Whilst i do see some of your points, surely the ultimate aim for a striker is to score the lions share of the goals?

Depends what you are being asked to do. He's played in all sorts of positions this year. Wide left midfield, wide of a front 3, and down the middle. But in all of those roles he's often running on to balls in the channels. Most of his goals have come from the channels and so have his assists.

 

His stats show a high accuracy and a low number of shots. Which would tie in with him spending a lot of time in not shooting positions, but not being too bad when he's in them.

Vardy is the best thing that has happened to Leicester in years for a number of reasons.

He cannot ever be sold at any cost as what he brings cannot be replaced.

So true. Vardy may not have scored many last season, but whenever I replay that goal at w brom I think "wow". The goal was pure class, and if you try to imagine another prem player who could have scored a goal like that, it's hard to find one. And didn't he score that after running himself into the ground for 90 minutes?

Said it before...if you were there, when it went in, we went bonkers.

For two reasons..it was a brilliant goal. One of those goals where you see it coming...'go on', 'go on'...bang......YES!

Secondly because we kinda knew it was going to make such a huge difference.

The team went from zero (first half we were dreadful) to hero in the space of 45 minutes...

And we literally did not look back after that.

It's my belief that that goal was of massive significance in the recent history of LCFC.

If we would not have won that game, I think we'd have gone on to be relegated.

And you are quite correct.... For Vardy to make that run and then produce that finish after 80 odd minutes, was an awesome effort and testament to the guy's workrate.

Why are people so clouded with their opinion of strikers. Just because a player plays up front doesn't mean they should be banging in double figures. Some strikers are made to assist and support the other front men, Vardy is exactly that, close down and pressure high up the pitch and win the ball to set up others. He is has one of the highest assists in the league.

His work rate is also infectious, the rest of the team raises their game when he plays, his pressurising of the ball also creates more space and time in midfield, allowing players like mahrez or Nuge to play a free role behind him, taking away part of their defensive responsibilities.

He is vital for the way we play and I would say completely irreplaceable for us at this stage. I honestly cannot think of another player that does the job he does, as well as he does. Closest I can think of is lakaku at Everton, but he doesn't get near Vardy when it comes to attitude and work rate.

He only really played wife left midfield last season when Pearson seemed like he was looking for answers but this year he'll be either wide of the 3 or up front in the two... we have better options now for wide left mid... and this is partly what i mean when i say that i would be looking for him to push on from the 5 goals....

What kept us up this year may not do it next we need to play better football just running and chasing won't keep us up this season.

 

15m spent right can get us two good players and lets be honest god forbid one injury Vardy could be finished.

I wouldn't sell him under any circumstances other than him demanding a move.  I doubt very much he would do that unless a top 4 or 5 club came in for him, then it would be a case of wishing him all the best, as he would have earned it.  He isn't there yet, but he could be in a year or two.

 

The owners simply need to look at the value of staying in the league - take out any of the pieces of the puzzle and you put that at risk.

1) You were already a better side than the three promoted sides, hence you got promoted the year before.

 

2) A club with more experience in the premier league can always attract better players

Silly season is well and truly upon us! Not just for the papers but the fans.

I couldn't believe what I was reading yesterday regarding the new Jamie Mackie, Jamie Vardy, joining Villa.

First off the price, £15million would be atrocious business from Villa. Then to see the responses from the Leicester fans saying they wouldn't sell him for that?! Are you mental?

I don't know who would be stupider in that deal: Villa for 'offering' it or Leicester if they turn it down. And then to read some fans saying 'why would he want to take a step down and join Villa?' Christ I almost fell off my chair!
