Vardy

Interesting to see that Vardy left the ground 45 minutes after the player coach left for London with the rest of the squad with Nigel and john Rudkin. Maybe a new contract may soon be offered

If the ESPN article is to be believed then Okazaki is pretty similar. No way we'd get offered £15m for Jamie though as good as he is.

The player himself has said he is not the most talented, the fastest on the ground or the greatest in the air.... I'd say the main thing that differs vardy from the rest is his lighting pace which going by that snippet from the espn article the player himself says he hasn't got, would still take okazaki but not as a replacement for vardy!!! I honestly think he is irreplaceable

Vardy's special weapon for me is that his career up to 25yo was forged in Non-League, he was being paid something like £20-50 a week at Stocksbridge- he carried on playing because of his desire and passion for football and it helped him along whilst he worked full time. When he came here he lacked an edge of physicality, but when he was ready to quit after a disappointing season it was Pearson who instilled that belief and desire back to his game, and for the most part since he's been a world-beater.

What I'm trying to say is whether Vardy believes that there's a better move whilst Pearson is manager here who has really showed him how far that desire can get him- if that England call-up does anything I think it will consolidate his stay here.

Vardy is irreplaceable.

Wouldn't sell for 150m.

This. Although his quality would probably realistically be worth £10-£15m, the effort, pace and how he adds to our game is absolutely vital. I'm guessing all but the most ridiculous of bids would be met with a firm "Not for sale" from Pearson and the owners

I also would like to think that Vardy would have no interest in playing for Villa. We're on the up and he's been a huge part of it

We finished above Villa and are equal to if not bigger than West Brom.

Stoke we might struggle with but at least we could hold them to ransom if they really wanted him.

Still you feel the message from us, as it has been previously, will be not for sale at any price.

Who would you get to replace him for 15m though.... vital part of the way we're playing at the min

Not really we are not playing now lol lol

Remember when the majority of us were saying to snap wba hands off for 5m in Jan!!!! Thank god Pearson is the manager and not us

You get what I mean :)

Would be a major shock if Vardy turned his back on Pearson, City and the fans after all the support he has had. Understandable to degree if it's a top four outfit who have more chance of winning trophies, but what's the point of joining anybody else.

Vardy's got stability, an exciting four years ahead of him before he starts to lose his pace and tenacity; as long as we stay in the prem, he will be well looked after and can become a city legend.

5m for an out of form player who wasn't really getting a game, if you thought differently hats off to you

I thought the same as now. Would be crazy to sell a player we have already seen so much from. If someone has been well and truly replaced and isn't making the squad then getting a good price for him is obviously sensible. Selling an established member of the squad because you reckon it's a fair price and we could maybe get better with that money is a dangerous game.

The only top flight club I think that would turn Jamie's head atm is Arsenal and I tell you why - I think he could be a great foil for Giroud and/or a new striker (sure Alan Smith would probably agree). Yes, they aren't challenging for the title at present but he would best fit their system in my view.

However, it is all hypothetical - He'll stay, no doubts about it at all. He likes it here and we all love him.

Not sure why he would sign for a club lower down the league to ourselves unless we were forcing the move

Edited for you.

If a top 7 or 8 team came in for him I would think his head could be turned but Villa?  A step down I think.  He has made it to the fringes of the England squad here, realistically a club playing European football would be the progression for him now.  Unless he can double his wages...  I would hope that he won't sell his soul for the sake of it.  He doesn't seem like that type of player.

No need even talk about it. Villa won't spend £15m, Vardy won't be interested and we're not interested in selling. I can't see him being sold to anyone.

Tbf I think it depends on Vardy. As people said he doesn't seem like a player that will push through a transfer but if he thinks he can earn £60,000 a week elsewhere that is enough to make anyone think seriously. Especially with him being 28 this could be his last big contract
