MiniFox Posted 29 May 2015 Posted 29 May 2015 A few recent(ish) ones: Nicky Adams Wayne Brown Dany N'Guessan
Koke Posted 29 May 2015 Posted 29 May 2015 Louis Dodds Joe Mattock Alan Sheehan (he was never that good to begin with) Casino Jimmy Hussein Kaebi
Koke Posted 29 May 2015 Posted 29 May 2015 Players that did well since leaving us. Gareth McAuley DJ Campbell (had a good spell with Blackpool) Max Gradel Matty Fryatt
iancognito Posted 30 May 2015 Posted 30 May 2015 Hope he does. I'd never wish anything bad on Brian Little. Shamelessly failed by the board - some of whom are are still 'gracing' the directors box today - he expressed a desire to go to a club where he'd made his name as a player. The board who failed to back him, then leaked details of the whole affair to the press and turned the fans who idolised him against him. The smug look on that cnut Martin George's face as Little got dog's abuse from 20,000 people makes my stomach turn. Another one who turned the club round after Pleat, took us to Wembley 3 times and got us up on an absolute joke of a wage bill. I'd say if you're naming managers that nosedived, you'd be better looking at McGhee. There's a guy who deserves abuse and failure. He's gonna take over United after Van Gaal though surely........
iancognito Posted 30 May 2015 Posted 30 May 2015 Steve Corica Stuart Campbell I wouldn't say Campbell nosedived, he just found his level at Bristol Rovers. Didn't he captain them at one stage. He never had enough about him for anything above second tier
Aus Fox Posted 30 May 2015 Posted 30 May 2015 We had a whole host of young players come through when we were last in the premier league Jon Ashton Jon Stevenson Alan Sheean Jordan Stewart Matt Piper Matt Heath tommy wright Tom Williamson Stephan Dawson ( of man of the match fame) I really thought at the time one or two of these would turn out to be good premiership or top of the championship players. I don't think other than Dawson winning man of the match against the run away champions last season any have done anything above league 1.

Can't say Dawson didn't go onto bigger and better things, He was majestic in that 0-3 defeat last season.

Disappeared a bit after that, though.

MC Prussian Posted 30 May 2015 Posted 30 May 2015 Those 2 Hungarians we signed in the relegation season. Zsolt Laczko and Gabor Bori. Although to be fair, Laczko is still on Sampdoria's books, so I wouldn't regard that as a "nosedive".
Royston. Posted 30 May 2015 Posted 30 May 2015 Mills, Beckford. those guys were so shít they could hardly do much worse after leaving.
Freesolo Posted 30 May 2015 Posted 30 May 2015 Who was that player we bought from leeds for a ton of cash midfielder, then he just amounted to s**t.. He was touted a some Big time charlie. Sure he was one of Peter Taylors idiotic buy's?

He never had enough about him for anything above second tier yeah he was their captain and he managed them as a caretaker/player manager thing for a bit, too. played regularly in league one for a few years. not too bad. also has a facebook page dedicated to his nob on when he takes corners.

Sure he was one of Peter Taylors idiotic buy's? Matt Jones I think came from Leeds for a couple of million under Taylor, but ended up with a broken leg, never recovered and retired.

Finnaldo Posted 30 May 2015 Posted 30 May 2015 Michael Johnson was the ultimate fade. Awful how his career spiralled after his problems with alcoholism(?) and depression, if I remember correctly. Wonder what he's doing now? Just checked, if the fountain of knowledge that is Wikipedia is to be believed he's opened an estate agents. Good luck to him.
