liverpool are ridiculous for rejecting Man City for Sterling. You don't do good business by rejecting offers to keep hold of your assets when the price is beyond evaluation like that. Southampton are the perfect example of a team reaping the benefits of teams overpaying for their players, replacing them with cheaper, sometimes statistically worse players,

Southampton are the perfect example of a team reaping the benefits of teams overpaying for their players, replacing them with cheaper, sometimes statistically worse players, I completely agree. Christ, how opinion turns from the sublime to the ridiculous on here. Until the last third of last season, Vardy was rounded upon by a good proportion of the forum for being unable to finish. Perhaps rightly so at the time too. He couldn't hit a barn door. Vardy is all pace and effort. True, these are important qualities, but to be considering rejecting 20 million quid for a striker whose goal tally in the Premiership was as low as Vardy's, is just barmy. If anyone came in for Vardy for 20 million, we should bite their hands off and use some of the money to get a dominant central midfielder and a quality centre back. Then play Kramaric and see what he can do.

PAULCFC Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 Hypothetically....(and it took ages to be able to read that and type it from Google!)Who do we think we are going to get to replace him?So we get 20m from whoever, and he's on his bike for probably better wages, as thats the way the players look at at it And to be fair i would!.Can not see a player who fits our team as well..
shailen Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 He's not worth more than 12mil, but I wouldn't sell him. He is a confidence player, but he has that special ability that makes him a match winner. He never will be prolific at this level, but he is more than a goalscorer with his workrate and physical attributes. I've not seen a player with the same aggression as Vardy since Rooney. The way he harrasses defenders is exemplary.

Berahinio from West Brom? Younger, has pace and still learning the game. Would 20/25 mil be enough to prize him away from WBA?

By all accounts Okazaki is apparently like Vardy minus the pace and better at finishing.
