Leeds chasing young defender's signature CHAMPIONSHIP, LATEST NEWS UPDATE: 20 MINUTES AGO Leicester and England Under-21 defender Liam Moore is the subject of speculation linking him to Championship side Leeds United. The West Yorkshire club appointed Uwe Rosler as their new manager last month and the German has begun making his transfer plans, setting his sights on the Leicester youngster. Rosler has made a new central defender the top priority during this transfer window and thinks Moore would be the perfect fit for his side. Moore found himself in Nigel Pearson's starting XI regularly in the first half of last season, but the arrival of Robert Huth in January saw the Englishman drop down the pecking order. The pair have worked together before, as Rosler brought Moore in on loan while manager of Brentford. The 22-year-old impressed before moving back to Leicester and now is wanted by Rosler again. A number of Premier League and Championship sides are also chasing Moore's signature, meaning the Whites face a tough task to land him. The current Leicester man has been named in Gareth Southgate's England Under-21s squad for the upcoming European Championships in the Czech Republic, which begins on June 17. - See more at: https://www.clubcall.com/championship/leeds-chasing-young-defenders-signature-1771429.html?#sthash.WIxhKsto.dpuf

HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club that Leeds United boss Uwe Rosler has made Leicester Citydefender Liam Moore one of his top transfer targets.

Rosler has made a new central defender one of his top priorities this summer after taking charge at Elland Road, and he is a confirmed admirer of Moore.

Rosler signed Moore on loan during his time in charge of Brentford, with the 22-year-old impressing during his short stint at Griffin Park.

Moore, who started last season in Nigel Pearson's starting XI, found himself down the pecking order at the King Power Stadium in the second half of the campaign following the arrival of Robert Huth in January.

Moore joined Brentford for a second loan spell in February, before being recalled by Leicester following an injury to Matt Upson.

A number of Premier League and Championship clubs are thought to be monitoring Moore's situation at Leicester and are ready to move for the highly-rated stopper.

Moore has been named in Gareth Southgate's England Under-21s squad for this summer's European Championship in the Czech Republic

I thought he was a great prospect, why sell him? how much is he worth?

Why don't we loan him out for the season  so he can get some game time.

We'll say no and let them have him on a season long loan (with recall clause) instead, I'd imagine.

Liam will get a chance to play for us and when that chance comes he will have to show he deserves a place in the XI. That's how Wasyl took his place and it's the only way he will get it back. Liam should tell the coaching staff that he wants to fight for his place instead of being shoved out on loan.

he is a long way down the pecking order and needs games. there is no point for anyone in him sitting on our bench or maybe not even making the squad some weeks.

if we want him to eventually be first choice he needs games on loan. if we don't think he's good enough he needs to leave. if he wants to be a premier league footballer he needs games.

Not completely sold on him if I'm being totally honest. He's clearly not crap, but is he good enough for the Premier League? Not at the minute. I'd probably loan him out but the truth is... how many of you see him reaching Huth's level? Huth's the kind of standard we need to aim for and I think he's not even at Morgan's level yet.

i think he could easily be a bottom half of the prem centre back. play or at least be a squad player for someone like us, west brom, palace etc. in a few years. not there yet though and the only way he'll get there is by going on loan or moving on, not from playing for our u21s.

ideally we'd loan him to leeds til jan, then when he's proven once more to be a top championship defending someone like bournemouth (or whoever else is bottom of the prem in january) would take him on loan for the rest of the season. he needs games but i can't see the point of him getting championship games cos then we'll all still say but is he good enough for the prem? but then he isn't gonna get prem games for us so where is he gonna get them? dilemma for sure.

Was a bit worrying that Brentford said he was absolute muck in his loan spell there earlier this year. Initial loan for a few months with recall and extension clauses and we'll see if he can hold down a spot in a side at that level.

Season long loan is the way I'd go with Moore to see how consistent his performance levels are, then make a decision on his future the following season

From what i have seen his isn't Premiership material yet with Huth hopefully coming in and wasyl signing a new contract he isn't getting a game at Leicester

He was shit last season, but when he had adjusted to Championship he was fine. I'm sure he'll keep improving and eventually become experienced enough to succeed in the Prem but last season was not one where he impressed me.. at all!

In the world where injuries never happen, yeah.

I wouldn't mind loaning Moore out so he could get more playing time. Might be a good idea. However I really don't like the idea of loaning him out to Leeds United. Never liked them. Would rather he went to any other championship club to be honest.

See what they offer and not sure Nige thinks he will make it or we have the time to wait.

Right now we need players ready to go and not prospects.

He seemed to struggle at Brentford so has he got an attitude problem?

Did not look happy at the end of the season.

Slightly concerned that the 'money' has gone to his head and makes him to think that he deserves to move to a bigger club.
